Is it worth it? Should you just pay a shop?

Looks awesome and you saved thousands doing it yourself and learned a lot about your tiger.

I’m doing an Airtex interior now on my 1979 Tiger. Very good video and your right skill and time.

Fantastic work! How difficult was the canopy removal and plastic restoration and painting? N115JE's interior could use some love... Also, is it flyable while the interior trim and plastics are removed (obviously with the canopy back on)?

You need 2 people to move the canopy. The plastic repairs were a learning experience and took time, but I'd say it's easy now that I have some experience in it. Painting is the easiest part of it all. It covers all your mistakes.
I didn't try to fly with everything out but I'd say as long as you do a weight and balance check, stay in the rectangle, should definitely be doable

Just received my kit from Airtex for 1979 Tiger. Looks nice, but your right about no instructions. Is the dense 1/2" silver backed rubber foam for the canopy and rear headliner? The regular 1/2" foam sheet for the sides?

If you're referring to the optional sound proofing, each piece will fit each area almost perfectly. When you pull the interior you'll be able to see what goes where like puzzle pieces.

Where did you get the Grumman logos done? Are they embroidered into the material or badges? I asked Airtex but they don't have this.

Once I got the seat covers from Airtex, I had a local embroidery shop sew the logos on. Any shop that does Letterman Jackets should be able to handle it. I got the artwork itself from a Google search.

About 1 day a weekend for About 2 1/2 months by myself. I took my time and was learning along the way.
