    Spent 6 years in the USAF. 2005-2011. AFSC was 2A7X3 Aircraft Structural Maintenace. Got out a Staff Sergeant. Was a challenging and rewarding 6 years as I got to see a lot of different places. Stationed in Alaska and Arkansas with my daughter being born in Anchorage. Gave me a set of skills that I use to this day as a civlian working on aircraft with a large Aerospace company. Was not for me obviously as I did not stay in and do 20. But....I would not change my decision at all. GO AIR FORCE👍

      StaG, by Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least be a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force. However, they may speak to recruiters when they come to their high school.
      You may research more information about the Air Force on our site of www.airforce.com/lifestyle to include benefits like education, pay, careers, training, lifestyle, requirements, etc.
      There is also the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) portion that answers a lot of the most common questions asked: www.airforce.com/frequently-asked-questions
      You may also log on to www.airforce.com/chat-live to chat with a live advisor to answer your questions.
      If qualified you can join at age 17 with parental consent during your junior year in high school as part of The Air Force Softbook Program and enter the Delayed Entry Program (DEP). However, you will not go to Basic Military Training (BMT) until after you graduate high school.

    Hello, I'm 15 turning 16 this July, and I was just wondering what steps I should take as a current Highschool student to get into the Airforce and figure out exactly what I want to do in the AirForce. I currently have a 4.8 weighted and 4.0 unweighted GPA, but I have no idea what exactly it is that I want to do in the AirForce and what my aptitudes are. I do know that I want to go in after I get a college degree first though.

      By Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least be a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force. However, they may speak to recruiters when they come to their high school.
      While you are still too young to enlist into the Air Force, it is never too early to start preparing. There are a few things you can do now to prepare for once you reach the required age. First study hard and graduate from high school. Get the best grades you can in all subjects especially English, Math and Science. This will help you improve your score on the ASVAB test which is required for enlistment. Say no to drugs and get an early start on physical conditioning are important steps in the right direction. And stay out of trouble. Law violations can delay and in some cases will disqualify you from joining the Air Force and taking advantage of the opportunities available. Starting early and being prepared are your best shot. Stay in contact with your Guidance Counselor and maybe we will see you in a few years.
      You may research more information about the Air Force on our site of www.airforce.com to include benefits like education, careers, training, lifestyle, requirements, etc.
      There is also the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) portion that answers a lot of the most common questions asked: www.airforce.com/frequently-asked-questions/
      Your Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test scores, physical exam, citizenship and moral standards determine your job/career qualifications.

    i've always wanted to join the air force since I saw a fighter jet fly by for the first time. but then i heard about how the people you will work with will bully you because im a muslim myself. they also told how many muslims hide their identity to keep a plain field with others. I hope by the time I graduate high school, being a muslim becomes a norm in the air force.

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy 4 роки тому +6

      RANDOM GOD ll the Air Force has a huge diverse culture and accepts all ethnicities, religions and races. They are also anti-bullying and try to ensure a safe, anti-hazing work environment. That being said, sometimes the bullying still happens, just as it would anywhere else in the world because of bad seeds. But you better believe the Air Force will deal with any culprits accordingly if they become aware of it.
      So my advice is don’t worry about the small percentage of bad apples. They are everywhere you go. Instead focus on the positives the Air Force can bring to your life. Good luck.

      2) If you are qualified to join the recruiter will schedule you to take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) exam. The test that one takes to enlist is called the ASVAB. It covers 8 general subjects. It will test not only your current knowledge, but also your propensity to learn in different subject arenas.
      3) Physical/medical exam is scheduled by the recruiter: Your recruiter will schedule you to take your physical at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). The recruiter will brief you on proper attire to wear for your trip to the MEPS. You will be at the MEPS the entire day. You will take a complete physical exam to include, hearing, eye, and range of motion tests (there is no fitness test). You will be given blood tests and a urinalysis test as well. Females will have a breast exam. Sometimes additional medical consultations are required to ensure you are eligibility so your physical may take more than one day. Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) doctors (not recruiters) will determine if you are medically qualified to join and any career limitations.
      4) After you complete your physical and career counseling at MEPS. While at MEPS you will then swear into the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) to include signing a contract to join and await your Basic Training Start Date. You will be in the DEP approximately 3 to 9 months. While in the DEP you will find out which career or aptitude area that YOU selected at MEPS that you are receiving, and the date of when you leave for Basic Military Training (BMT).
      At this point you are committed as you join the Air Force.

      @Fakermid1 By Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force.

      @xbrandonplays143 By Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force.
      You may also download the Aim High App: www.airforce.com/aim-high-app
      If qualified you can join at age 17 with parental consent during your junior or senior year in high school as part of The Air Force Ambassador Program and enter the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), but you will not go to Basic Military Training (BMT) until AFTER you graduate high school.

    • @baron7755
      @baron7755 3 роки тому

      The large majority of UAV (not drone, UAV) pilots in the AF are officers, so you would have to go to college and get a degree and then be selected as a pilot. At present, there are very few enlisted UAV pilots, and all of them are NCOs most with prior expertise in the UAV field, typically Sensor Operators (but I dont think that is a requirement, just how it works out): what that means is you have to enlist and become a NCO then apply for the program.

