I play 3, 5-9 Cobra single length and have 4 Edison wedges. Couldn’t be happier.

Yeah this sounds like what I’m aiming for, single length only makes sense for the long irons/hybrids. Like I don’t need my pw to be 7i length, that’s not a problem lol

I totally agree on the dual length, I use 38 inch 3,4,5,6,7 and my 8,9,pw,gw,sw are at 36 inches. I'm 6'2 so I add a 1/2 to all clubs. My problem was the 3,4,5,6 went same distance. I also have a 3 wood that I tungsten weighted to bring head weight to 272 grams and use a wood iron shaft at 38 inches and I hit that 3 wood as far as I would a normal 3 wood, around 240 yards and the iron shaft makes it feel just like my cobra 3 hybrid. You are the one that convinced me to play single length and I truly appreciate it because my game improved immensely because of it. I Bought the pinemeadow set then switched to full cobra set. Appreciate what you do!!!!

we have cobra f7 one length iron (now as a backup to older nike blades). 5 to PW. the first thing we did was to check the distances and made a video (so we remember and share the result with other golfers on ytube). and the distances pretty much the same as the variable length iron (except for the 5 iron, a bit 5 yards shorter). and then, we hit the a pitch shot with the Pitching wedge. When we held the Wedge, of course, it felt weird holding a wedge with a 7 iron length. but then, magic happened, it flew exactly like a normal length Pitching wedge, and the distance was also the same, about 70 yards. the engineers at cobra has thought about this and they made it work. we thought cobra one length is still the most "innovative" iron due to the single length idea.

I game the Wishon EQ1-NX single length irons. 5-LW. You can build them how you like. One, two or Three length. Mine are all 37" (7 iron length). I don't carry long iron shorter than standard irons. I have no problem at all that the wedges are longer. My club speed is 90 mph.

Awesome ... I've tried the EQ1-NX and they are soooooo pretty and good. But game the Pinhawk SL. Did a comparion shootout on my channel of the two. I'm little above average tall and love the wedges being longer. All is 2.54 cm (1 inch) longer. From 2 driving iron, 3 utility iron and then from 4 to lob wedge single length all the way and will not likely look back. Everyone needs to find what works for them. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

Im a beginner and bought Mazel’s single length set off Amazon which I like but for the wedges I’d like something shorter. I do use Cobra One-Length Hybrids and love them

My Fairway woods, hybrids, 3 utility driving iron, are all same length. And I lengthened the 5 iron. The 6 through wedges are all the same length.
3 groups of same lengths if you exclude the driver snd putter.
    That works for me.

I still play a full set of single length irons because I like the flexibility of being able to take full swings with my wedges. I would say I agree almost with you. For most people if they went one length in 3 iron through pitching and gap wedges and kept the sand and lob wedges long they would get a lot more benefit.

Interesting, as a tall person I had the opposite. 4, 5, 6 irons and my hybrids were fine but I always struggled with 7-GW. I have Cobra Aerojet 3-7 (+.5) irons, and Forged Tec ONE Length 7-GW. Maybe it’s not legal but I need both 7’s. The Aerojet 7 goes 185-195 and the Forged Tec 7 goes 170-180. So the second 7 fixes the gapping problem between the two. All three of my Taylormade Wedges are the same length of 33.5”. So far this has been the most comfortable I’ve ever felt with each club. Basically, the problem with shorter irons for me was getting jammed up on the inside and feeling hunched over the ball with no room.

