I like to think Discord is asexual and/or aromantic. The tea accusation is something that's happened to me and nobody ever believes I just like tea.
The attraction scene doesn't really seem like proof to me, I just see it as Discord trying to impress the guys. But maybe that's just what I want to see.

Well he's like one of the funniest characters of MLP, especially he's one of my favourites.

He is adorable period and so is his voice actor
I of course adored this episode. It has Big Mac, it has Discord, it has...admittedly the biggest, most-used rom-com cliché of two people failing to communicate and hijinks ensuing because of the lack of communication. Anyway. Discord was in top form this episode and it was great.
Also Sugar Belle's cute laugh-snort was SO adorable!!
...And Sweetie Belle was the voice of reason in this episode. Yay!

I suppose Spike's line can have two different meanings for different people. Some can see it a ship, while some can see it as Discord loves Fluttershy as a good friend. I myself think it's the second option.

Considering the fact the cmc was responsible for releasing Discord from his first statue imprisonment, I fully believe that the cmc will play a direct role in Discords redemption.

As for the Fluttercord ship, you said so yourself. Love is something that's foreign to him, so maybe he still has yet to realize any dormant feelings he may have for Fluttershush.
He doesn’t feel anything for her. There’s not even a little canon proof of that. Spike only offered that concept because he hangs out with her a lot.

My headcanon is that Discord is Aromantic and ends up with Fluttershy as a queerplatonic partner. It's never explained what they are in the end, but he definitely cares about her while having these views about romance not "existing". Maybe they just never existed to HIM. Maybe he doesn't feel that attraction. But them being in a QPR seems plausable since it's sorta like the inbetween. (Google it if you don't know what it is).

I don't even ship fluttercord too much, much bigger fan of other ships involving Discord and Fluttershy, I'm just tired of seeing your stupid reasoning for making others dislike the ship. I always dislikes when people played the "respect my opinion" card instead of coming up with an actual argument, but your arguments against the ship as I've seen so far are weak and easily argued against.
You can explain to me the other dislestia evidence if you wish, I'll admit that I'm kinda dumb and if there was any other evidence to it I was probably oblivious to it. I'm not against disleastia I just could never fully understand the ship.
I'm with you that it's annoying that people claim their ship to be cannon when it isn't, but dislestia shippers do the exact same thing. In fact it happens with nearly every ship. Though it's best not to bring this up in our points as it is hardly an important argument against either ship.

