I’m almost 50 and only recently found PWD , now one of my favorites, I can’t believe I almost missed them . But it’s been amazing to intake all their music in a short time. As well as Trivium , In Flames and KSE . All watch Stay Metal Ray and I even play guitar
Finally rig rundown with Jeff Ling, he's a great guitar player, his riffs ( alongside with Luke's) stay in your head for a while every time you hear it. He's a cool dude to chat too, me and my family had a pleasure of meeting him on the streets of Manchester during their UK tour last fall.
Parkway Drive will always hold a special place in my metal heart. Jeff is a living legend in the genre. It's cool to see how his rig has evolved over the years.
Not particularly. Modern technology can get them to that sound with less work/gear and less risk of equipment failure, so why not take advantage of that?
I love that they're a band of best friends and he can go through Luke's entire rig and tell you exactly what he likes about it and he's not even there. Love these guys
Parkway is amazing. I own LTD version of Jeff’s guitar and it’s my favorite to play. I’ve recorded with it and it tracks so well. I’ve been lucky enough to see Parkway play in Europe and the US. Their live shows in Europe are just wow… Fucking big! I really hope when they do their next US tour they can do stadium tours like they do in Europe.
I grew up surfing in the Caribbean in Guadeloupe and I gotta agree. I would give up all the music in the world to keep surfing. When the waves are there, surfing is the best
Sad to watch the whole thing and don't get to see pig, little bit disappointed but this is the first gear video that I ever seen with the guys from pwd. Killer interview
With all this talk about dangerous headstockshapes, IT'S TIME TO BRING BACK THE COCKSTOCK! Safest headstock yet. Luke and Jeff were the reason why I got into metalcore and LTD guitars. I'm happy to own the same models (and backups :P) they had back in the day. MH1000NT BK and H1000 BK - even made a dual playthrough of frostbite with those!
i think it's more so a time-allowance thing than a Kemper/Modeler thing. if they're not slammed before the show, people can still play and demonstrate the sounds/profiles they're using so we can hear it. tons of time and hours go into building all the profiles so the opportunity to talk about it and hear it is def there
Why? Guitars and pedals are what makes a rig really unique, amps are just boxes. The only people who have stories about them are blues guys, cause apparently all their gear is from some esoteric vintage dealer that was passed down from legendary players (who all just play pentatonics anyway)
@@ileutur6863 Because the signal chain, what you are really describing, is almost entirely digital and non tangible now. Which means you cant see it and that makes these videos a little more lame. The combination of guitars, pedals, amps, and cabs and how the signal chain was ran and used defined the sounds you would hear or loved. You cant see that anymore since its a digital chain inside a computer and that makes these videos now loose a little of the magic they once had, imho. For example, Everyone knows Ac/Dc uses Marshalls and Gibsons, but their rig rundown was one of he coolest most interesting ones I have ever seen because we got to see exactly how those things are implemented. I still love rig videos and always will, but they are just not quite what they once were.
That's funny when he talks about surfing being a priority over music.I actually live in Byron Bay but don't surf, but I grew up around here and I have known heaps of surfers in my life, and i made up a joke stereotype about them. "All surfers care about is surfing, weed and playstation. And what's their favourite playstation game? The surfing one of course! " It's just a partially accurate stereotype but it correlates perfectly with what Jeff says at 8.30
Standard tuning from Parkway. Let that sink in, the fall from grace is so big. Don't get me wrong Darker Still is a MASTERPIECE of a song.... For any other band. For this band, nah.
Disagree, I love his enthusiasm and find his rig rundowns the most insightful of all of the hosts. He's incredibly knowledgeable and even gets into the heads they used and modeled prior to running Kempers live.

been a PWD fan for like 16 years now, and I'm so stoked so see them continue to get bigger and bigger. Great video, Premier Guitar!

I've been waiting for a proper parkway rig rundown for years and years. Love how chill Jeff is.

Anyone else miss the 6505/5150, tubescreamer, babe sonic maximizer into a recto cab days?
They sounded better back then.
Not particularly. Modern technology can get them to that sound with less work/gear and less risk of equipment failure, so why not take advantage of that?
I still rock that exact setup. 5150 w/ bias mod / tube screamer / oversized mesa cab / multiple decimators.. can't get any better
That was the set up when I played from 2008-2011. Still have my BBE.
I own a Kemper but prefer playing a proper tube half stack.
It's all about reliability though. Nothing worse than an amp dropping out during a gig.
I play an ESP M1 because of Jeff. Classy and killer.
Finally! Wanted to see this for 10 years 😂🙌🏻
I love that they're a band of best friends and he can go through Luke's entire rig and tell you exactly what he likes about it and he's not even there. Love these guys
I drifted from PG, this run down brings me back. Metal bias right here😂❤ THANK YOU!!!
One of the best guitarist ever , tone and very catchy riffs and leads
i have waited so long for this... thanks guys
Really enjoying Perry's interviews these days. Dude's made some serious progress on the channel
I have a Jeff Ling E-II with the Killswitch Fluences swapped in, it's really cool.
Been waiting for this video for a damn month ever since the tease on y’all’s FB story 😂 so freaking happy to wake up to it this morning 🤘🏻
Great seeing this thanks Perry 😊 🎛🎸🥁🍻✌️
you know it's a good rundown when the interviewer is more excited than the interviewee
International band: EMG 81 and 5150. Gotta love the simplicity
Perry Rules! Cool rundown 🔥
They sound massive live these days. Great episode!

I have an older ltd h1001 fm that is amazing. One of my favorite guitars ive owned by far
Humble as fuck Jeff let's be real these dudes have come a fkn long way. I don't know the interviewer but I'm vibing him too
I love videos about bands RIG, please more!
Finally!
Wish we could see Luke talk about guitar playing and guitars
A 62 gauge isn’t that heavy for drop B, it’s what I use too but bear in mind Dave Grohl uses a 60 for E standard!
Kempers are making these videos less and less intersting.

Nice!!!
I LOVE me some Perry Bean; dude is beautiful 😘
Exactly, cant believe the hate he’s been getting.. Dude rules!
What about the bassist? Missed opportunity there
Yes!!!!!
It's great that they can go on tour, maybe if they didn't drop out of their US tour last minute BDM could also tour with their full band 🤬
Kurt Hammet is my favourite too 😂
Luke’s guitar is so much better looking lol
Ok, Kemper is officially killing the whole Rig Rundown concept.
Oh man. Plexi style different for him honestly

So bored with the rig rundowns where the "amps" consist of brand A, H, or K modeler. What's interesting about that?

They're branching out to more people while still trying to stay Parkway Drive. A band is a business.
