I'm an old timer and it's pretty unreal to see how (relatively) light and nimble these bikes are given how hard they are being ridden, that's the progress of bike tech though.
It totaly makes sence. Smaller wheels make the bike more agile while in the air. If you combine the 26' back wheel with a custom shorter rear, the bike also get's easier from the ground and rotates way easier. The smaller wheel also can take more abuse. The real thing that should blow some minds is that 29er are boring, mostly if you are a sunday rider, not going on world cup to find the last fraction of a second on brutal terrain. Trust me I have a BMX background :D
Pretty easy to make one, I've got a axs X01 12spd and a mechanical X01 dh mech, so basically just put the DH cage on the AXS and boom, cassette I've made a custom one to perfectly match the 12 speed spacing and gearing i like 🤙I'm no Semenuk but i am pro mechanic
@@lexusstefan927 i did this too. gx axs with gx dh cage. Interestingly, it shifts better on a 7 speed gx dh cassette than on a dura ace 12 speed cassette. With regards to shifting in 7 speed, i use a really long screw for the low limit to avoid the chain from going over the last cog.
Exactly that, Jeremy. He was the only one last year and this time there are three single crown forks. It feels a little bit like the late 2000s again, when everyone at free ride events had that silver totem.
@@Hubertus210 yeah I'm pretty sure there have been plenty single crowns before. Paul Bass is the one that springs to mind. It wasn't new last year, but it certainly turned heads and that's why there are two more this year.

It went together easily in less than an hour. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
They don't have a choice, they give Fox to racers and Marzocchi to freeriders. That's why Brett Rheeder left. If I remember correctly they wouldn't give him any actual Fox parts and he didn't like Marzocchi.

I run 27.5 / 26 mix wheel on an old 2004 Schwinn S40 full sus. Love the wheel set up but frame is way outdated
So is Rheeder
Its nothing new my guy, plenty did last year
Notice they never said anything about the smaller wheels on the video? I wonder why that should be the biggest thing to talk about
No mention of Brandon's short cage AXS derailleur or the what seems to be custom AXS paddle for his sifter.
He's had those derailleurs for so long I'm beginning to think they're not prototypes anymore and just his personal bodge job

that zeb is f'ing massive. 190 travel???

Why do they run their suspension so stiff?
Because of these massive jumps??
So they don't end up with their ankles burried in the dirt
