    Doing a great bro. I have had many super beetles (flat and curved windshield). Don’t hesitate to reach out if you get in a bind. I frequently visit Florida and do visit VW Darrin and CT. I can always swing by to give you a hand.

    Nice work john, one tip: clean those ground good and grease them a little for good contact.
    And yes it's nice to see that this community helps each other out when they have issues.
    As a starter on UA-cam posting video's, its has opened a world for me. Only one goal here: helping others working on their cars and if they struggle? Then the video's of all UA-camrs can help them.

    Hi, hmm speaking of super beetles, the process of alignment is the same as a normal beetle?
    Your wire vides had been really helpful with my 71, greetings

    • @Volkswagenplanet
      @Volkswagenplanet  2 роки тому +1

      Your welcome on the wire diagrams. I learned A lot doing that series. As far as alignment, yes. You adjust the tie- rods up front. They have different type suspensions. All you can adjust is toe- in and out. Hope that info helps. Thanks again for the kind words. If you need help in the future feel free to reach out. I hope to get back in the garage soon. Take care, stay safe.

      @@Volkswagenplanet Yeah, thanks to those I've learned to read the diagrams and fix some issues with the lights or my starter
      And about the alignment, it's because my SB has the strut spring like... 5mm away but only in the driver side, the co has like an inch or something, but I don't know if that's the normal layout or if there's something wrong
      Anda finally, same, bro, stay safe these days

    Hi there nice work can you tell me what book s are you using

    • @Volkswagenplanet
      @Volkswagenplanet  3 роки тому +1

      I'm using official service manual by Bently. The wire diagrams are located in there as well. I also use JBUGS.COM for wire harness diagrams as well. I will be doing more electrical here in the next few days. Hope this info helps you out. If you have any questions, just ask. We also have a VW GROUP FACEBOOK PAGE AS WELL. Thank you for your information I have the beently book but just can't understand all of it I am still trying to find wiring diagram for the steering column as well 😅

    • @Volkswagenplanet
      @Volkswagenplanet  3 роки тому +1

      @@ugleykitch9521 the problem I think your having is the harness that plugs into the ignition switch. The best of my knowledge you can't buy it. If you can find a spot let me know. Are you wanting to know where the wires connect from the steering wheel? I was thinking about doing a series on that like I did with the fuse box. I could do a few videos on that as well. I will start to look and see if I have a harness in my electrical box to use as a prop. Basically the wires send power from the switch outwards. It powers the coil, fuel sending unit.......

    • @Volkswagenplanet
      @Volkswagenplanet  3 роки тому +1

      @@ugleykitch9521 I understand what your asking know. I made videos on the fuse box, which details the top of the steering column in the manual. Your asking about the wires and the locations on the bottom of the wire diagram on the steering column. Let me take a look at that tonight when things calm down a little around here. I will message you back in a few hours. Thanks for reaching out. I will help you get this resolved.

    So I know you had the issue, and it may be a dumb question, but I’ve got a problem with my 72 super with ignition. I’ve put in a hard start relay, no dice. I can take the wire and jump it directly to the battery and it tries to star. So this means my starter is probably good it’s a wiring issue then correct? So somewhere between the ignition and back to the relay i have an issue, where should I start?

    • @Volkswagenplanet
      @Volkswagenplanet  3 роки тому

      Do you here a click sound from the engine area when you turn the key? If you hear a click sound then its the starter selanoid. Pull the starter out and have it benched tested at your local parts store. There is really not much it could be.

    • @jordancurry8779
      @jordancurry8779 3 роки тому

      No click sound, im assuming you mean from the idle cut off valve? I don’t have one, my engine isn’t original to the car. It’s a single port either 1500 or 1600 from another vehicle without any identification numbers on the gen/alternator stand. It has a 30 pic 1 carb on it. It’s gotta be wiring but I am terrible with that side of things, I can tear down anything mechanical, but when it comes to electrical im lost.

      Ps: thank you for responding!!
      And it ran and drove fine when I bought it, I had to park it for awhile while I waited on the title. I just put a new battery in it as well. Lights, turn signals, hazards, all work btw.