That being said, I’m now mostly a full set of Cobras. Darkspeed Driver, fairway, hybrid, king tech 3 utility, one length cobra Aerojets, snakebite X wedges.
The best clubs you can get at the best value.
My last to go was my Lazrus 3 iron

I have played one length for a couple of years now. I haven't played much, but I have played. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to what I use, and I can play on my handicap with variable length set as well. While I have experienced what you and many talk about of the length of the wedges (or 8 and down), in my case, I'm not comfortable with wedges if they are short either, so I can't really blame the longer shafts if I hit poor shots. I do however agree with Bryson that they offer more options. Nothing is stopping me from gripping down if I want to, and there are situations when the extra length comes in handy, and offers options that a shorter wedge can't. I know it's not often those situations appear, but I think it's a fair point and will stick to the 7 iron length for now.
But more important than clubs being one length or dual length or whatever, is that the length is customized for the player's setup and swing. I'm below average height and should probably have a slightly shorter 7 iron as a baseline for my set to work best for me. I will look into that this summer (Yeey, only 4-5 months left in Sweden... 😢). If anything Mr. Shambles have made me more interested in what I put in my bag. The importance of figuring out what I need, and that is not likely the stock option in any store.

What? But, but I bought my Cobra OL irons because of you! Lol. Fwiw, I think the setup will have its pros and cons but I’ve found the opposite from what you are talking about. I love the fact that the seven iron length on the short irons and wedges means my bad back doesn’t have to bend down so much for full swings and I get incredible height on these compared to my variable set. Also, once you get used to short game shots having greater speed on bunker shots and pitches from rough is an edge. The weakness and
is gapping and ball flight (lower) on the mid and longer irons but not enough to out weigh the advantages for me.

I play Cobra One Length and use the one length for 5-7 irons and use my PXG gen 5 0311 P irons for 8-GW. My woods, hybrid, driver, putter are all just standard. I like it this way because I didn't use my 5 and 6 irons that often in the past and used more hybrids but after this change last year, I used my 5 iron a lot more more often. It's great!

This is exactly what I’m thinking! I have a standard set of 4-PW and my wedges. Thinking of replacing 5-7i with single length irons, and then picking up some single length hybrids, probably 3h and 5h if needed. I would keep my 8i-wedges the same variable length. Hoping that helps my game, cause right now anything over 7i length is a miss hit 7/10 times in one fashion it another. Makes playing golf kinda annoying and I don’t have enough time to grind long irons

Had started playing golf with the 1-iron one-length irons. Then tried multi-length irons and did better with them in 9-G irons and just used 7 and 5 woods for 4 and 3/2 irons.

Cool that you have found that a blend for you works out best. I'm still a big advocate for single length across the all the clubs ... that might not be the case for everyone. I'm little bit longer then average and all my irons are 2.54 cm longer ... thus 5 iron length including the lob wedge. My full shots of all my wedges are the best part of my game. Also pitch shots are fine ... chipping is getting better so ... for me SL is a stayer. Coolio. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

I've been through this before, and I legit just went back to one length irons (2017 cobra forged) but this time around I'm keep my 50, 54, 58 at standard wedge lengths as I prefer the control in my scoring clubs and around the green (110mph clubhead with driver so my 50 degree caps out around 120 yards).
I was struggling with consistency with my approach shots and the single length is allowing me to maximize my practice time and have the same approach shot swing thought throughout. I just got back from my first session at the bay and my gapping is right where it needs to be so hopefully I don't come to this conclusion again. I was worried about the 4 iron not having enough clubhead speed but I'm hitting further than my 4 iron from my existing set... Ironically I'm coming from a set of Ping i230's!

Big strength on the one length is you hit your 6 iron or whatever to 50 yards out, then it’s the exact same swing with a 60 degree wedge rather than picking up a wedge that is 2.5 inches shorter and the ball has to be in a position in your stance. Better consistency for average players in my opinion.

I carry a 19 degree Cobra single length hybrid. I love it on tight driving holes or for a second shot on a par 5. But I have no interest in the single length irons. ⛳️

I have a set of Pinhawk SL irons from a 4 Hybrid to 5I-LW (10 clubs total) They are 37.5 inch in length and have 125 stiff steel shafts with midsize tour velvet type grips. They are new never hit just decided to build them vs sending everything back to value golf. A set from value golf built similar would run well over $700 … I’m asking $400 just comment to set up shipping and payment

The great thing about golf is you do what works for you 🏌🏽‍♂️👍🏽
My iron setup is 3 4 and 5 irons are regular variable length, and my 6 iron to sand wedge are 6 iron length.
