That was a beautiful sunset. And it was great to see Jackie and Shadow enjoying some time in the nest. The closer we get to the egg-laying season, the more we love to see them tending to the nest and to see Jackie pancaking.
I’ve been watching these eagles for months - even when there were eggs in the nest that didn’t hatch. Still baffled as to why they constantly arrange, rearrange, and bring new sticks to their nest. Why do they do that?
Thanks Cali, I'm praying for for my favorite eagle couple to havve succesful inception, laying, hatching and raising baby/ies to fledging 🙏🏽 ❤❤❤ Do you know, is there a point at which a longterm partnership without successful progeny would end?😮
Incubation lasts about 45 days so you don't want them hatching in early February when it will be so cold for a month or more. Late January or early February would be better, but to me that still seems too early. This is rather challenging for southern bald eagles since they come from climates more like Florida and the southeast US. Northern bald eagles are well adapted for Canada and Alaska; so not true for southern bald eagles which this pair is.

So calming.....love the beauties. Hope their nest is strong and warm enough for winter.
Eagles are so beautiful, may God keep them safe.
Happy to see Shadow. Was worried the other day when Jackie spent time looking for him. Thank you for these videos❤.
I'm hoping the weather stays good this year for them!
Sharp images and amazing sound. Eagle flight looks effortless, I never would have considered their breath sounds before. Thank you.
Same! They pant like a dog sometimes.
Love Jackie rearranging that pile of fluff she brought yesterday. They need to make the nest a bit cozier for the kiddies ! 😅❤
I love the video showed J and S in the Roost Tree at the end!
Thank you Cali❤
Stunning images! 😍
Love is in the air, very soon …… ❤️🦅🍀
Great video coverage! Thanks so much, Cali Condor and Happy New Year to everyone💕🙂
Bald eagles are the most beautiful and majestic of all the birds. May God protect His blessed creation.
Our son teaches high school sciences here in KY and keeps a monitor on 24/7 for students to follow Jackie and Shadow. ❤❤
They were at the nest a lot today. Cool.
More fluffy stuff needed. 🤗🥰👀
Yes, lots more. I think lack of it is why the eggs were too cold during the blizzard last time, causing them to fail to hatch.
Wow! Jackie is starting to nest.
Nest is looking nice so far.
Tim and I love Jackie and Shadows beaky kisses!
Every year they’re last minute when it comes to fluff

Great post!😊❤
They're definitely feeling the evolutionary urge to adapt to the season. Hope it happens! I was nice to see them still in the RT this morning.
Happy New Year!

Does the center of the nest break down into compost- like soil?
More fluff please. 😊
That looked like Shadow pancaking…
Is it her time to lay eggs?
It could be any day now! ❤🙏🏼❤