Love is totally a thing, anyways. In the same way that humans can appreciate art, they can invest appreciation of people, and what's the really interesting thing we see in neuroscience is that you can actually die of heartbreak.
When a couple have been together for decades, or if a person is particularly histrionic (Discord), or has dependency and anxiety issues (Discord) ... we actually see the human brain undergoing bereavement in similar ways as a brain that is undergoing localized nerve damage pain in the brain itself.
It spikes blood pressure, heightens disorientation and confusion (which creates accident prone behaviour and impaired self-maintenance), and the sudden onset of loneliness can cause all sorts of physiological problems.
In many ways behavioural and neuropsychology-speaking, it mimics pain.
So what we know from science, love can allow a person to endure years longer than they normally would, and love loss can actually kill you. Your heartbreak can cause your *heart to break* ... and really profound instances of bereavement put such a physiological toll on your body it takes years off your life expectancy.
And we know it's different from lust, because getting over lust does not create these sorts of problems.
Love is as real as human pain. Pain is incredibly hard to define, it has many different types, it has many different mechanisms that are both observable in an empirical sense in the laboratory, but also is nuanced in ways we can't see or explain ... but are empirical (common enough in exposure) that it's hard to believe billions of humans over time have just been lying about their feelings.
Love is like art, or the capacity to appreciate art. It's hard to define, there is scientific evidence there to be said it's real but in ways that we can't actually prove beyond its own existence, and arguably it's intrinsic o the idea of sapience being separate from mere sentience.
I still remember the behavioural science speech one lecturer told me as a student when first studying psychology.
"Psychology and its many fields of study is concerned with *one thing* ... how humans are special, and how humans can be the universe recognizing itself for possibly the first time in all existence through the majesty of thought. We are starlight and dust given voice and agency to intuit that mystery, and you my lovely young people will endeavour like I do into my twilight years to answer a question of why it is so--right into your grave. The mysteries you seek to uncover will lead to more questions, all the more haunting than other sciences given that they in no way, shape, or form be excised from who we are and why we do the things we do. Psychology is the science of thought itself."
This is the point where I would point out that Discord is being intentionally apprehensive about his relationship to affection. He gets lust, but in the same way you don't ship Fluttershy and Discord (I don't either) ... there's a reason why we invest ourselves in other people in a way that transcends lust.
Discord's relationship to Fluttershy is a type of love, and it's Spike that's actually in the wrong. Because he confuses that with adolescent lust ... not genuine affection born of the capacity to love another for who they are, and what they mean to you.
In essence, Discord believes in love but intuiting how he really feels about other people is frightening in a way that it questions how his thousands of years of existence he was wrong concerning his relationship to other sapient creatures. He merely sought their subugated approval ... and now in just a few years he's having to balance all these new feelings about just what it means to see people in a new way, and with new reasons why such thoughts were wrong all these millenia.
Discord plays the skeptic, despite his existence being inimical to skepticism. That's the irony of it. His relationship to Fluttershy is proof enough of that ... *why* does he rein in his worst impulses for the sake of one pony?
And that's a frightening question to him. He could have easily loved tea and not given a shit about Fluttershy's feelings ... so his answer is wrong by that measure alone. It's his appreciation of things via his connection to other people that ultimately define what love is.
Discord doesn't love tea *as much* as he loves tea and company.
And whether such things are platonic or not are trivial, merely expressions of how love can be vague.
So Discord and Rick are wrong ... scientifically speaking, no one can explain love. Trust me, we've tried. It's too broad a subject material.
We've done brain scans, behavioural science experiments, taken blood samples, even examined the brain matter of people who have been in lifelong relationships and compared them to hermits.
We've done everything barring throwing the kitchen sink at it. The psychologist, neuropsychologist, neuroscientist or biological computing scientist that discovers what love is will be the greatest mind humans have ever created.

First you say Discord does not nessecarily mean what he says about romance and then say it still supports Fluttercord not being a thing? You don’t think it can be denial? We know he didn’t care about tea in Discordant Harmony much and now he claims tea is the reason why he has visited her since season 3? And Spike mentioning it is the first time the show mentions the possibility which legimizes the idea a bit and shows characters in universe have thought of it. Not that is has to happen or that this was not the writers shooting the idea down. But it’s still not negative either.
Discord doesn’t deny anything. He’s perfectly honest. Stop trying to change who he is. He would’ve blushed if he got caught. So naive. He doesn’t crush on a borderline little girl, so stop pretending it’s even a thing when there’s zero canon evidence of Fluttercord!
I really hate that later episodes did absolutely *nothing* with Sugar Belle being an apprentice and Sugarcube Corner, when she could have gotten to see Pinkie Pie again! She didn't even get meet Grand Pear except for a silent cameo in The Best Gift Ever! What a waste if Season 9 ends with all that forgotten about. This is why I need to write a Season 10! i don't ship Discord at all, he is ancient, an embodiment, a spirit, basiclly a god!, try to find someone close to his age before putting him on a boat (and no Celestia does not count, since Discord is way older then her)

nathan prins We’ll never know for sure because it wasn’t stated. As far as I’m concerned, old immortals aged past a lifespan aren’t weird if they date each other. It’s much different with someone like Fluttershy who’s a borderline minor.
Anyone interested in how Discord feels deep down about loving someone else and becoming a stable, supportive spouse should read issue #20 of the Friends Forever comics. I know it’s not 100 percent canon but I believe it’s a pretty reasonable interpretation.

Unfortunately for her as long as Fluttercord is the only positive interaction Discord has regularly it's the only ship on the sea. Celesticord is more or less just a partially built raft and Sparklecord is more or less just a guy clinging to a piece of wood in a storm.

I did like how this was the first Discord episode where Discord wasn't the focus. Sure, on the one hand, we're missing out a bit on the special ocasion of a DeLancie episode. But on the other cheek, seeing Discord in a different spotlight (i.e., not in the spotlight) was really interesting.
