    I'm very impressed to see your behaviour and mannerisms when working with young stock like these - quiet, smooth, gentle and yet steadily persuasive and firm with them so that they do what you need from them. Total congratulations young man.
    There are many so called stockmen and women of all ages and experiences that could really benefit from watching and learning from you.
    Incidentally I'm not sure if it would help with your fly problem but in the past we have dipped the teat orifice into some gently warmed Stockholm Tar to mechanically close up the teat. We have also used the same method for dressing minor open wounds with the tar to reduce flies pestering the cattle. Regards Dan

      Thank you no point getting mad with the calves they don't know what's going on so just need to take it slow with them wish I could say I was always calm on the farm 😂 thanks again

    Hi Gavin, just curous to know do you have any issue with summer scour or cocci? do you offer any fibre to them? 2kg of ration a day?. i'm at same craic as well with same sort of animals but having lots of issues this summer

    • @Canningfarms
      @Canningfarms  Рік тому

      They just arrived so at the min no issues only one or 2 getting cold with the weather and the traveling.. yea I keep them on longer not as luch grass and bring out a bit of silage/hay for them to nibble on.. yea ones on target getting 2kg ones that are well behind will be built up to 3 kg its just been a shit summer

      @@Canningfarms Feck it. Sorry for jinxing it for you. i lost 3 and put another 7 back on milk for 3 weeks to get them back around. i find the cocci and summer scour are very close symptons. This year with wet grass i think the cocci is everywhere. i've hay and straw against ditches just to get a bit of fibre into them as well as 2kg of ration

    Hi, I thought Noromectin Pour-On was not permitted for cattle producing milk for human consumption??

    • @Canningfarms
      @Canningfarms  Рік тому +3

      Can use it on heifers up to 60 days before calving can't use on cows that are actively giving milk these calves are fine
