If the front rider decides to go from one lane position to another while you’re passing and you rear end them...it’s 100% your fault.

    Thanks. Well said. Also these same rules apply to anything, not just motorcycling. For example guitar players:
    1. Give women guitar playing tips (lol HA!)
    2. NEVER touch another player's guitar
    3. Never touch another guitar player
    4. Don't ask to play a stranger's guitar
    5. It doesn't matter that you're right if you're dead
    6. Don't just try randomly jumping in to play in gatherings (or stage settings) of other musicians
    7. Most guitar players are good guys
    (Also read the Bible for even more wisdom)

    I learned a long time ago that even if you have the right away in certain situations you also have the right to die. Motorcycles will never come out on top pushing the right away. You go down you lose, period. I've been hit twice when I had the right of way. In both instances I was moving cautiously and still got the smackdown. So be safe and alert, you might be one the few who are and live to tell the tale.

    Hahaha! good one!
    I have to say that i used to break one of these rules A LOT a couple of years back.
    In Quebec where i live, when you had a learner's permit you needed to have someone who had his license for more than two years to accompany you to be allowed to ride (they since then revoked this stupid rule). Since i was living far from my bike buddies and sometime wanted to go on an evening ride, i would park beside a near road wich is very popular for bike riding and wait for some bike(s) to pass by. I then would just follow them to be "legal".
    When at a red light people asked me why i was following them, i explained and it was always a great laugh. Nobody was ever pissed at me for doing it. I even met a girl doing this, but this is another story...
    P.S. sorry for my grammar, i am a french canadian.

    Here's a rule: Don't judge another rider's choice to go ATGATT. To each his own. I've had plenty Harley riders point and comment. I tell them I'd rather take my chances with the heat than the ground. I don't judge anyone's choice to wear t-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops while riding...even though its probably not the smartest thing to do. I've seen up-close and personal what asphalt does to human skin. Ride safe, everyone.

The problem wasn't the weirdness as they were cool with it and we quickly started chatting and having a good time. The problem was that they liked to cruise....at 120mph. As a woman rider I’m glad no one has done this 😂 I normally get older men coming over cause they wanna look at the bike and shocked that I’m riding it but I find that funny. Only issue being a woman rider is you get noticed everywhere you go for me I’m a shy person so I don’t want to speak to every person that sees me

    Being totally honest I've never really liked supersports or cruisers. For me standard motorcycles, naked bikes, supermotos and enduros makes the most sense. It all depends on what's your riding style so no hate from me.

  • @streetrider11

    I met all my riding buddys by seeing them on the street and chasing them down or vice versa. We all ride dual sports though, could be weird if I tried to chase down Harley guys. Actually I did try that once, they didn't seem to happy.

    I enjoy you guys and I appreciate what you do. I agree on most points except...
    Don't pass me in the same lane, unless I waive you by . Period. (I'm not a slow rider so you would also be speeding excessively)

    • @zo4712
      @zo4712 5 років тому +3

      I'll move to the right of the lane to allow a fellow rider to either ride along, or pass. Just don't pass me on the right of the lane without making yourself & and your intentions known...boneheaded move. Had a sportbike do that at 90+mph...didn't see him coming...scared the absolute bejeeezus out of me. If I'd drifted even slightly, we'd both had been a stain on the road.

    #5 if there is a left turn lane look out for the guy that is gonna run the red. Your light just turned green and you can totally beat everyone off the line. If your SIPDE is set to OFF, you are either gonna get hit or lock the brake and hit the dirt.

    I have always had a saying, that courtesy kills. For example, at an intersection 2 or three cars will be waving me on because I’m on a motorcycle. So I put the kickstand down and stand up and start stretching to let them know. I am not moving. That’s the easiest way to get killed. Someone waving their hand telling me to go is asking to be run over even though I’m sure they don’t mean to do it on purpose it has happened.

  • @richardturner8577
    @richardturner8577 2 роки тому

    That was pretty good but I have found that most groups don't mind if you kinda tag in in the back and ride with them. Unless they're wearing patches or something. It's kind of a safety in numbers thing.

    3:09 - you hear that fellow motorcyclists... you kind of own the whole lane where your vehicle is at... but conversely, so do cars. That's why lane splitting or lane filter is bad form and a dead no. Just don't. You're cutting and you're making everything dangerous for everyone. How would you feel about a car filtering between you on your motorcycle and your buddy on a motorcycle next to you? And a car just passes right between you. You'd be like WTF man....
