The reason why you were able to move in relatively quickly compared to other foreigners, is money. These prices are higher than what most people in Japan even earn.
Ouch, $3,200 a month, I would shed a tear every time I have to write a check for that every month, and if the apartment is not furnished, it would hurt even more.
We lived in the middle of the CBD with multiple rooms/carpark so it's quite normal. We were actually paying the lowest in our building until they decided to increase the rent.
the first was my fav too, really roomy and bright plus the cheapest one lol, but it's awesome that you guys finally found one that felt most comfortable and convenient after waiting so long! excited for all the upcoming vids ❤️❤️
Congrats on your apartment!! Just the little bit of what can see at your new place looks so nice ✨ Btw, happy to see Alex in your video! I watch his channel so it’s nice to see different UA-camrs you like collide
Congraaaaaaats for finding the apartment kiiim! Really cool apartments in general, they are so spacious and pretty! ty for sharing the hunting! It was really fun to watch! 😊
Not only am I laughing at them prices cause I know I'll probably never afford them here in Japan. But also, I got a bit sad cause I'm thinking "Is that what you get for these prices?!". .. Might be just me but I have a serious hate relationship with real estate here
Yeah this doesn’t make any sense if you can afford 5000 dollars a month for an apartment you might as well get a house you’re married for one and a better investment would be a home. But if you can afford it I guess.
Yay! Congrats on the new apartment! Been following your journey for the last couple of months and was hoping that you would find one soon! Can't wait for more of your content! :)
I'm so glad that you found a place to live! I just watched one of Alex's videos and thought about your apartment hunt and this video came up! I really liked the first apartment (LOTS OF STORAGE!) but it's too bad about the location.
At first I was like "wow, so expensive" but then you showed the apartments and it was so big I actually don't think it's expensive for all the space you have (coming from someone who has never looked around for apartments because I'm still living in a dorm).
The apartments were quite large so I agree! Also if you are living with multiple people, you'll be splitting the rent and not paying it by yourself. Eric and I have always split the rent 50/50 even after we got married so we can both at least still have some savings after rent is taken out of our pay checks.
Apartment 4 looks the most spacious i like having space hate small rooms. And i like having large windows and high ceilings too. Also prefer a closed kitchen more than an open up kitchen. And a decent size balcony and privacy and quite too. Renting so expensive. Which one did you get in the end? Apartment 1 is nice too.
I don't think ¥425,000 is normal rent amount, I mean NOT average rent amount. That's incredibly high... 🤔 what kind of job she has in Japan??? That amount is waaaaay higher than monthly wages, that's insane 😒😒😒
I havent watched your channel for awhile, im happy that your still doing well 🥰🥰🥰🥰 5000 dollars a month for rent? :o Did you stay at the Charlton Hotel or something? xD
If it’s not rude to ask, is it possible to know the specs (regarding monthly rent or buy) of the apartment you did end up deciding on? Congratulations on your move! ^^
Congrats to you Kim and Eric on your new place. I have always wanted to go to Japan. Now too old to go now. I have always wanted to go since I was in grammar school back in the 60's. Even when I was in the Navy I tried to get stationed there. No such luck. I got a idea on a video. How about making one on how you both met and fell in love. Love stories are awesome. Who played hard to get? HAHAHAHA Again, congrats on the new place.
I'm going to sail the Mexico first I'm going to buy a chihuahua and then I'm going to sail to Hawaii hopefully by that time the island project will overturn its shares I'll be like balling by the time I get to Japan
I'm going to have the Sterlink satellite so I'm going to be the first UA-camr to live stream my adventure across the Pacific Ocean in real time and I can also do UA-cam from the middle of the ocean
お疲れ様🙂 I understand the situation regarding pets. When one of my family members was apartment hunting outside of Tokyo, the choices for pet-friendly apartments were very limited and one of the salespersons said, "Why don't you not let your dog in?" and it was so rude! My family just laughed it off though. I'm glad you were able to find yours.
@Hannah T there is a housing shortage in Australia & RE Agents can now afford to be very picky & annoying, same for Landlords. It's not going to get better any time soon.
The reason why you were able to move in relatively quickly compared to other foreigners, is money. These prices are higher than what most people in Japan even earn.
for 2 person its normal. you have much high rent in tokyo.
Watching them look at apartments that are double my monthly salary in japan…
$4000 a month?!?! Oh my god
Must be making some serious cash. Even with 14mil yen a year which is executive wage you couldn’t afford these and that’s over double the average wage
We have dual income with no kids so it does make things much easier.
Ouch, $3,200 a month, I would shed a tear every time I have to write a check for that every month, and if the apartment is not furnished, it would hurt even more.
Yeah my sister owns a house of 5 rooms, 3 living rooms and 3 bathrooms and she pays $3000 and thats in California!
You still write checks? Bruh
Wow that is way too expensive for a Japanese standard haha.
Wow $5000 a months in Sydney doesn’t sound right. Way too much!
We lived in the middle of the CBD with multiple rooms/carpark so it's quite normal. We were actually paying the lowest in our building until they decided to increase the rent.

