In this series, we take a look at the mix for the track Curtains by Arcane Roots. This is part 1 of 4 which focuses on the drums.
'Curtains' was the first single from their second album ‘Melancholia Hymns’. The album was released in September 2017 and got to number 6 in the UK Rock and Metal Charts.
The album was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Chris Coulter at Decimal Studios.

Great video dude. When you were editing the tom samples to match the live recording, say on fills, that must take a while? What do you do to make it as accurate as possible? Or is it just practice and time?

Hey Ben, thanks for your question. You are right it can take some time. On this particular session the fills weren't that complex so it was rather quick using pro tools tab to transient command. On other sessions I may well just leave the fills and just replace the last tom hit. In a future video I will go through the editing process so make sure you are subscribed! Thanks Chris
