THAT PART! SW fans gotta chill out and STOP insisting that these characters DON’T grow. I know it’s sci-fi fantasy, but these characters are NOT meant to be static cartoon characters. They’re meant to be REAL PEOPLE & real people go through stuff, sometimes it’s changes them for better or worse.
This, thank you! I’ve seen too many people expect a middle-aged woman to have the same outlook on life (after everything she’s been through) as an inexperienced teenager.
There's about a DECADE from when Rebels left off to when this picks up... People can change a lot in just 1 year... These characters you became familiar with aren't the same people after dealing with a full Rebellion vs Empire war! Obviously Ahsoka trained Sabine for awhile... Something happened... We pick up with Sabine preferring isolation after being abandoned... Now there's a bit of animosity. These episodes established where they are now... Jaded... and finishes with, this is where they have to go... Together! Look forward to episode 3!!! 😁
Viewers seem to be losing site that Ahsoka is now in her 40's during this time period. She is not the 15-19 year old of the Clone Wars. At this point, not only is she older, more mature, experienced and powerful, she's also one of the two most powerful Jedi's in the galaxy along with Luke. So no, you shouldn't expect her to be the witty, funny and bright Ahsoka of the Clone Wars. That's an unrealistic expectation. She's simply not that person anymore. She wasn't even that person in Rebels. She had already matured a bit. In this time, she is the elder statesman, a teacher/mentor, a Jedi master. And again, a common flaw amongst viewers, there is this desire to microwave the storylines. Why are we in a hurry to rush the storylines when we no nothing about THIS story? Just makes no sense. Sit back, watch and enjoy.
I do agree with your point on her maturity (mentaly) 100%! However Togruta's do age physicaly at somewhat slower pase in comparison to humans. So even if she is in her 40s, physically she should still feel around 26 - 30 ish.
It's the anniversary of the day she lost Ezra so it makes perfect sense that Sabine wouldn't wanna be there how can she celebrate on the anniversary of a loss of a dear friend. Also Sabine is a tech wizard remember she built that weapon that we used to destroy Mandalorians that combined with her art history makes her the perfect candidate to decipher the map
Sabine leaving was because of the uncomfortable history she had on the ship - and because Ahsoka didn't say WHY she shouldn't leave. Mentioning two unknown people with lightsabers being after the map might have kept her closer to home... And you are DEFINITELY reading our three leads wrong. It's been ten years since Rebels, a lot has happened, they've changed and so have their relationships. What banter do you expect between Ahsoka and Sabine when they obviously have had some issues that are unresolved? Why would they be the same people as they were back then? That's not how life works...
I’m absolutely in love with this series so far. If you guys didn’t know, episode one pays a tribute to late actor Ray Stevenson, who passed away a while back before the series began.
Things to remember in this episode. We are introduced to Sabine on the Anniversery of the 10th year anniversery of the day Ezra was Taken. This is why Sabine leave a celebration that honors her as a hero for saving saved lothal. look at the scene when when Sabine arrives at the port to meet ahsoka for the first time in who knows how long. the awkwardness is really palpible there. Ahsoka is looking down and away from sabine. Sabine is talking to Ryder, and huyang and also avoiding looking at Ahsoka. then once Ryder leaves they are left standing there starring at each other quietly for over 20 seconds. from the trailers we know there was a scene cut here where the two of them speak. but they cut it out and instead leave them stewing in silence for 20+ seconds. it's obvious Sabine is waiting for something from Ahsoka and Ahsoka just can't seem to spit it out so rather than greeting her, or apologizing for anything she just jumps straight into the map. that right there is Extremely atypical for ahsoka. She greeting hera warmly when they met, and when sabine arrived she had apparntly had a nice converstaion with ryder about why she is there. but with sabine awkward silence before finally going with i think i know how to find ezra. then they go in the ship and as soon as ahsoka walks away the music turns very happily nostlogic as sabine examines her old bunk. and when ahsoka gets back its immediatly back to work there is no small talk no nothing. It's Sabine who is presumably the injured party here that finally has to ask a personal question. but notice once they did get started on talking personally she didn't want to let that moment go when huyang interupted them. seeing them interact is very uncomfortable to watch. For Sabine it must be 10x worse to actually experience it. remember SHE is the hurt party here. so why does she want to leave? the ship being on the ship with ahsoka again is emotionally hard for her to deal with. its why she wants space (also cuz all her stuff is at her house which she can use to decypher the map) You can see they were only together a few minutes and already ahsoka stepped on a land mine about being where she is needed. but when sabine leaves it isn't dark. its seems the sun is still setting as its quite bright out. The call between Ahsoka and Hera however is at night. Ahsoka could have tracked down where Sabine was at any time. but a) she also realizes how awkward things are between them b)she