- How To Build Your Own Boom Sprayer
This is a basic concept of How To Build Your Own Boom Sprayer. This will work for most applications depending on the machine used for the build.

There is an Allett Dealer in Arizona that's selling Allet mowers at a very good price. If you want to check it out you can use this link - www.productsathorizon.com/alle...
Pete pro tip. Install a ball valve at each of the pivot joints so you can isolate one side of the boom arm. Say you want to not spray full width, Leave one boom arm up and close the valve. Now you have an offset sprayer.
Dropped the Drop! Ah man!
Yeah. That was devastating!!!
Glad to see you getting into yard painting. I just painted my Bermuda today. Can’t wait to see you doing some big areas with your boom. Im only doing smaller residential properties.
That Boom Buddy is the 2022 best tool yet. Thanks Pete. Awesome video.
Sweet day in the morning THAT is one cool looking rig! Nice work, Pete, and God bless.
Awesome Rig - I had a Kawasaki mule with a 100gallon tank and a 18ft boom sprayer on the back to spray my big celebration bermuda estates. Problem was that thing had terrible turning radius and was heavy and bulky. The zero turn makes things so much easier to get into those tights places.
Yo Pete!
Nice, thanks Pete for sharing
Spilled Sundrop is indeed occasion for mourning. Been drinking it since I was a kid! :)
... sun drop casualty! That one hurt ..... (maybe it shouldn't have DROP in the name lol) That looks like one badass spray boom. GCI PATENT PENDING? Should be.... time to get into manufacturing. :)
Working on it. 😝
Sweet setup.
Imagine somebody actually wanting grass in their yard that you need to "Paint" in the wintertime.. 😂 🤣
Enjoy your weekend man!
That. Is. Amazing.
I like the design for the folding part of the boom. Nozzle spacing not always same as nozzle height. Spacing is determined by the angle of the fan pattern for the chosen boom height to achieve about a 50% overlap. The nozzle mfg will state the desired overlap. Movable nozzle mounts along the entire boom as well as adjustable boom height allow you the most versatile setup for most any nozzle configuration.without compromising the pattern.
Good morning g Pete! 👊🏼
I made one with I think they call them teejet nozzles that clamp on 1/2 inch pvc pipe, man you talking about a simple made boom , works like a charm on back of my atv
That’s an awesome idea! One thing just to fix that lean, maybe put two poles at optimal distance from ground and wheels on the bottom.
That boom for the backpack sprayers looks very intriguing! What if you were to add some short aluminum arms at a 45° on each side of the quick connect that can clamp on to the wand to keep it from rotating?
Watch those booms around trees, etc. I use a pull behind sprayer and the booms fold horizontally. I've hit trees, swingsets, poles, etc. And they go right back into place
I love it when you fabricate products in the videos. My brain is turning to try and find a way to stabilize that handheld boom for the backpack sprayer.
I came up with a decent way. When I make a video using that boom I’ll show you.
Nice setup! Is there a ride on sprayer/spreader that prefer to others? I'm a start up using a flowzone with your sprayer tip and a walk behind spreader. As I grow, I'll need a stand on and was wondering what you might suggest. 95% of my customers have .25 acre lots. I might get a half acre or full acre lot once in a while.
Hey Pete. If you paint tall fescue for events does that keep those grass blades from continuing to grow? Also, can you wash out the paint from the sprayer equipment to use it for fertilization and pesticide spraying for example?
I have a little over 88k feet in my yard. That boom would come in handy. Trying to find a heavy duty pull behind sprayer has turned up the fact that there are none, at least not that my google searches have located. Enjoy your weekend Pete!
Send me an email about this sir.
@@GCITurf I sent you a message through GCI webpage just now. Thanks Pete!
@@littlefinkle7757 email it please. I don’t track FB or IG messages.

@@GCITurf done. I don't have FB or Instagram. Still using a plain old flip phone 😁 Thanks Pete. I submitted it through the link.
You have to cut the first minute and turn it into a short or whatever UA-cam is calling it
But anyways glad to see your video today
I hope Scag sends you a machine to do a full test on.. it sounds healthy coming through the door.
You might want to include a wrist stabilizer like how some powerful slingshots have.
sorry if you already covered this question but what is the gallons per minute pump rating ?
Pete, I believe your green nozzle sprays 8 ft wide. What's the spray width on this boom? I've got 27k sq ft, very interested in this.
Apologies if I missed it, but what nozzle tips do I use for my dyi boom build? Looks like yours are from your nozzle buddy kit?
Thanks for the video on this Pete!
I’m wanting to mount like a 40 gallon boom sprayer tank to the 3 pt hitch on the back of a Ventrac. Curious to hear your thoughts on this idea. I believe the weight comes in under the 800 lbs capacity. I also have the 12v power connection on the back for a 12v pump. Thinking i’ll need a 4.5-5.5 gpm pump for a 12’ boom with 7 nozzles. Also think i’ll end up needing to put some weight on the front to counter balance the tractor. Think it can handle it?
I have a 50G 3 point boom sprayer for my ventrac. Email me and I’ll send you the details
@@GCITurf awesome thanks!
Looks like old Arthur is getting more than just me.
Another great video!! Calibration question. I have a 30 gallon pull behind boom sprayer with 3 nozzles. With my mower at its lowest speed I can cover 1 acre with 15 gallons of what. Is that enough water to "carry" whatever chemical I'm using?? Thanks for your time!
I love low volume spraying but that’s a little low for me. I’d try and do at least .5G/1000
I have a small boom sprayer, my issue is the calibration of it and knowing what speed/amount is coming out... I will get there someday...
I don't know whether lawn painting will cause business to (wait for it) boom, but on a similar note, scouting the web turns up a creative few, who've painted their lawns from the American flag to their NFL favorite football team to whatever else. I guess the sky's (or ground's) the limit as long as their HOA's aren't hemorrhaging from it. :/
Pete, can you send me a sprayer to test out? 😜😁
Second!
Made in Wisconsin
Noooooooooo, that's Sundrop abuse 🤣
why not make a video of doing this on a 42 in. cut riding lawnmower like most people have. THAT will get you more reviews. and show video of it in use on a hilly yard or something. thats real life! bet people would eat that up.
My life is pretty real. Lol. Yes I have a video planned of a smaller version.
Taxi 🤣🤣🤣
Come on man.... Be careful with your Sundrop.
Always a good video when you can throw the term “boo coos” in there 🤣🤣
