I'm watching Chet's reaction to each break before his and I'm seeing, on his face... "what the hell am *I* supposed to do to follow *THAT*?!"... (lol)
I think of Chet as mostly a solo player... but he fit right "in"... and his break had it's own flavor. I was proud of him!
Thank you for posting this!
Some of the greatest string instrument performers ever
Deep in my French countryside, I am so sad to learn of the death of Tony, so elegant in his playing and his attitude. RIP
Thanks for sharing your thoughts from across the water. Blessings on you, friend.
Holy cow, I’m surprised the stage didn’t collapse under the weight of those musical giants!
Agreed
The greatest musicians in their field all in one band. Jeez. Damn, Chet was so smooth at raking.
Back when you could see things like this on TV. Growing up in Nashville I feel fortunate to have seen so many of these people perform, and am so proud this legacy.
And Chet says ; Boy do I make these youngins sound good :)
The Seven Virtuosos. Enormous greatness.
Such a joy to watch this! OMG they’re all so talented. Just saw Jerry Douglas last year with Derek Trucks at Red Rocks. Amazing ❤
What an absolute legendary lineup!
Is it legal to have this much talent on stage? What a fantastic gathering of great musicians.
Tony was classy and held his talent and music highly Rest In Peace Tony God is with you sir
RIP Tony, You'll be around for a long time for a lot of us, but you'll be missed!
Even Chet Atkins is like "Dang, Tony Rice is a beast".
Seven great musicians, performing together. What a treat!
a note at this point Chet had been dealing with pretty severe arthritis for quite awhile and still remained relevant to his art, much respect sir, much respect.
What a bunch of groundbreakingly great musical minds. Thanks for all the joy and wisdom you have spread throughout the decades.
Thanks for the music, Tony!
Marvellous playing all round here. But medal goes to the Violin !. Moves through all the changes, and super at home with Jazz, as well as Country and all points west ! Brilliant !.
What an awesome video, thanks Mark!! Incredible talent all on one stage! Pretty clear that there's incredible mutual respect between Tony and Chet. Wonder why Tony never got a CGP honour from Chet, Tony is clearly up there with the best, maybe even beyond? Maybe Tony was so good, it would've felt weird for Chet to do it
Great lineup! Consummate performers!
And they fade out on the bass solo. That guy was playing tasty throughout.
its kind of disrespectful
@@grendo45 Rob Wasserman
It's always the bassist who gets shafted. Damn.
the guy played his solo the whole way through the damn song. talk about disrespectful
The last farewell Yes, but the bassman always gets the chicks!
Chet's solo is so catchy and elegant. And of course, Mark is a technical marvel as usual. I love it
Beyond All-Stars.....
Jerry’s lick at 3:30 made me grunt out loud.
So much talent on that stage its scary.
What a line up!!!
astonishing Tony Rice gives his best every time - graceful and humble and from his bones
Every player is so professional...
And the bassist is just amazing
That bass is just devine.
Without it, all the barnyard animals would all get out!
Look at Chet watching Tony haha. Great stuff.
so much talent on one stage...
I didn't know a collaboration of Chet Atkins and Tony Rice existed! My two favorite guitarists
Gotta find room somewhere for Roy Clark and Glen Campbell. --not bluegrass, but still good.
MONSTERS
@@pbj4toastAnd Jerry Reed.
cherish this...u won't see these guys together again...priceless
That's a crazy amount of talent on one stage!
amen!
Agreed! Damn!
awesome stuff. what a cast !
Bela s jacket takes the cake on fine apparel
This will never be replicated or have anyone come close to orbiting this planet.
What an unbelievable lineup!
what a lineup!
What I like especially is all the while these fantastic country/bluegrass musicians are playing, if you listen close a fantastic jazz bassist is playing in the background!!
And they cut him off at the end there. wtf???
Tom Anderson I'm a winner either I'm a winner either way
Yhea the bassist is sooo good!
Joe Palumbo q
Holy Cow this is such an amazing performance. Thank you for sharing.
How have I never heard or seen this before?!? Amazing!

OK THAT was just mind-blowing!
The best of the Best.
Yes!!
My favorite music channel on UA-cam. Thanks Mark.
Thanks, like this stupendous performance.
Love this😊
Gosh, I would love to see a bassist perform this!
So sad to hear about Tony Rice hardly heard of in the UK and Ireland only came across him though you tube a few years ago and hoped to here him live and was sad to find out that he had retired now to here has passed away I along with all his devoted fans and family join in their loss of another musical great gone
Look how young Bela Fleck is! Wow. He played with some giants.
Mark O'Connor is younger yet 8/5/1961 where Bela Fleck was born 7/10/1958.
Chet did a couple sweep arpeggios at 2:35. Masterful.
NOTICE HOW CHET SAID SO MUCH WITH A LITTLE....
YIKES! Boy you could strand me on a deserted island with this one.
I bet Tony was a huge fan of Chet given him being a huge jerry reed fan and I've no doubt Chet respected him equally.
RIP Rob
Wow.
And that, folks, is how it's done.
Hell yeah! Damn!
RIP Rob Wasserman!
Марк! Блестящее соло!!!
The Mount Rushmore of my personal musical appreciation.
Chet's shaking his head in wonderment at 2:00 says it all.
Wow!
Thanks for uploading this one! Just wish the bass solo hadn't been cut off ;-( Otherwise...what a line-up!
you can see chet lovin these masters
Back when only talented people were on TV
There is much truth to what you say
dream team
Tempos áureos!
I love Mark's pants and Bela's jacket. Fly
Limehouse Blues - 1922 song written by Douglas Furber (lyrics) and Philip Braham (music)
Damn….That’s a hell of a band on that stage
Make O Connor is simply one of the greatest soloists to ever live on any instrument. The changes are always COMPLETELY nailed and then he can take it way out and back in again with no effort at all. I always wanted to here him and buddy Emmons trade fours.
A humble request to you mark ,please share some of your stories of great Tony rice. Well all be deeply thankful
to you. I know you too must be having a hard time with passing away of your dear friend.
David Grisman Tony Rice and Mark O'Conner are the epitome of professional.
Jerry Douglas
There’s no weak link in that monster chain.
But they all felt lucky to play with the legendary Chet Atkins.
Bluegrass is country swing...mountain jazz!
One of my favourite recordings ever made
Chet- ‘damn, y’all is sloppy pickers’😂
Wow even a bass solo
guauuuu!!!!!!!!!
wow
♥️
Ok..there you have it....the best ever line-up..you can get.....I wish there was a line up that talented in pop music...oh yea there aren’t any..lol
For some reason this makes me feel like I'm playing Super Mario World.
O'Connor nailed it...
Bass player over-played, stepped on everybody's solos.
Wheee !
Is nobody going to say anything about jerry playing with only 5 strings?
Send that into space on the next Voyager!
Hear some Alabama Jubilee in that tune.
Death has taken them away but you tube keeps them alive
Yowza talk about slate writing of the gods!
Chet Atkins AND Bela Fleck?! And Tony Rice?!
What the - they're not finished!
CHET TRYING TO KEEP UP, HOW AWESOME
DREAM ON....CHET IS THE ULTIMATE
why not complete?
Is this the only time Chet Atkins , Tony Rice and David Grisman played together?
most never see that