trusts Sabine to crack the map, C) she's a well trained mandalorian, she assumes she can trust her to protect herself if need by. the only issue is that it seems her walking away really did a number on Sabine. In Rebels you almost never saw her without her armor. and now we see her helment in the back of her room under one of her tables. there is also a reason she had short hair in rebels, long hair + mando helmets dont mix. she clearly put away her helment/armor and seemingly gave up on both her jedi & mandalorian training. its why she is so rusty. i dont know if she could have defeated shin if she had kept up but she did do pretty well against kanan at the end of her lightsaber training with him, she could have done alot better against shin. but she just seemingly doing all of those things we remember of her from rebels. obviously she is still doing her art and i believe she has been flying around with the lothal defence force but thats about it. As one of you guys said Ahsoka is trying to remain unemotional. outwardly it definitely looks like she's accomplishing her desire, but when you start looking closer you realize everything isn't what it appears. she's lost all of her friends and mentors, she left her master, he then turned evil and then he died. she feels guilty over leaving him and no doubt it must hurt that she never got the chance to repair their relationship. Ezra saved her life & she promised to get back to them once she returned only once she did , she found out he sacrificied himself to save everyone from thrawn. than at after decades alone she takes a huge step and decides to train a padawan and something obviously happened that makes her leave. personally i think sabine was hurt and she found to her chargrin that she had formed an attachment to her. the very thing that turned her master evil. the reason she claimed she wouldn't train grogu over. and now she foudn herself attached to her padawan as she once had to her master. so she walked away, and has tried to turn herself into this stoic person that doesn't need anyone but as soon as she sees her apprentice for the first time in years she can't even look at her for almost a minute. its all there, its just very subtle because ahsoka is trying to be that stoic unemotional kind of person.

I hadn't seen any of Rebels--though I did have the benefit of some explanation from Erik Voss' breakdown of the trailer--and felt that the first two episodes combined gave me enough backstory to follow what's going on and who's who (even before watching Voss' breakdown of each episode), AND it got me to start watching Rebels (though only the first few episodes thus far, I'm definitely continuing that!).
Be warned the first season and a half the show is finding its footing so it may seem childlike and silly but trust me there's a turning point in the show and it get more mature and has some incredible character development and story arcs!!
So, you guys are having problems with post-clone / post-galactic war PTSD Ahsoka? I guess none of you can accept the fact that Snips is a harden-jaded warrior in her 40s - war will do that to anyone. Just hang in there, maybe Ahsoka can still surprise you before this first season is done...
I don't know why anyone would expect Ahsoka to be the same as she was in Clone Wars when she was much younger. Is anyone in their 40's still the same person they were in their teens and 20's? People change, especially with all she has experienced over the years. I think how she is now at this stage of her life with all that she has experienced makes sense for her character development.
@@bobbyfischer9925 not sure new character. Same character that's older and been through lots of things including her dealing with her master that was traumatic
Sabine’s inability to control her emotions is why Ahsoka left her, she couldn’t train her for the same reason she wouldn’t train Grogu, she sees Anakin’s fall in their inability to move past their emotions. Sabine went off to find Ezra with Ahsoka, they didn’t, she feels like she failed him and failed herself. She went back to Lethal and she forgot what training she had gotten, she wallowed in not finding Ezra and not completing her training and she’s been in limbo all this time. She hasn’t grown, she hasn’t changed past the impetuous girl she was before Ezra, before the dark saber, she’s almost waiting for something to light her fire again. I didn’t watch Rebels, so for me, this is Ahsoka, I don’t feel any attachment to any other portrayal of the character, and I see a lot of people comparing and finding differences. I’m kind of glad I’m not having that experience with this because it probably would take away from the live action experience for me. Ahsoka isn’t a kid anymore, we don’t know what she’s experienced prior to this, she blames herself for leaving Anakin, maybe even thinks if she had stayed he wouldn’t have fallen to the dark side, if she had stayed she could have helped his children know who their father really was before he was gone. Did she see Obi before Anakin killed him, did she feel his death? She carries a lot of guilt being a survivor of order 66, and she survived because of the training the man who helped carry out that order, gave her. She’s one of the few Jedi/not Jedi left. All of that changes a person so I’m going to cut Rosario some slack because she’s been given Ashoka’s history and she knows who she is now, not ten years ago, when the cartoons show her. I’ve seen 2 and 3 and I am loving this. I’m disappointed that they are doing shorter series now, I think it crunches the stories down and they feel rushed at the end, but we will see.