      Bridge, You must live in the United States or an area that has an Air Force recruiter. Enlistment into the U.S. Air Force by citizens of countries other than the United States is limited to those foreign nationals who are legally residing in the United States and possess a U.S. Citizenship or non US citizens must have an Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S) Registration Card (INS Form I-551 -- Commonly known as a "Green Card". The green card must be a 10 year green card and with an expiration date greater than 2 years from the date of issue. Applicants must be between 17 and 39, must speak, read and write English fluently to apply to join the Air Force. The Air Force does not bring applicants to the United States to join. You must get to the United States legally on your own and complete all immigration processing to obtain your Green Card on your own. The Air Force does not help.

      The rule is 5% of our total number of enlistees can be GED holders and non High School Graduates. You must score at least a 50 on the ASVAB test for GED holders and a 65 for non High School Graduates. However, if you obtain 15 semester hours of qualifying college credit you will be processed as a high school graduate. To be qualifying, these credits must be from a fully accredited college or university. The classes must be 100 level (college freshman level) or above.

    • @USAirForceRecruiting
      @USAirForceRecruiting  4 місяці тому +1

      Good morning. The joining process is not tough; it just requires some patience, which can take some time. Here is a summary of the process of joining the Air Force and Space Force:
      • Contact your local Air Force or Space Force recruiter. The recruiter will ask you qualification and eligibility questions. Potentially take a practice test in the office. Depending on how well you do will determine if you get scheduled for the real ASVAB.
      • Recruiter schedules you for the ASVAB at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) or MET Site. Your recruiter will review your scores when you return to the recruiting office. If your recruiter tells you that you passed, then he or she will schedule you for the MEPS Exam
      • At the MEPS, your exam will consist of blood work, drug testing, medical questioning about all your medical history, and a full medical exam. You will be asked about any law violations, arrests, convictions, charges, or anything involved with a law enforcement officer. You will be fingerprinted, and a federal background investigator will run your prints and information. You will then discuss your career selections with an Air Force Liaison based on your ASVAB scores, medical exam, and the X-Factor test results (the test is like a deadlift).
      • You will list your careers, and the Air Force Liaison will input your choices into your record. You will be asked if you want to do a 4- or 6-year enlistment. You will then be sworn in with the Oath of Enlistment and enter the Delayed Entry Program at MEPS. After this, you will go back to your recruiter’s office.
      • You will wait for your recruiter to contact you when he or she is notified that you have booked a career based on one of the choices you listed at MEPS. This may take a few days, weeks, or months (it varies). Your recruiter will call you into the office to sign your contract and discuss your career field and the date that you leave for Basic Training. The average time to leave for basic training varies.

      Sach, your GPA does not matter for the Enlisted process. However, for your ASVAB based on Air Force requirements, the minimum Armed Forces Qualifications Test (AFQT) score required for entry on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is 31. However, due to the high number of individuals who are qualified and waiting to depart for Basic Military Training (over 90% of them possessing an ASVAB score over 50 percentile) your recruiter may not be able to process you and may ask you to return when they have space on their waiting list to add new applicants. If you haven't already done so, contact your Air Force Recruiter to discuss your scores and options. Applicants are considered on a best-to-least qualified basis.

      You are only required to do sit ups to graduate basic training
      Fitness Standards Upon Arrival at AFBMT
      You will receive an initial assessment of your physical fitness (1.5-mile run, push-ups, sit-ups, and body composition) during zero-week of basic training. This assessment aids in identifying recruits who are in poor physical condition.
      • Men must be able to complete the 1.5 miles run in 18:30 and women must be able to complete it in 21:35. • Must meet body composition standards. The abdominal circumference of 39.0 inches for men and 35.5 inched for women. If not meeting this, body fat is estimated and the limits are 20% for men and 28% for women. • If you don't meet these two standards, you may be immediately processed for entry-level separation as you are deemed not medically able to complete BMT. • Results of this assessment designate a recruit's physical fitness category. • Privileges may be revoked if you show no signs of improvement. • Recycle action may occur any time a recruit does not improve or fails to meet standards. • Airmen on full PC waivers have the same restrictions as those who fail to improve.

      Graduation Requirements
      The final fitness test is conducted at the end of the 4th WOT/beginning of the 5th WOT (prior to "Warrior Week"). To pass, recruits must meet the following minimum physical fitness standards:
      Males:
      • 1.5 mile Run - 11:57 • Sit-Ups in one minute: 42 for age 29 and under, 39 for age 30-39. • Push-Ups in one minute: 27 for age 29 and under, 27 for age 30-39. • Abdominal Circumference: 35 inches or less
      Females:
      • 1.5 Mile Run - 14:26 • Sit-Ups in one minute: 38 for age 29 and under, 29 for age 30-39. • Push-Ups in one minute: 18 for age 29 and under, 14 for age 30-39 • Abdominal Circumference: 31.5 inches or less
      The push-ups and sit-ups must all be performed with proper form. If you come close but don't pass, you may be given another chance to pass the test the next day.

    • @USAirForceRecruiting

      The ASVAB is only for Enlisted applicants.
      Our Health Professions (HP) careers require specific bachelor/masters/PhD degrees and licenses/certifications, are US citizens and experience to apply. Which means you must already have these specific requirements to apply.
      To be able to apply to be as a psychologist you must meet all the requirements Pam provided. Our Health Professionals are officers and do not take the ASVAB.

      This may be a (potentially) disqualifying matter. All law violations in an applicant’s life (this includes ANY traffic tickets/violations, anything dismissed, dropped, expunged or even sealed as a juvenile) are go through an F.BI. background check for qualifications to join the Air Force. Please contact an Air Force Recruiter nearest to you to discuss qualifying, and options for your situation. Also, you CANNOT have any active warrants, You need to get those resolved in court first, Then we can make a determination to see you would qualify
