So your just gonna bore one cylinder? And not all of them. I've got a similar problem but I was told I have to send the cylinder off because the cylinder is coated with something either that or do the exchange. But I just wanna put it back the way the way it was. It's a 2001 kawasaki ultra 150 no compression on cylinder 1 due too a ring breaking and scaring the cylinder on one side
If you have a nikasil coated cylinder then their advice is correct. I ended up not having to bore any of the cylinders I just honed them out and it was still within tolerance. Check out the rest of the videos.
@@irabodeker6169 thanks for the reply. I seen part 2 and your cylinder is way worse then mine. I wonder if I could get by with just honing it as well the ring broke only on one side so only one side of the cylinder is damaged but it is a pretty deep gash.
@Seth'sChopShop thanks for the reply cylinder 1 is the one with no compression. Cylinder 2 and 3 are fine. 120 plus psi. The ski only has 42 hours on it. I'm just curious about this nikasil can I fix the cylinder itself then send it off for nikasil. Or is it better to just buy a used cylinder.
Yes that part is rather tough. Check out my other videos I numbered them in the order of process. One of those videos covers exactly the issue you're having and should make it much easier for you.
turn the damn music down so we can hear you!
how do you determine how much can be honed or bored over and how do you get new piston/rings to match that size? thanks
Great video it really helped but I had to suffer through that aweful music to watch it.
Only one song I liked lol
The rain is making it harder to hear not the music
Honestly where does these part go we can figure it out