Lol ezra had a crush on sabine at first. He was a kid but as time went on it definitely turned into a brother sister relationship and from sabine point of view ezra was annoying
People seem to forget that Dave has to tell this story from two different points of view, those who have no knowledge of SW and those who have seen TCW and Rebels. I hope people don't criticize your work like you have done to Dave. This series is reminding me of a Robin Cook novel from his early years of writing and as Master Yoda would say "patience have you must".
Sabine is a Mandalorian by birth and training. So her armor is very much Beskar. If Im not mistaken she even mentions this in the episode of REBELS where the gang finally destroys the weapons Sabine created which enslaved her people. Weapon drawn towards Beskar.
her mandalorian poise emerges in Episode three. I have an inclination the writing and directing gave Natasha (playing Sabine) something new to explore and great things were discovered. Thanks for your comment (Jose Miguel)
Stop it Stop it, I would think that a family of artisans and actors such as yours would recognize that Dave is telling a story like a book. Dave learned how to tell stories like movie quality from George while doing animation as a padawan so going from animation to live action is what he already knows. Sabine was a creative engineering genius in Rebels, do you remember she developed a weapon to destroy Beskar while she was a cadet in the Imperial training academy? Do not expect Ahsoka to behave like that young teen age girl from the TCW, we saw a level of maturing in Rebels and we do not know how long she was in the WBW before she decided to train Sabine. People have also forgotten that Dave created Ahsoka as another interesting Jedi and it was George who told him that she would be Anakin's padawan after Dave said Anakin did not have a padawan and George said he does now, the rest is history.
YES! I agree with little brother.. I like the student master thing going on between baylen and the girl... I love how she looks to him , it reminds me of how the Jedi and padawan's used to be... That girl is playing a great part.. She looks strong and confident, but not cocky, and yet still loyal to her master.. I get the impression that those 2 only are loyal to each other.. Its a great addition to this story... And my God, ray Stevenson is unbelievable in this...what a loss we were dealt in the star wars universe... I could see these2 in future films...
So im writing this after episode 3. So some of my concerns from the first 2 episodes aren't really that bad for me anymore. I think alot of people including myself had a hard time adjusting and accepting Ahsoka in this state shes in. We are use to the witty, funny, bright Ahsoka and thats not what we got. At least in the first 2 for me I realize now shes not in the best mental state. Im speculating here but this is Ahsoka after shes had the encounter with Darth Vader. We havent really seen her sense then, outside the epilouge of rebels. We havent seen how thats affected her and maybe thats what were getting here. The last two times Anakin has been mentioned in the show so far Ahsoka kinda deflates lol. And i think if she does recconect with Anakins force ghost we might see her accept that the past is unchangeable and there is nothing she could have done and hopefully she makes peace with it. And maybe we see her old personality shine thru again. But who knows im just speculating.
Exactly, she's very stoic and stand off ish. Rosario dawson acting is making it clear she is cold and not very accepting of anything hence the reason sabine said ahsoka stopped their training
@@AtlCinderella80not only that but based on what's she's been through the character has earned every right to be stoic and more measured-- what grandma acts like she did when she was 17 years old. She's of a grandmas age now and we meet her in her teens years it's not realistic she would be the same especially considering all she's been through. Don't forget she missed a lot of years trapped in that time prism thingy too she went in and came out years later-- she's been through it from the times since she was a baby (see Jedi Tales)!!
51:11 - Yep, it's made of Beskar. There's an exchange in Rebels where beskar armor is seen as a danger, and Ezra asks why not take it off and use some other armor. Sabine responds by noting a deep connection between Mandalorians and their beskar armor. She goes on to note that her armor, though reforged to her standards, has been family beskar handed down for around 500 years.
5:28 Yeah, I don't much, but I heard these are supposed to be Dark Jedi. Their not fully Sith. A little similar to the Grey Jedi, however, still very different. They might explain later on
Yes dad....the banter between hera, kannan, Ezra, Sabine, zeb was the whole show.. Im an old Star Wars fan. Im 48 , so I'm from the OT trilogy, but I LOVE REBELS!! Because it had exactly what dad is talking about at 1:02:55... It had that Luke, Leia Han, chewy thing going... In rebels, when kanan dies, I was emotional.. And when Sabine was training with the dark saber and she broke down about leaving her family.... That got me.. Those characters in rebels great!!! I just don't feel it yet, maybe it's just me, maybe I have to change my perspective with this series.... But I definitely agree with what dad was saying..
