I keep seeing predictions of ribbons.. its already such a huge trend so idk why theyre predicting that
@@parfaitcat could be due to the explosion of coquette/doll fashion on teen media (tiktok for example) but honestly I don't think nor ribbons nor a specific aesthetic could be a "prediction". I think it all comes down to vagueness. People will throw out like "ribbons" or "high heels" but they'll never throughly explain it maybe to a lack of understanding of fashion or because they want to be somewhat right and being too specific could absolutely ruin the chances of being correct.

I predict that dirty/messy girl aesthetic will take over, (a mix of 90's grunge with a new iteration of the 2010s party aesthetic) as a reaction to the clean girl and the quiet luxury aesthetics( also influenced by a possible recession coming?). As for make up, smudged, slightly creased, cool toned eyeshadow and smokey eyes, 2015's dark or greige lips and maybe after that a return to warm toned 2016 looks . Also, I think chrome, gun metal shades and charcoal greys (generally darker and muted colours) will be very prevalent. Another guess is undefined waists, still close to the body but more straight, "unflattering" things that aren't baggy per se and fringe or fringe-esque endings to dresses that aren't wild west style.

Please i need bold makeup to come back im so tired of not seeing a lick of visible eyeshadow or eyeliner on red carpets they all look so boring in the clean makeup it actually takes away from the clothes
I feel like it's already trendy rn but in the form of downtown girl or the grunge. But maybe this year, it will come fully into msinstream

- Copper oxide green, its a specific shade, greener version of turquoise
- Late 2000s baggy flared jeans
- The brand O'neil and Quicksilver will get bigger with a mid 2000s surf aesthetic (not coconut girl but more laguna beach)
- Deer fur print
- Already happening, but an emphasis on mod 60s more, futurism, space age etc..
Oh I hate tht turquoise colour tbh, but I think it might be coming(at least as a feature of the metallic trend)

I definitely think the gothic medieval aesthetic is coming. I was already very drawn to it at the beginning of last year (and always tbh) but I’ve started embracing it more and more again. I think it pairs well with the metallic trends too with kind of armor esque pieces, and chainmail looking mesh/knits. I also think it will tie into the more textural and shapeless trends too with possibly some tunic styles coming back and loose boxy tops over tights etc. Big/long belts too like early vetements. I also may be crazy but I think it may even crossover with glam punk/early goth styles of the late 70s and early 80s as well as the grunge from the 90’s and like paco rabane mod stuff from the 60’s. Along with the embrace of eastern european model style of the late 2000’s/early 2010’s. I think there’s gonna be a whole hodgepodge of influences coming in from everywhere. I think too that with the embrace of 80’s glam, it’s pop aesthetics might come back too but different from how they were so clean and beachy in the mid 2010’s. More rough around the edges but still with an element of playfulness and bold color. Leotards and one piece bathing suits will be huge but less ballet centric. Bold geometric costume jewelry too. At its most playful it’ll be like retro futuristic popstar aesthetics.
I also think we’re going to see more code mixing in men’s and women’s wear where it’s androgynous but not in an obvious everyone wears t shirts kind of way but in a more club kid kind of fashion. Femininity will still be hugely emphasized too though alongside this.
I think we’re going to see a comeback of high top sneakers too but a little bit more futuristic. Heels will also be high as you’ve said.
There was A LOT of diesel last year, especially in K-pop.

I'm still seeing some of the kpop idols wearing Diesel, but you're right it started in 2022 and I was excited to see it come back but I guess it is waning now.

so what im getting is warrior fairy girl aesthetic with a quirky twist. or messy party girl on a monday at the office. pastels and metallics mixed with shapes or animal prints/textures to keep things interesting. i can see accessories (especially bags) being big. i also think there will be some experimentation with straps, chains, and/or ribbon, but im not sure.
oh, i need thar 97 betsey johnson prediction to happen so bad!! ive been yearning for a betsey come back for ages, she's been one of my favorite designers since middle school. her or anna sui need to make a come back.

I think the messy fit on the go will take over, like smudged eyeliner, glitter eyeshadow, red berry blush, big bags like Mary Kate and Ashley. Baggy skinny not skinny jeans, big coats and leather jackets. Messy silver eyeshadow and a lot of cheetah print.

with regards to the diesel logo, there was that belt skirt that everyone was styling for a bit (technically came from fw’22 but I remember it kind of picked up speed in 2023??)

I agree completely about the color thing. We go through colors really quickly, I feel like they don't become a "trend" so much as the color becomes associated with a specific iconic piece. Like that pink ribbed Diesel logo top all the kpop girlies were wearing, I think about that. But that shade of pink wasn't a "trend." As for my own predictions, its more like a hope, I really want Peter Do to take off. He's really hitting a stride and as a Vietnamese person myself I just want to see him succeed and I most all the stuff he puts out. Helmut Lang was smart to take him.

