Great, you showed us what you were going to do, then you showed us what you had done. Wonderful stuff. One small problem though - YOU DIDN’T ACTUALLY SHOW US HOW TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE HOSE! Geeze 🙄 On to find another one. 🤪
Hi , I would like to know if there is a leakage in power steering pump and hydraulic pipe, should I repair it or should I replace it with a new one , need your urgent reply please thanks
Any idea how much power steering fluid to use to fill it back up after this hose is swapped? Honda sells you a little container of about 3 teaspoons at a time.
Sorry I missed your question!!! I used the method of filling it to line with top. Off. With the front in the air so you can rotate it back and forth. This will push air out and you can get the right top off measured from upper line
ACTUAL REMOVAL OF PS LINE NOT SHOWN ESP. COMPRESSION FITTING THAT CONNECTS TO PS RACK W/C IS THE HARDEST PART FOR THAT 14 MM FITTING IS PRETTY FROZEN TIGHT.
Yep it is very hard to break. It’s been a while but I can tell you it was hard getting it on the fitting due to the space. I tried from top/bottom but finally got it free. Sorry no video but I was filming it myself at that time by hand with iPhone.
Yup, I just did it today and it was rough. I was starting to strip it out, fortunately I was able to get a little pair of vice grips on it and got it off. 🤬
Got 05’crv and I’m gonna do it myself I’ve fixing my cars but the line where’s the 14 mm nut looks that it’s gonna be so tight and I’m hoping the pump it’s not ruined cause I’ve hating a noise thinking I was the compressor but the fluid was to low
Was there fluid in the power steering tank? It might be ok if so. It could have gotten some air in the lines which could cause the noise. Those hose down near the firewall was hard to break loose, but if you read the other comments there are updates from others to make it easier. It was hard for me!!!😀😀😀 To get air out of the system by putting the front end on jack stands, take top off the power steering reservoir, and turning the front wheels from lock to lock each direction.
@@CommonGuy yeah but it was low but I didn’t feel anything weird in the stering while driving just the noise like a bearing something like that but I thing got some air from the leak I’m hoping the pump it’s okay did you buy the oem hose or aftermarket? I’ve outing oem parts on this car but haha those hose I don’t know and for the air yeah did that once to get the air out when I replace the fluid
I have links in the description of the items I purchased, but I try to get OEM parts if I can get them fast and at a reasonable price. This CRV was just a weekend vehicle I used for arrowhead hunting & metal detecting, I didn't drive it a lot. Make sure you get Honda power steering fluid!!! I let my brother use my CRV before and he used another type and my pump did start leaking.
@@CommonGuy I always use fluids from Honda just the motor oil I used the one I like and yeah Honda are sensitive with any other fluids I had Honda power steering fluid

@@AfricanFlightStar I used the crows foot flare wrench and a socket wrench from top if I’m not mistaken. The main thing is the tools used.
Hey man great video. But mine is leaking a lot around the hoses but how do I know if it’s also my power steering pump as well
I didn't have any leaks when I still had it. But sold to my lawn guy as I didn't need it anymore. Bought my wife a new one and took her 2008 CRV.

How did you take off the sensor?? I having trouble with mine
Julian Barrios I unclipped the sensor and once I got the hose loose on both ends and sensor clip loose I was able to work the sensor outside of car.
Excellent video👍👍💪
Thank you! 👍
How do you take off the sensor?
I got the hose lose and then removed the sensor. Sorry for late response but I’m not getting notified about them. I have to check my settings.
Part number?
The link to the part on Amazon is the 1st link in the description.
