I really respekt this channel. Im buying a kilburn. I watched near all EN reviews of it on yt. This guy is the only one honest and professionaly prepared of them all. Thanks a lot for Your work. I like music that You play on tests, despite that not my fav vibes.
Only Danny pops, Oluv's gadgets and Alan Ross Reviews are genuine reviewers of sound quality. Bought Marshall Stockwell 2 based on reviews from these three. Top purchase, loving it
I'm sold on the Stockwell 2. It's not ideal for party levels but I think it sounds great for moderate listening. As far as the Killburn 2, while it may be better than the Stockwell 2 at max volumes I think there are better options for the price. Thanks for another outstanding comparison, Alan! 😁👍👏
The speakers can look fancy and impressive and sometimes even have all the latest hardware but if the tuning is off it's a fail imho. Tribit sent Oluv a sample of the upcoming Tribit XSound Mega. After some constructive criticism Tribit updated the firmware and he got some positive results after the update. I think it's supposed to be available sometime in October to the general public but that one might be worthwhile for you to check out when you can get it. Also, there is an upgraded maxsound plus that can now pair in TWS. Not sure if the tuning is the same or not, though.
The upgraded edition is available now for $59.99 with a $6.00 off coupon on Amazon US . If you're not seeing it I'm guessing it hasn't made it to the UK yet.
I got a Stockwell II for my flat and for staying in hotel rooms. Friggin fantastic gear. Also, I bought the original Kilburn for my daughter about 8 years ago, and let me tell you that is a beast! It's got beautiful rich sound and goes pretty deep. So each has it's own purpose I suppose. I can't throw the Kilburn into my backpack, but I can with the Stockwell. Either way, they're really good
You seriously know your stuff! Thank you so much for such an entertaining and informative review. Last kilburn got stolen and have to say the size of it is really inconvenient. Think i’m sold on the stockwell :)
Marshall Stockwell 2 sounds really great, and yeah, I have only SBC, but sometimes I connect a FiiO BTR5 DAC on the AUX input and it helps the speaker to get a lil bit louder and it has the most important bluetooth codecs like aptx HD and LDAC. I had other portable speakers that were louder, but the sound of Stockwell 2 is unique and the instruments sound better(especially the guitar) when we listen to music.
eyeing on stockwell2 for a while now as i'm itching to buy another bts. How's the volume when compared to denon envaya 250 or even the uboomL? are these speakers significantly stronger than the stockwell2? btw, is it still good to buy stockwell2 in 2022 or maybe there's a new model coming?ty
Thanks for another great comparison review, Alan. Stockwell 2 seems to be the natural choice due to portability advantage. I ordered edifier r1700bt just to see how bookshelf speakers differ from the average Bluetooth speakers. Fun time ahead 😀
Thank you very much. I like stock well but it is too silent at maximum volume. Beside these what can you advice me as good speaker also with aux exit ? Stockwell dimensions are better for my use . 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for the awesome comparison Alan, been struggling to choose between these two speakers 🧐🧐, is Stockwell 2 enough to fill a medium room? Btw, just wondering will Kilburn 3 be released anytime soon?
Your reviews are the most detailed and informative and definately honest. Will you be doing a review about the Marshall tufton? Any thoughts on the tufton and woburn 2?
its a more sober listen, middleton is nice below 50% for bass heavy sound but is lost after that. the issue really is the silly price. stockwell 2 is a pleasant more accurate listen
Been waiting on this one Alan 😙 My prediction before I watch this is that the Stockwell should be the better all around speaker, but will not be that loud.
Need to buy you a beer before I go broke buying speakers. I now have enough to create my own channel. Unfortunately, I not as entertaining as you are. Another great video.
@@alanrossreviews At home, I have 4-2 stereo set up with minirig. In the garage, I listen with JBL partybox 100. On the go, I take around the soundcore select plus. I use the Marshall Stockwell II in the bathroom.

Out of curiosity, does the Kilburn 2 make a sound when it goes into standby mode? The Stockwell 2 (my beloved companion) does not, the Emberton does, apparently.

I got so sick of these "Bluetooth speaker companies" and their games! like JBL giving you less for your money. Mono, no auxiliary input, and overpriced! I bought an SMSL SA300 / Infineon Class D Amplifier using some old bookshelf speakers I had lying around the house. and I'm quite happy with the outcome for my desktop...tone controls, preset equalizer settings, Bluetooth 5.0, and power to spare! for portable outside use, I have a JBL Charge3, Flip4, 2 Earfun go's, and an Ultimate Ears Wonderboom. it does open up the track and adds just a touch of reverb 👍
Stockwell uses D-class amp, so DAC -> Aux -> ADC -> D-class Amp, it could make your sound worse I guess.
Really not sure what one im going to get been eyeing a Kilburn for a while now but the stockwell might just steal it! Thanks Alan!
for me the kilburn sounded all over the place but some love it,. still happy with my stockwell.

its a more sober listen, middleton is nice below 50% for bass heavy sound but is lost after that. the issue really is the silly price. stockwell 2 is a pleasant more accurate listen
I prefer the one that can handle bass to max volume, it just easier to adjust or make it balance at any volume with third party EQ.
fair enough.
Love to hear your opinion on the laney f67 if you can get your hands on it!

Thanks for the comparison-I just bought a stockwell 2 but I think it’s a fake - does yours make a guitar sound when you turn it on?

im not sure. id have to sit and wait for it to shut off 🙄

weird things happen on my videos as you know 🙈🙈
If stockwell2 cost the same as the motion plus then which one will you pick?
motion plus just more options, stockwell 2 more relaxing.