Yes, I've seen a lot of Diesel but it shifted from insta/tiktok baddies and lifestyle girlies in runway pieces to your regular Emma wearing a D logo bag or top with her casual wardrobe basics and guys in entry level products like logo tees and shorts
I keep seeing ppl doing Nana / Hachi fashion lately, not sure if it just 2023 or will carry into 2024

ok but trends i think ur so right with medieval royaltycore because its 2010s revival. ive been dying over square necklines, and i think empire waist is gonna come back in too. high waist, that one chanel collection with the high waist shorts etc... like dying for the blumarine fall winter/ 2007 collection. i also think peasant core is coming in too like hair wraps long textured skirts. im hoping for more gold embroidery details on dark fabrics etc

I can see wooden motif and natural fibers coming into style (natural materials continued, moving beyond fur) more natural earth tones, browns embraced. Wooden wedge heels. Bamboo handles. (Maybe wishful thinking)

i watched your fashion trend predictions for 2023 video like about a month ago to see how many things were actually trending and it’s so satisfying how you were able to correctly predict those trends,oh in terms of the diesel prediction i definitely saw a lot of diesel in 2023 especially those diesel inspired tops (idk what to call them i’m so sorry😭) especially in kpop also joy wearing the pink diesel dress for their birthday album photoshoot and i think either karina or ningning wore the exact pink dress for a photoshoot, fast fashion brands were also producing a lot of those also also the diesel skirt was quite big too if i remember correctly
well anyways i can’t wait to see whatll be trending this year :3 my “prediction” is that we’ll see a lot more of that ribbon coquette style in kpop esp w shushu tong being rlly popular rn

I think as maybe more of a transition of the thights as pants trend to the mainstream audience will be the comeback of shorts with thights (esp lacy ones). This would also fit Lisa's prediction on zoey deschanel "twee" look coming back.

i absolutely agree with you on the betsy johnson medieval punk esque fashion resurgence but i feel like it would come way sooner. i would also take a leap and say in a way its already here or maybe its just the creators i watch but i see a lot of similarities between that and the indie sleeze looks that a lot of pinterest girlies have been going for. especially the belts the colour palettes and the tights with it

I genuinely think all of these are great.
Definitely agree on the high heels, shoes are already getting higher with platform UGGS and kitten heels coming into fashion, although I hope whatever version of the high heel comes around next will draw from the past decade of so of comfy shoe trends and be a bit kinder on our feet! Building off of that, something I haven't seen (don't come for me if it's actually already trending and I just missed it) is a combination of corpcore/office siren + Y2K + accessorization for the sake of accessorization that we have already seen resulting in a re-evaluation and re-invigoration of things like waistcoats, skinny scarves, maybe even **gasp** fedoras (given the recent hat trend). I'm not sure how they'll be spiced up for the mid 2020's but I do see them coming back around in some new and interesting way.
Also I bet there will be a Betty boop sort of aesthetic in clothes, polka dot will be THE trend (a polka dot lover)

I have a bunch of red and powder blue fabrics and i planned on paking a 1916 outfit with them because when acquiring them I felt like doing that era and realized that color combo was really striking and seems to have been everywhere, i ended up not having done the outfit, guess i missed the boat on that one
I am wearing light blue and red on my face every day, and I will forever ahaha it was my thing before the trend and I won’t change it just bc it was overused, so you should go for it if you wanted to use those colours anyway!

my predictions are Hikaru Utada inspired outfits like in the song Traveling. Its kinda retro futuristic with gogo boots and tights and shift dresses. Idk maybes I just really want white gogo boots 💫🌙
I also agree the metal trend continuing. I see it more worn-out, oxidized silver and maybe bronze coming. Also, I think it will be combined with an indie sleaze aesthetic, like gossip girl Jenny Humprey. Slouchy beanies, rick owens asymmetrical cropped jackets, big hobo handbags.
Diesel had a big year in the kpop space I saw it on a lot of kpop idols but I think it wasn’t that big outside of them

Also, yeah lol I’ve also seen a lot of prediction videos in my recommended and stuff, one girl said “a makeup brand and a celebrity will release a perfume, and also peach makeup.” Makeup brands sell perfumes and celebrities come out with perfumes all the time. Also, natural peachy makeup has been a huge thing since 2018 at least. Prediction where? Anyways, weird how we can look back in time and go “thats so 2008 coded” or like “totally late 60’s” but then realizing these up and coming years will have their own iconic looks, and the passing ones will be seen only as one or two main looks in the future. Idk like there are so many trends going on in one year, but we usually only think of a few staple pieces. Yknow? Like 2019 was headbands and 2017 was scrunchies? Idk like that sorta thing. What will be the thing of the coming year ultimately? What would you say the look was of 2023, and how will that view change in coming years? Yknow? Weird stuff.

Yea, a lot of (usually younger) people here glamourize party-girl/rockstar lifestyles that involve things like getting blackout drunk, getting into dangerous situations, drugs, being disheveled etc. I can't say it's purely a western thing, but it definitely is a thing here. I never understood it either lol
