I was a flight attendant with the German Air Force from 1982 - 1989. Our training process was pretty similar to yours, but we didn't have to prepare any meals, since the onboard catering was provided by Lufthansa Sky Chefs. Part of our training took place at the Lufthansa Training Center at Frankfurt airport, especially the emergency- and onboard service training. In 1982, Lufthansa German Airlines was still state owned, until fully privatized in 1991. Those years were some of the most exciting ones of my entire life. At that time, back in the 80's, I worked aboard the Boeing 707 (in museums today 😅) and we carried both, military personel, as well as members of the German government, including the President of Germany and the German Chancellor on various state visits worldwide. One moment I will never forget, on one flight with the German Foreign Minister to Poland, he suddenly stood in front of me, reached out his hand to congratulate me for my 3000th flight hour. I will always remember this. In 1989 I left the military and applied to become a flight attendant with Lufthansa German Airlines. I continued in this job until my early retirement in 2015. But still, those Air Force years were far more exciting than the following 'boring' civilian flight attendant years.
I was a flight attendant for the Air Force in the early to middle 80's. I was stationed at Tinker AFB during these times. My original AFSC (605X0) was "Passenger Service" and was a lateral train to "Inflight Passenger Service" (A605X0). I flew for 5 years and would occasionally asked to do flight attendant duty for the 89th out at Andrews AFB, MD. I got burned out cooking, serving, and washing dishes while flying to either Europe or Asia. I was on my feet when wheels came up and didn't sit again the wheels came down! I did get to visit many different and interesting countries throughout the world for free!
After discovering you this answers a heck of a lot of questions I had thought of! Really interesting to see they do the training in house, I thought you would have been sent off to a mainline airline to learn the basics but I am guessing there is more flight attendants in the airforce than I predicted! On another note you make all them uniforms look good.
Thank you for taking us along on your journey. I, among many, never knew the Air Force had flight attendants. My godson was in the Air Force for several years, and when I learned of your channel, I reached out to him, who is in San Antonio. He said yes, and the training was not a piece of cake. Keep up the incredible journey, and keep us informed.
I haven't joined the Air Force yet, but if I had to retrain then id do this job for sure! I feel like id suck at cooking for some reason 😂. Thanks for videos!
Such an inspiring story man! Currently on my journey on finding where I am supposed to be, thank you for your video. Makes me excited and hopeful for the great things that wait ahead!
Wow Frassix 👏 Congratulations on receiving ur wings and thank u for ur service!!! This vlogg was so interesting! My nephew is a Sargent in the Army!!! I just subscribed and am looking forward to seeing more of ur trips and layovers!!! Just wanted to know who are ur passenger s and are they all military personnel? 😍✈
Oh nice! Sorry about the late reply. Congrats to ur nephew!! I’m sure you’re super proud of him! And we have a variety of passengers we can fly - from congressmen to politicians on military leaders - it’s a good variety haha
Im thinking about joining the Air Force and I want to become a flight attendant afterwards, but if I can become a flight attendant in the Air Force I would love that. What type of qualifications did you need to become a flight attendant for the air force? Awesome video btw!
What forms did you need to be eligible for an aircrew job? They came out with some retraining news saying that you can retrain into any AFSC less than 90% manned, do you know how that’s looking for the 1As? It’s currently my dream to get into one of those AFSCs
I really wish you would create two channels. One about your air force life and the other for the music videos. I'm going crazy trying to find your video on SERE training and I havevto go through a multitude of music videos.
Hey! The ASVAB test is given in MEPS to determine how you can best help the Air Force. Based on your score, you’ll be give a list of jobs that you are eligible to train into. Generally, the higher you score, the more jobs you’ll get to choose from! Hope this helps!
@@frassix_youtube it does, Thanks! But what if you get a low score and the list of jobs you are eligible to train for is not your dream job/future is not what you see your self doing for a long period of time what then? and btw you made a mistake in “give”
hmm. Well if you don't score as high as you'd like, I don't believe that you can retest. I'm not too sure. That's something to talk to an AF recruiter about haha. Definitely hit one up that's close to you and schedule a time to talk to one in person! :)
The feeling of "I've been in the armed forces, I don't know how to adult", while understandable, is a shameful reflection of how the armed forces view their service members. It's unsurprising and sad that so many veterans struggle in civilian life after separating from the military.
I’m living in SC. And I’m in the process of getting in AF. Is there part-time job for FA in AF? In SC, there is no FA job in the local base. I really want to be a FA
Not exactly… any Air Force plane the president travels on is Air Force One, any Marine aircraft is Marine One, etc. VP is Air Force Two, Marine Two, etc. If the President happened to fly civilian (which Nixon did once) it would be Executive One. When GW Bush was president he flew out to a carrier on board a naval aircraft and that was Navy One while he was on board. When Biden was VP he rode in a Coast Guard helicopter once and that was Coast Guard Two. Up until Ford or Carter the Marines and the Army would take turns providing the president’s helicopter. When the president was on board an Army helicopter it was called Army One. The Speaker doesn’t routinely fly on military aircraft, although they can with presidential authorization (generally for official overseas trips and not just district visits). They don’t get a special call sign. The Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense also routinely fly on militarily aircraft as does the First Lady, but the other cabinet secretaries and the VP’s spouse usually have to go commercial unless they are on a specific diplomatic trip. There are a variety of planes at the president’s disposal although the 747 is the most famous one. I saw GW Bush fly into a small airport on an Air Force Gulfstream back during the 2004 campaign and I think the Clintons and Obamas routinely used a Gulfstream for their trips to Martha’s Vineyard.
@Rob Scott Untrue, they're actively shipping out flight attendants upon joining the AF. it's not a retrain only AFSC. It's just a very rare job to book

One word of advice so you aren't ridiculed at Scott AFB. The "s" on the end of Illinois is silent. Please say Ill-in-noy

Can I retire in the airforce? I mean if I get this position can I stay until my retirement? Thanks!
Would love to know this too! Reviewing possible jobs with my daughter in hopes of finding her a great match & encouraging a career with AF.
As far as I’m aware, yes! We’ve actually had plenty of people within the past few months retire after being flight attendants for years and years. 😄

When I was in they were call Steward.
Hi, thanks for your video.
I am surprise that tatto allowed as air force flying attendant 😮
Wait, is that just training that you have to be able to cook, or do you actually have to do the cooking in your normal FA duties?
For security purposes, FAs source and prepare meals as part of normal duty, especially for long haul flights on Air Force One and other VIP airlift.
Hey we need attendants in the Marines. You can be the guy that hands out MRE’s

how much is the pay?
In the military, you get paid by your rank, no matter what job you have. However, certain jobs have additional pay, such as flight pay and hazard pay.
