Given your age, how you found this song is impressive, your skill at personalizing this piece shows real skill. I'm 68 and remember when this song came out. Thanks.
Such a stunning heartfelt rendition! Lovely is too simple a word to sum up the grace and love you bring to us as you play this. If anyone knows Ian they should let him know. Thank you for bringing this to us.
Does anybody else hear a hint of Janis Joplin in Maple’s voice and singing style? I loved this song for years and am happy a new generation appreciates it also
Very cool...really heartfelt. Love the outdoors setting, bird's accompaniment & scat vocal, too! Especially refreshing to hear a young lady into music I was digging during '70's high school. ♡ Tull was my 2nd live rock concert. 🇨🇦
One of my very special favorite songs, but what a beautiful cover! You go honey! You are a very talented vocalist and musician. Great work!✌💜& understanding!
Upon first hearing your voice, I was thinking, no not not for me...oh wait...actually it's quite good. Love the timbre of your voice and your delivery . Beautiful rendition of a classic song. You make it sound new again.
very nice to see a young person playing a song from an excellent artist(JT) that was recorded 50+ years ago. This is a very relative song, especially now!!
Look, I clicked on the suggestions proposed by the algotube... Because I've been a fan of JT for 30+ years, I thought "why not?" I didn't know you, but your interpretation of this song is just great.
Ah, that was a great cover of a great song. And the bird in the background. Honestly, how did you train it? It almost did both the Martin's guitar and Ian's flute parts! Congratulations, I loved it.
I grew up on Tull, and you do a mighty fine rendition from the heart. LYRICS: Whenever I get to feel this way Try to find new words to say I think about the bad old days We used to know Nights of winter turn me cold Fears of dying, getting old We ran the race, the race was won By running slowly Could be soon we'll cease to sound Slowly upstairs, faster down Then to revisit stony grounds We used to know Remembering mornings, shillings spent Made no sense to leave the bed The bad old days they came and went Giving way to fruitful years Saving up the birds in hand While in the bush the others land Take what we can before the man Says it's time to go Each to his own way I'll go mine Best of luck with what you find But for your own sake remember times We used to know
My ol' best friend is going through the hardest time anyone could and is revisiting tunes that our bunch loved. Tunes like this are helping. Loved this. It helps so much seeing young folks appreciating this music this much too :) and it's awesome you're into ecology as well........seek beauty........Oh, and if I could, I'd loved to thank those birds!
You did a really good job on this song. We used to know is one of my favorite tunes by my favorite band. Ian Anderson is my favorite lyricist. Such a poet. I really like what you did with your voice on this one

Indeed
I hear more Sandy Denny or Grace Slick.
She adds some of her own soul to it.
I think it's the slightly breathy high notes.

I grew up on Tull, and you do a mighty fine rendition from the heart. LYRICS:
Whenever I get to feel this way
Try to find new words to say
I think about the bad old days
We used to know
Nights of winter turn me cold
Fears of dying, getting old
We ran the race, the race was won
By running slowly
Could be soon we'll cease to sound
Slowly upstairs, faster down
Then to revisit stony grounds
We used to know
Remembering mornings, shillings spent
Made no sense to leave the bed
The bad old days they came and went
Giving way to fruitful years
Saving up the birds in hand
While in the bush the others land
Take what we can before the man
Says it's time to go
Each to his own way I'll go mine
Best of luck with what you find
But for your own sake remember times
We used to know
Simply beautiful. You are in touch with great music. Excellent. Thank you.
