Nice to have you back (again) Rob, looking forward to seeing your new business go from strength to strength. You inspire complete confidence in every job you do. Cheers James
Interesting to see the steel beams being used. Would have been good to see a bit more on how they are fastened to other stuff such as the existing ceiling joists.
Fantastic great to see you installing steal again I’m glad you’ve got your own system, now you can head for the stars as your the man behind the original company and it’s you people think of , and now you can’t be stopped,, congratulations to you , you deserve the success that’s coming 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Robs teeth and hair. woww. How much could i expect for a similar conversion now.I'm Based in Devon. Should have had mine done when you came back from abroad.I do plumbing & heating and could do the rest of the insulation and plumbing ect.
Really good to see you back Rob, been missing your posts and enjoyed seeing them, this one is top class and would love to have this in my home, what a cracking job. Look forward to seeing future posts....
Great way to convert a loft, it would be useful to show a thermal imaging survey when finished to see if the beams are insulated into the envelope to prevent thermal bridging.
Nice to see you using rubber on the roof. We have it on our extension. I watched the roofers do it and felt confident enough to re roof my garage with it.
We tried to get rob to do our loft when he was working with Ecotruss. So glad.he is shot of them. They were a nightmare to deal with. And we ended up going with a traditional system. Good luck to you rob!
@@builditwithrob hi rob, in the end, we went down the traditional route. Ecotruss stitched us right up with design phase. They clearly ignored the agreed and approved plans and just used someone else's loft and tweaked it. Then when challenged about it they claimed the £2k design fee. I had to threaten litigation to get it back. Nightmare.
I used to build kits for flats and houses with the same frames and its crazy what can be build with them . I was using the scotsdale machines and shocked it never took off more to be honest .Looks exact same profile of their 90 machines. We used to use the 140 profile for the joists for extra strength.
Welcome back Rob, look forward to more of these videos. Hope your design comes to Northern Ireland cause I wanna do a conversion with a dormer on my detached property.
Great to drop onto your channel. I am just designing a full second floor conversion using steel. Not sure how the planning dept. is going to feel as I know of no other house in our area with a design like mine. I have designed steel roof conversions for years so a full build will be interesting to do. Thanks for you time to do these vids.
Mate, that looks amazing already! 🍻Quality construction and grand attention to detail that is! Interested to know if that is an aluminum frame or galvanized steel? Either way, way better than timber for the conversion. Cheers from Suffolk, East Anglia! 🇺🇸🇬🇧 I’ll have to contact you for our loft conversion. 😉
Hi mate, how would you insulate this system? You couldn't use PIR as fitting correctly between the studs and rafters would be impossible. If you used a "mineral wool" type insulation the thickness required to meet building regs would be much greater than the depth of the studs/rafters. The best and most efficient way would be to fit PIR boards to the external side of walls and roof. This would dramatically improve heat loss and limit thermal bridging through the metal frame structure. Cheers mate 👍

Nice design tweak removing the need for furring strips. Thanks for the video, I've missed these.

Nice to see you back on the channel Rob, Those Floor cords and rafters look a much better and stronger design than the Ecotruss ones.

Fab stuff as always, dont see you often enough. Cannot wait for the next one.

I can see a lot of advantages in a steel frame system. Maybe next year I will try to do one.
Great to see you back lad 👍

Glad you move on mate keep up the work just recommend you to someone x

Hey 👋 really happy with hair and teeth
Not had any problems at all
@@builditwithrob looks good! Just trying to get the nerve to get mine done!
The system looks great Rob bet those beams can take some weight! Good to see K still causing havoc 😂
Anyone thinking about this? its a GO from me
Thanks Mike 👍
great design rob some thought through improvements over the system you were using before ....
Thank tou
First thought, any mistakes made in measuring just leave the steel outside and even 10 years down the line it's still almost new - nice.
Glad to have u bake love the video pal
Thanks Jason
Love it Rob. What an amazing kit.
Great job
I'm your big fan
Great to see you back Rob, I've missed your builds mate...

5 days? Some serious graft that. The lost system looks great.

Yes rob having it largeeee
brilliant mate
It’s like UA-cam is reading my mind. We are in the market for a conversion and this looks interesting
This looks incredible Rob! Superb job. I am wondering whether you cover Northern Ireland at all.
Intelligent improvements nice!
Fantastic
Looks like a really good method and probably lighter than timber. I wonder if the steel is protected, zinc coated, even a little rust would weaken it.
I see others have asked - how will the thermal insulation be achieved, especially around the steel rafters?
Great vid mate. Good to see you back. How much did the customer pay for the loft kit? Without install? Good to hear you've gone solo bud 👍
Nice to see you to see you nice!! Welcome back what is the minimum head height please?
The minimum head height is 2440mm
We want more videos rob 🤣👍
We have lots being edited mate
Great to see you back Rob. Any Hummer updates forthcoming?

I was thinking the same. a warm roof would be best but hard to finish maybe. Or Spray Foam the inside but I wouldn't use it myself not a fan
