Brother I've been knee deep in the dots for years. Started on the SWE tiktoks, fell down the bash rabbit hole... I didn't see javascript til I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but bloated.
Yes, your sparks shader was not working correctly. It works and looks great on my M4 MBP. And, it’s actually one of the ones I do use frequently as it’s not too intrusive.
@@act0r399 That’s why I don’t configure a background image or transparency in the terminal, I just let my window manager, yabai in this case to handle that. I have a video about that as well, if you’re interested
Why? Just, why? It may be interesting for 5 minutes, but I'd bet you'll never use it again. I certainly won't. UA-camrs made so much hype about Ghostty but, in the end, it's just another terminal, no better no worse than Kitty, Alacritty or Wezterm.
I love WezTerm, still use kitty on the right though, and there's a shader I keep on all the time, the bloom25. The rest of them, are just for fooling around 🤣
A good use would be to make it so that color code 8 when used as a background renders at 50% transparency, but a background with color code 9 has 20% transparency. This could be used to have different transparency levels on different panels in say Tmux. Or have a very transparent neovim, but when dialogues pop up they aren't as transparent. This is something the other terminals such as alacritty does not support and it's not a gimmick like fireworks and snow
Two reasons; Accessibility and because we can. The former is functional and the latter is decorative. I haven't used Ghostty but I had a look at the devlogs and they're interesting. There are some features there you won't find in the other terminals all combined.
how about you list your hobbies and I’ll ask why you do them. some people enjoy configuration and the rest of us get to see what’s possible and benefit from the time they put in
Ghostty is nice, but I still have really hard time understanding the benefits compared to iTerm2. Even when it comes to speed (no, iTerm2 is not "slow").
@GoolagThemTube I explained in another video why I switched from intern to Alacritty. The real question for me though, is: “Should you switch from WezTerm to Ghostty” Or even Kitty to Ghostty. If you’re interested in that other video, here it is ua-cam.com/video/Lk3D4GtIEsU/v-deo.html

Instead of this, they can just add background image support