But the banter wouldn't just 'happen' when they've been apart for years, and their friend still missing. The 'connection' you should be talking about is the *re-connection* that is _gradually_ happening between the gang in these first two eps. But we definitely see the banter coming back in ep3!
@@TalkBeliefsSee, you get it. When you meet with friends, and even family, that you haven't seen or talked to in years, most of the time you have to start the process of reconnecting again (even more so if you had a falling out with that person). So you won't just jump into banter like if nothing happened. I'm expecting how Sabine and Ahsoka were with each other is going to go a similar way when they find Ezra considering how long it's been. Kind of awkward at first, but reconnecting.
Boy u guys were so super negative about the first episode-- sounded like u guys were tortured by watching it and didn't like anything about it. Man U guys are hard to please.... lots of negativity for the first episode I'm shocked cuz I loved it-- but hey I appreciate everyone's opinions...
I was quite deflated to hear your misgivings about these opening episodes... BUT I do very much appreciate that you are speaking what you actually feel and not being jazzed for the sake of being jazzed. You are, however, a very positive reaction channel and only one of two that I continue to subscribe to (along with Blind Wave). Saying that... I'm betting you're gonna love the series more and more! (Andor took me ages to get into; so glad I stuck with it!). ❤
Yeah it was a bit jarring watching this family who we have grown to love and who are very positive n general takes turns all beating the crap out of the show with one negative comment after another-- I was like what am I hearing! But I got over that and just appreciated their honesty if I couldn't relate to any of their criticisms personally. I still respect everyone's right to express their truths
The Kiner's do wonderful work on the score to this show, (as they did in the Clone Wars and Rebels) btw ii have seen the art work of Sabine Wrens painted wall in person (down in San Diego comic con this year) and I was every bit in awe of it in person as it looks ion screen.and the Loth Cat was on display as well and the animatronic puppet of it was incredible to see. So granted these episodes were a little slow burn, but its a lot of set up to bring in a new audience who might not know anything of these characters. Im pretty certain we will be getting more space battles and lightsaber fights in the future. You have to also remember this is Ahsoka towards what im guessing is the elder age of her journey she is more skilled more disciplined than ever she is as good as she can be as a force user, so there is only pure focus (her young adventure days her clone wars and rebels eras of been younger have passed her by) There is definitely back story for Sabine that we all need context in her time with Ahsoka (post Rebels) I say trust in Dave Filoni, lets see what we get by the end of the season. (but in additional thoughts) yes Dave Filoni, does take his time setting shots in the first episode. and btw David Tenant as Huyang (who was alos in the Clone Wars episodes with the Younglings training to build their lightsabers) is an awesome companion (sorry for the lengthy post just so passionate on the character of Ahsoka, but completely see everyones perspectives in the issues episode 1 and 2 has. Cant wait to see your reaction to episode 3.
Disappointing to hear that most of your comments were negative, and I have no patience for viewers who want everything explained and clear immediately instead of having the patience and appreciation for a story that unfurls. Your expressions while watching said it all. Maybe you'll find something to like in the remaining episodes, perhaps. I respect that you're being honest in your reactions though, even if I disagreed for the most part.
@mithmatt6002 so grateful for your sincere and respectful thoughts. I have to admit that being an actor I cannot help but have a visceral reaction to the first 2 episodes. I still want to revisit them and give them a fair chance to affect me as they intended. I cannot fully understand why the relationship between Sabine and Ahsoka just did not land for me (Jose Miguel, the MaJeliv Dad). Now, after watching episode 3 my excitement for this show is restored. To be clear, i get all the story points, but something went a miss for me and I cannot outline all of it as of yet...
Episode 5 these guys will get a religious experience once they see the Anakin and Ahsoka scenes… and sounds like they should’ve rewatched rebels again before watching this show, so they’d remember it better.
They can't connect because they hated Ahsoka in the Mandalorian season two they were complaining about her Couldn't find the video but I remember pretty well I was turned off by their complaining... Everybody else loved Mandalorian season two Ahsoka .. It's called being overly nitpicky
So, I get that Hera didn't want to cause a bunch of devastation by shooting down the ship over the city, but it would've been a good idea to shoot the SSD hyperdrive core that it was carrying a few times to make it unusable.
