When Santana played Woodstock their first album had yet to be released to the public.Bill Graham managed to get them a slot at Woodstock.They took the stage and the rest,as they say,is history.That first lp was a totally unique sound compared to what other musicians were putting out in 1969.

Well, the two songs from “Supernatural” made me want to make this playlist of Santana‘s music, in which, I call “ The Supernatural Mix”, and I burned the 14 songs on CD. Yes, this 1999 album is now 25 years old. Skip to track number five, now that really was a hot one. A song that was nominated for both record and song of the year, along with another nomination.

Carlos Santana, my mentor. In San Francisco in the 60's I would see them at Dolores park, outside of Army Street or the golden gate park. From Woodstock to arena's around the country, his music has always influenced my music and his spirituality has influenced millions of people. I will never say I played like him but he inspired me so that MY music was as good as god intended . . . and that is the biggest love I can give to my friend, Carlos Santana. Peace and love - always and in ALL ways . . . and thank you

Gabor Szabo was one of the important influences for his style. They lived together for a while. Unfortunately Gabor Szabo died way too early.
