Frigates are a very fun class of ship to play. Also, when I play them, I usually do skirmishes with Imperium ships. The Imperium has been getting on my nerves latley.
thats the beuty of eve. bigger and more expensive are rarely better, but its all about knowledge about weapon systems, sig radiuses and how well different wep apply dmg to the different ship sizes. 4-5 cheap frigates can even take down expensive marauders under the correct circumstances
The only occasion where a frig would actually need a tracking disruptor against Large Guns would be if the target has dual webs or web+grapple. In most cases, especially against Arty/Rails, simply having an AB and web is more than enough. Frees up the mid slot for either extra shield tank, battery/cap booster, or other stuff which might come in much more handy. Is a different story against Large Missiles, however... There a guidance disruptor can become much more efficient - does depend on specific scenarios though... Good demonstration on off-scan probe dropping though, and the necessity to d-scan the target before probing to avoid spooking or at the very least give the shortest possible rection time.
Very good point! Since I was unsure of their fit I didn't want to risk getting Webbed and not having the Tracking Disruption. I figured, if I disrupt them, I will be fine. If I don't they might kill me regardless of the tank I add in that mid slot. Thanks!
@@dacecad Large guns simply sux at tracking so much, especially against frigates. There's a reason why 100mn AC nado needs 2 webs, and even that only works against single web frigates that aren't AB bonused (succubus) - or don't have some other form of speed boost. A single overdrive can ruin all your range/tracking control before you know it. And 10mn fit frigs are... well, you have a chance if they don't know how to turn well, but other than that - frigates will wreck attack BCs most of the time. DO be vary of Nado/Naga/Oracle/Talos with Small Blasters. Those are meme fit for a reason xP
Exactly! That engagement would have ended real quick had the dude been Autocannon fit with Dual Webs (or a Grapple like you say) for some reason. I mean, if you saw his fit, most of it didn't make much sense. It seemed he threw something together at the last minute, but I had no way to know. Better safe than sorry! Glad we are on the same page!@@mikspurins1455
@@dacecad Well, simply guessing opponent's fit can work in most occasions, but for those where you are unsure - looking at their guns can help a lot. Best part - even on potato mode, as long as you have the checkmark on 'Show guns and turrets', you can look at their ship, and if necessary alt+scroll to check what weapons they are using. With some practice, barely takes seconds - and can easily mean the difference between winning a fight decisively, living to fight another day, or dying miserably. IF you know how different turrets look, ofc ;) Granted, only seeing highslots is rather limiting, and you have to keep in mind that Neuts, for example, look like unused mount slots, but simply knowing the main weapon type alone is powerful enough. It informs you of possible ways to negate or mitigate the incoming dmg, which can be simply huge in a fight. Maybe not as significantly as an ignorant Tengu shooting scourge into your t2 gallente hull, but still... As for grapple - those are only limited to BS hulls, BCs can't use them. But I can say from experience - a single grappler isn't nearly enough even with high tracking guns and ammo. At the very least - not against AB frigates... For the most part, drones will be your main way of clearing tackle. And, while grapple+web can be very beneficial in completely pinning down your targets, fitting the duo simply to counter frig threat alone feels a bit wasteful. Not to mention - with such intense slowing down of your target, even with high tracking guns you need to keep mindful of your own speed and transversal. It's not funny just how much dmg one can waste by one's own poor piloting...
Yeah we were doing this over ten years ago, it’s nothing new. Killing tornados in frigates is easy if you spiral into them, keeping transversal up. No need for a tracking disruptor.
Lol man. No. I don't do that stuff. Those are from the in-game "Pointer Window" with "Show Highlights" selected. The Pointer Window allows me to hold Ctrl over a UI element to share into Chat, since I always have Rookie Help open (besides the NETOS Training Program which I run dacecad1.wixsite.com/netostraining ) and share the UI elements as needed to those who ask. You can find the Pointer Window in: NEOCOM Menu -> Utilities -> Pointer Window

That’s super cool and very clever prep for your mission. Nice.