What the f you talking about ? Can anyone dont like the things in show? At least they questioning bullshit things in it. Not like stupid fans or other reactors that likes everything. You watching a geek family. Not a random people react. Keep like everything without questions.
@@pauldavis5665as I watch its more so they are actors and dad is coach so they are approaching this from a expert standpoint on how they would do it instead of just watching it instead of directing it. Dave knows what he is doing and it will make sense in the end
Kanan literally correctd Hera when she thought he didn't wanted to train Sabine because she was not Force sensitive. "The Force is in all living beings" was his phrashing if not mistaken. Plus she heard the voices in the tunnel when they were travelling with the loth wolves in Lothal. Also really? Complaning because she got her lightsaber instead of wasting time putting armor? It feels to me you had already decided on hating on the show before even starting to watch it...
I think your reaction to these first two episodes is somewhat to my niece and I's reaction because both of us watched Clone Wars and Rebels. I'm the one in my family and friend group whose watched all caught up watching everything (I was behind on The Mandalorian, but got caught up finally). My niece, sister, and I have watched all the movies. My niece and I have watched the animated series (Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistance, Bad Batch). My sister and I watched Andor....Andor being the first series she's watched. We all three watched Kenobi. So for my niece and I we were definitely more interested in the story with the antagonists because they're unfamiliar, especially the former Jedi and his padawan who both as a character and motivations and plans remain a mystery. For us seeing the familiar characters was just like seeing cameo moments and we weren't really as focused on what was happening with them and were paying more attention to details like their skin, hair, costumes or we were paying attention to the locations. I mean I was excited to see Governor Azadi and Jai Kell from Rebels and seeing a lothcat in live action. So for us we weren't invested in the story between Ahsoka and Sabine and Hera. Meanwhile my sister only knows of the characters from listening to my niece and I talk about them, but hasn't actually watched the shows they're featured in. So for here she was actually interested in the story between Ahsoka and Sabine and Ahsoka and Hera and who Huyang is and so on. After finishing the two episodes she felt like she had enough sense and information about the characters to be able to follow along on whatever new adventures this series takes us on. I don't usually go into a series' first set of episodes with much expectations. The only thing I expect is that it will give me a basic sense of who the characters are, a feel for the setting, and a general idea of what the plot(s) might be. That's easy to do when I don't even know any of the characters (like watching the first episode of Rebels for the first time), but it's definitely different when familiar characters are involved. So usually with familiar, well-established characters, I try to not get so focused on them and just focus on what and who is new and unfamiliar. It's not always easy, of course, but it's an approach that works for me because I try to remind myself that the one thing I like most about Star Wars is that every move or show is created in a way that a person who hasn't seen anything else can watch it for the very first time and still follow along. I saw this with a friend who watched Andor while visiting a mutual friend and that's what got her into Star Wars finally and now with my sister whose watching this series. I was worried she wouldn't be able to follow along without having seen Clone Wars and Rebels. I had even suggested watching the shows together before this show began (after watching Kenobi she was kind of interested in watching Clone Wars, but then she got busy and it didn't happen), but she was fine going into the show without that knowledge. And it turns out that, per usual, Star Wars writers/etc remember that any show or film could be someone's first introduction to the franchise and so they ensured to write/produce a show that helps newcomers be able to watch and enjoy, too. I'm hoping that after episde 8 of Ahsoka she'll be even more interested in watching Clone Wars and finally interested in watching Rebels. 🙂 So yeah, I understand what you're saying with your critiques. I think my niece and I had said many similar things, but for my sister whom these are all new characters, she loved it and is excited to keep watching. My niece and I are still excited to watch it and I don't think any critiques I've seen people talk about the show are meant that they aren't going to keep watching, but I think there's just different ways to enjoy it and I think the first two episodes really are more for setting up a lot of things for first time or partial Star Wars viewers than they are for those of us who are more into Star Wars and watch almost everything, read almost everything, play the videogames, etc. And that's definitely a thing I like about Star Wars compared to other franchises I'm a fan of: it is constantly trying to find the balance between ensuring anything can be an entry point for someone to get into Star Wars while also providing new things for fans that go deep into it. I don't think it's ever perfect, but I appreciate the effort that's made to even have that balance in the first place. And I love whenever a friend or family member who still hasn't watched Star Wars finally find something they're interested in or comes acrossed it somehow and gets into it for the first time. I've been watching Star Wars since I was 6 (in 1984 my aunt and uncle rented the three original films for a family night where we had pizza, soda-pop, and gathered to watch films. My parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents all said my cousins and I would like the films and we've been hooked ever since and I was thrilled to see the special editions in theaters when those came out in the 1990s so I could see them on the big screen and then excited when the prequels came out and excited when Star Wars series came out and I'm just thrilled that we continue to get new Star Wars. I went so long as a kid without anything new other than mostly comics and books that I love that there's just more and more continued to be made and the stories keep expanding). Great video reaction and conversation/commentary about the episodes! I loved hearing all your varying thoughts on so many different aspects of the episodes from the acting, sets, and story to the music and cinematography. I appreciate your thorough review! I look forward to seeing your next video!