Omg, I remember watching your channel back in the day! Nice to see you back in Japan.
Congrats on your apartment!!
Just the little bit of what can see at your new place looks so nice ✨
Btw, happy to see Alex in your video! I watch his channel so it’s nice to see different UA-camrs you like collide
Apartmen4 is great but I kinda like the vibe of the apartment 1 even if it is empty, it is giving a cheerful vibe haha
Yay Alex! I love him. He’s got good energy. 😊
Congrats on your apartment!!
Love Tokyo Portfolio.
!!!!
Congrats on the new apartment! I absolutely love Japan. I was in Tokyo in 2019 for the very first time. The food the culture everything is amazing.
Finally an apartment hunt!!! The next vlog is an apartment tour?
I’m still setting up but hopefully soon!!
Congraaaaaaats for finding the apartment kiiim! Really cool apartments in general, they are so spacious and pretty! ty for sharing the hunting! It was really fun to watch! 😊

The videos you uploaded are very useful to study English and I can study it enjoyably. And more, you are beautiful. Anyway, I'm rooting for u.

Omg it’s Tokyo portfolio. He’s amazing and funny
Yay! Congrats on the new apartment! Been following your journey for the last couple of months and was hoping that you would find one soon! Can't wait for more of your content! :)
Nice! I love Tokyo Portfolio's videos. I imagine he'd be a pretty good agent
He was great! I love the apartment we got in the end!
@@kimdao That's awesome! 😀
Also, yes! It`s important to think about the whole family happiness and comfort! Hina will be super happy in a bigger apartment for sure!
Yes! The priority was making sure that Hina would be comfortable in the apartment!
Ahh I remember Alex from Chris Broad’s videos! So glad you found him ❤❤ loved the house tours!
Love the gaming set-up! Congrats on the new place!!
Hi Kim, can you please allow the closed captions on your vids? I'm hard of hearing so I need it. Thank you and congrats on your new apt!!! :)
Sorry! I thought I had them up but I think I forgot to publish them. I just did so hopefully it should be available in a few hours!
@@kimdao Thank you so much!
So glad you used Alex!
Wow 🤩 The prices of Japanese apts. was way up too high for me especially if u’re an ordinary employee and earning in minimum bracket 🤔🧐🤨
congrats Kim!!
Seeing all these apartments is making me want to move to Japan again 😵💫
1 & 4 are nice!
This is so exciting!!! I cant wait to see the one you chose!!
Congratulations on your new apartments!
I'm so glad that you found a place to live! I just watched one of Alex's videos and thought about your apartment hunt and this video came up!
I really liked the first apartment (LOTS OF STORAGE!) but it's too bad about the location.
Yeah I LOVE the first apartment! If it wasn't for the location I would've 100% gone for that one
@@kimdao kimdao do you can advise me something ?
hooraayy and congratulations guys! finally moved in to your home away from home 💖 i bet stress levels are down by 50% now 😁
Hina will love the new place! Congratulations finally yay :)
😠

