Dominique Benn, this is an outstanding documentary. So much of the fact and analysis you have captured here rings true. Your speakers were well chosen and effectively edited. I must say to anyone considering watching "Don't Stop;" please give this a solid 40 minutes.
Learn a lot about Shreveport I didn't know I bee back and forth from Shreveport since 99 since I live in Houston now but great to learn our history and praying for a successful future
This is so sad. I grew up in Shreveport. Graduated high school in ‘61. I knew about very little of these things going on in our town. I knew that integration was upon us and thought it sounded like a good idea to me. I was so naive growing up think the segregation was how everyone wanted it. I figured the colored’ wanted to be separate. However I don’t think I ever believed they wanted to give up their seat on the trolley for some white teenager. I never thought that was right and it made me uncomfortable. I moved from Shreveport to PA around 65 or 66. I now live in CA and whenever I go back to Shreveport, and drive through neighborhoods where I used to live and see how run down they are, I feel so very sad. I loved that city, that state.
Damn, you live in California with all the craziness by African Americans going on there, how do you feel about things now? My grandmother moved from Downey, CA before things went very wrong there, and Im so thankful she did! The L.A. riots terrified lots of white people.