I have been surprised at how many people had to be reminded of Morgan Elsbeth from "The Mandalorian" episode. I don't know if it speaks to the abundance of stuff to watch or how a series episode resonates or what.
wow you guys were very very HARSH in your criticisms... i never usually comment... usually just watch all the reactions... having read a lot of comments below i can say everyone has already pretty much pointed out the obvious stuff that you guys clearly just missed... maybe you're all just having a bad day (or night) at one point i was questioning whether or not i had watched the same show you guys were watching??!! LOL but hey each to their own... i can't say i agree with ANY of your criticisms.... the characters are definitely on point in regards to where they are in this timeline... the cinematic choices are also awesome... the night sisters temple LOOKED AMAZING (not flat as you described) and the story is playing out as it should (rebels fan or not) and the music..... how can you criticize the amazing score from kevin kiner?? i stopped watching in the end as you guys just sucked out my entire life force... sorry
we truly appreciate your honest thoughts and are thrilled to share our experience with this show. This is Jose Miguel, the MaJeliv Dad. One of the joys of what we do as a family is to share our immediate reaction to what we watch with our community. The first episode of Ahsoka has elements we loved, but the elements that went amiss for me primarily have mostly to do with Editing, Directing and the Acting choices. Mind you, I have no way of truly knowing how they went about putting this together, but I do know how difficult it is to put a show like this together. So anything I said was honestly me, trying to figure out why something was not landing with me. As I make sense of it, I too learn so much as a storyteller. The audience reaction also guides me and teaches me and so for all that I am deeply grateful. I am sorry my comments "sucked out the life force from your life," if you've spent time on our channel, you know that's not why we do this work. Still i know our honest thoughts will not be received well by most people, especially when dealing with these 2 first episodes, but that's okay. That's the beauty of art, it will live as it is no matter what we don't or do agree on. Ultimately, I thank you for your time and your thoughts. Hopefully you'll watch our episode 3 reaction where something shifted and my hope for this show gets restored...

I thought some of you were over-analyzing things after just one episode. Especially since episode 1 and 2 were released together. As other are pointing out, this series takes place about 10 years after the end of the final season of Rebels. Things have happened between Ahsoka and Sabine that we are not aware of yet. They never had much of a relationship in Rebels. Now we''re told they were master-padawan but that relationship ended prematurely and Sabine harbors some resentment. Not sure why you were expecting dramatic confrontation when these two characters are meeting again after a long time apart.
@@willfanofmanyii3751 Yeah but who builds a highway to a single building used by one person? Everyone uses repulsorlift vehicles so the road is completely unnecessary unless you have actual traffic.
@@misteryman526 Because the Empire used it as an entry point for their land vehicles when delivered by ships, as the city itself had no landing zones except the Imperial Dome.
That engine they stole was salvaged from Vader’s star destroyer. That shot isn’t the same shot, that shot was years ago when they first tried to find Ezra, Ahsoka was in all white for that original shot and it was ten years prior
...I don't feel like Sabine is the mandalorion that she was in rebels... She was the best one in rebels, she would do all the tech for the missions, she would hack systems, she would build weapons.... I want to see that from Sabine... The real Sabine would of never got caught by the padawan, like she did, rebels Sabine would have a weapon system riged by her house... She would have some kind of century set up, and she would go to her weapons... Idk.......but I do like the series so far...