The first one was my fav actually
Congratulations on the new apartment.
Happy you the three off you got an apartment. 🥰👍🐕
Apartment one seems amazing for Japan wow
Oh my gosh , I just converted price to AUD and nearly fell over 😮😮😮! So expensive compared to Australian rentals for the size
Is the Japanese minimal wage higher ?
It’s actually quite comparable to Sydney CBD prices I think
@@kimdao I love Japanese houses ! We did an air bnb a few years ago and it was incredible
congratulations ! Im loving the Japan blobs
I don't think ¥425,000 is normal rent amount, I mean NOT average rent amount. That's incredibly high... 🤔 what kind of job she has in Japan??? That amount is waaaaay higher than monthly wages, that's insane 😒😒😒
It’s less than what we paid in Sydney for rent. Our apartment was going to be increased to $6000 a month which is 563,000yen.
How long are you staying in Japan? Doesn’t it make sense to buy rather than rent at those prices?…unless you’re only there for a year🤷🏻♀️
Hi Kim,
Where is your black cardigan from thank you
imm jus so geekd off a perc rn wtf thissa
Congrats, Kim! ~Mikio ☺️✌️💚
I havent watched your channel for awhile, im happy that your still doing well 🥰🥰🥰🥰
5000 dollars a month for rent? :o
Did you stay at the Charlton Hotel or something? xD
It’s just Sydney prices haha
If you can afford theses amounts might as well buy a house.
Absolutely loved every minute of this video. Outstanding Job. $$$$ is always number 1 for me. Top floor 2 and near train 3.
Congrats on finding an apartment!
Thank you!
First one was also my favorite. Also our rent was soooo cheap it was insane XD
A garbage disposal in JAPAN?! (I’m from the US, it normal to have them) but my jp apartment didn’t have one… that’s pretty good 👍
Yeah I didn’t know what it was because we don’t have them in Australia, we were told it’s more of a US thing!
If it’s not rude to ask, is it possible to know the specs (regarding monthly rent or buy) of the apartment you did end up deciding on? Congratulations on your move! ^^
Did u and the agent actually got permission from all the owners to film their apartments and post them on your UA-cam channel?
Can you share some tokyo recommendations!!! ☺️☺️
Soon!!
流石です!
So Kim, I am just wondering how come you and Eric look for apartments and not houses as well our house is more expensive in Japan then apartments
*Do you like Japan? So I'm sure that you will love my music instrumentals! 😊*
Those prices can't be right.. who would even pay that... jesus christ
Kim Dao, you are so gorgeous!
❤️❤️
I would like to watch some videos about Japanese clothes and cosmetic. However I love all your videos
I will try do some soon :)
Congrats tho!
You’ve been feeding us Kim 😩. We’ve been so spoiled with the amazing content.
Nossa que aluguel carissimo ...

Great
Waaaaaaaiiiiiit! But I wanna see the apartment you picked!!!!
Do you know a real estate broker for Tokyo Japan apartment?
Dream apartment 🤗
I'm going to sail the Mexico first I'm going to buy a chihuahua and then I'm going to sail to Hawaii hopefully by that time the island project will overturn its shares I'll be like balling by the time I get to Japan
I really like the 1st one out of the 4. Really need a stable income to live in these apartments.
Probz comparable modern unit prices as Darling Square, Haymarket 🤔
Yeah it’s very similar prices
Yay congratulations!! Cause you know as much as we love our husbands….and in my case our kids….we really need our own space too 😅
so true LMAO
“I dunno how we survived” girl…
I'm going to have the Sterlink satellite so I'm going to be the first UA-camr to live stream my adventure across the Pacific Ocean in real time and I can also do UA-cam from the middle of the ocean

Thank you! And yes with a dog that isn't small... it cuts down the apartments we can apply for by 75% haha..
Congratulations! 🥳🎈 it looks very spacious; which is hard to find in japan… ⛩️ Wishing you good fortunes! 🌤️🌸
"Te ha hablado Dross y te deseo buenas noches"
The rent is so high for such a small apartment
Hope I can get an apartment in Tokyo in the future 🙏🎐
Hope so!
What sites you look on to find apartments
You can use realestate.co.jp or suumo if you can read Japanese
When I tried to hunt an apartment in Australia, it was not easy. The real estate agents are very annoying and picky
Yeah Australia has been hard I heard. When we moved in Australia it wasn't during peak times so we got lucky
@Hannah T there is a housing shortage in Australia & RE Agents can now afford to be very picky & annoying, same for Landlords. It's not going to get better any time soon.
Am I understanding correctly that you didn't get any of these 4 apartments? But you found one (obviously), just not one of these you showed.
Yes, I didn’t get any of these apartments. They were nice but weren’t perfect
How do I find the first apartment it’s so nice
You can try searching on realestate.co.jp or suumo if you can read Japanese!
Congratulations on getting your apartment in Japan! But ouch! It is not any cheaper than Sydney 😅
❤️👏
いいね!😊
We pay 1050€ Rent in Austria Bregenz with Cat and Dog accepted
Have you thought about buying a place in Japan?
No, I don’t plan to live here forever and Japan isn’t exactly the best place for investment properties
Definitely buy a house or condo when you move back to AUS so you can get some equity in something.
We already bought one a few years ago!
Why your face glow so much 🤗
Haha I’ve been trying to get my skincare up and going since we moved haha
We lost without you in genshin come back 😭

5k per month in Sydney 🥲 is that because you are paying off a mortgage? Or is that for an actual rental property?
Also from Sydney too 👋