Maybe go back and look at what George Lucas said about being force sensitive decades ago B4 you hop on the "this is new to me so I'm criticizing it"train it's on video where he says everyone is force sensitive in the star wars galaxy but there's level to it.he said that before the midichlorines stuff. Everyone's is capable to learn but just like karate some are better than others even though they have trained the same. There's 50 years of lore to dig from the films cartoons, books and games so stop blaming a certain producer, company or team when you don't know where they got their story beats from. Even the most hardcore fan doesn't now everything in the lore. And stop expecting Ashoka to be the same as a almost 50 years old woman as she was as a teenager who's been in a war. I fought in a war as a teen and I'm very different at 40 than I was then, hell I'm different than I was 5 years ago. Not everything is going to connect with people I understand that but expecting things to be the same as it was doesn't advance the story one bit. You're seeing what happens in the aftermath of a galaxy wide war and the affects that it has . It isn't sunshine and rainbows after wars lasts forever
@ghostlee we truly appreciate your comment and constant presence here. I too thank you for your service; seeing the things you have, gives you a perspective I deeply respect. I do humbly ask that my comments not take away from the genuine salute I send you. To be clear, my reaction to the first 2 episodes revolves one simple fact, my instinct as an actor responds differently to the material and the story of these characters. Ahsoka and Sabine have so much great potential to have a dynamic relationship; it actually gets revealed in episode three and I found great solace knowing "life" found a way through all the exposition. It's no easy task to do what Dave Filoni and the Ahsoka team have done, so I fully appreciate all they do. And I fully agree with you, Ahsoka has been through so much life and loss. Sabine also has been through so much life and loss. As the days go on, I keep revisiting, "why did they're take on these characters not land with me in those initial moments?" I still don't have a complete answer. Editing might be the main culprit, and yet it can easily just be me. Something might be amiss with my own take on these characters; maybe its just different. And yet, you'll see in our episode 3 reaction, something clicked between Ahsoka and Sabine and with the spark finally lit in me, my hope was restored on what's happening on such a layered story that barely scratched the surface in episode 1 and 2. I hope this insanely long reply shows you my respect for you and your presence here, that above all is the greatest gift. Peace to you and Godspeed. -Jose Miguel
I definitely for some reason feel the emotion of baylen and his student, rather than ahsoka and Sabine.... And its not because I don't like Sabine or snips.... Sabine was my favorite character in rebels.... I don't know what missing, but it feels like something is...
Why would sabine want to get back at ahsoka 😂 and be vindictive? Remember ahsoka wasn't close to any of them in rebels, she only was in a few episodes. She doesn't have that close connection to any of them
Well I'll argue she had a connection with Ezra. Hence why Ezra was distraught when he thought she was dead and why she promised him she'll find him in the WBW and took that promise seriously.
I have to say that the Ahsoka space suit had a little Goofy Star Wars vibe, mixed with a bit of SpaceX designed practical super style. But hey, at least the sequence was better than the Storm Troopers aim in the OT. lol
So only human space suits look legit and she should be in one of those or it's goofy? All species have space suits tailored to them what in particular looked goofy about a suit that is made specifically for her species? How would u make a space suit for her that wouldn't be goofy? Just curious
The motif of the Lekku encasement had a slightly different style. But I'm not poking a jab at all, it is part of what made this scene fun for me as it seemed OT and CW at the same time. The comedy is that in her galaxy the technology is far ahead of ours, but her suit looked like SpaxeX designed it, because it was not only functional but also stylish. This is perfect Star Wars for her character.@@zerekanthony2203
Sorry but when everyone begin to talk serious, the sudden or slow zoom kicks in, it chuckles me lol. My humor tastes is really low 😅 Great reaction and discussion btw
If you guys are gonna trash the show every episode please stop watching and reacting. Maybe it's not for yall. All the negativity isn't rewarding for the viewer's. The show is getting rave reviews so far
Oh I feel the same-- I'm surprised cuz they aren't know for hating but I guess they let it all out on this show. It's funny too cuz the positive response for this show has been deafening-- trending for 2 wks on twitter and all the reactions I've seen except for them have been extremely positive they are definitely the outliners and not representative of most reactions and responses I've seen. But hey they gotta be true to themselves and if they didn't like they are entitled to their opinion and it's their channel so they should be able to express that-- just surprised their such downers?
Don't watch their videos then 💀 I like the show but there's a LOT of flaws. If you'd rather watch people react to it that don't have anything negative to say, then do that 🤷🏿♂️
@@VoteSaxon99 so ur saying they are allowed to voice their displeasure but we as an audience aren't allowed to do the same of them? What's the difference between u telling someone not to watch if u dont like and the person who suggested to them to do the same? Seems a bit hypocritical. Think the better idea is for o give everyone space to have their own opinions. They can hate the show and people are allowed to hate their reactions...
@@zerekanthony2203 Because they're saying for them to stop watching. Why? Let them keep watching. It's only 2 episodes into the series. They're not loving it so far but they might like what's to come. And judging by comments by this channel on this video, they liked episode 3. So again, why tell them to stop watching? If you don't want to watch people that don't like the show, watch others. It's as simple as that
Yeah I felt like it started weak myself. The advantage of animation was the exaggeration of expression and more fluid movement. And now the alleged villains feel more kinetic than our supposed heroins...and that's sad. This show feels like the spidey reveals in No Way Home, every shot is supposed to get an oouu and awe, but with no concrete build up for that pay off other than years off cache from other medias. Hoping for the best though, meh so far lol.
I know u guys might not like my comment. But you guys need to be little overhype for things. Also hire a better editor or tell ur current editor to speed up the pacing btw jump cuts.... there are few things editor is missing that could make these reactions way better...
I love the visuals in this, but I agree there could have been better character development. They need to up the stakes. The character of Ahsoka, in the way she is written so far, is coming off as a "Johnny one note." No humor, no passion, no conflict, no real connection with Sabine. I think Rosario Dawson is being underused with this character. I agree the character of Skoll is the most interesting. There is a palpable internal conflict there and you can sense the connection with his Palawan. I love the little business between Skoll and Hati in the first episode when he explains she is to go after Sabine on Lothal. The looks they exchange and the subtle nods are as if they are exchanging thoughts. Kudos to Ivanka Sakhno for milking that character for all it's worth! Beautifully done. I still hope that the episodes will improve. I think there is still alot of potential.
I found the show slow and a bit boring. The long drawn out walking and looks reminded me of reports from high school to make it look longer but adds nothing to the story.
My immediate thought on this was perhaps the editing was just off. Episode 3 seems to kick things into a different gear. Excited to share that one with you all.
What the f the comments are talking about ? Can anyone dont like the things in show? At least they questioning bullshit things in it. Not like stupid fans or other reactors that likes everything. You watching a geek family. Not a random people react. Keep like everything without questions.
Bull shit, the things they are questioning are stupid. Of course Sabine and ahsoka are gonna be disconnected because it's been years since any interaction and second they clearly had a failing out
@@VoteSaxon99so I'm confused.. it's okay for them to have criticisms and voice them but when others do the same if their reaction that's not okay? How all opinions of the show and their reactions are valid and ok! Geez...
@@VoteSaxon99 When any reactor says bad thing for the show , they doing same type of comments like "why you guys saying like , its not bad , its soo good. İf you look at the other reactors they are not geek at all. They just like everything.
Don't forget Ahsoka is around 47 years old and her outlook/attitude and experience are a lot different from when she was 14-19 in the Clone Wars.
You're just gullable... These characters are not Ashoka, not Sabine, not Herra
@@petrgalko4152depends on what she’s been through, stress, battling inquisitors, bounty hunters, whoever she has faced, takes a physical toll
Look at Luke from Star Wars to Return of the Jedi - his character is quite different.
It WAS hinted that Sabine was forced to sensitive. Damn y’all were too harsh on the critiques.
Grabbing a saber takes less time than getting Mando gear. This is that complaining without actual thought
I’m absolutely in love with this series so far. If you guys didn’t know, episode one pays a tribute to late actor Ray Stevenson, who passed away a while back before the series began.
Grabbing a Lightsaber takes a lot less time then putting on any armor. Also a baster is useless against a Lightsaber.
Exactly 😂 like she really had time to.put.on full mando armor after she clearly hadn't worn it in years hence the long hair
That last sentence messed me up, laughed for a minute.

We really enjoyed Episode 3, stay tuned for our thoughts to it!
WHO is PTSD Ahsoka ? Is it new character? ahhahha What a funny comment. Yes we didnt guessed anything sir. Thanks for inspirational comment.
Exactly, they expected them to be all lovey on each other, its obvious it's conflict between them

A lot of people think that Marrok is Starkiller. Sam Witwer is listed in the voice credits for this character
Sabine and ahsoka had zero interaction in rebels lol, she only really connected with ezra and Kanon
Your opinions might change after episode 3, as it gets even better.

U didnt like it? Thats surprising i thought its great so far
Same! It had a stronger first episode start compared to shows like Andor or Mando.
Most reviews from reactors have been very positive for this show so far. I am surprised they didn't like it, but everyone has a different opinion.

I’m binging your Ahsoka reactions now, I barley started the video and already love the family crawl reading. 😂😂
The father is going to love Ahsoka episode 3.
I need Merrin to show up at some point, it would be so perfect!
Hilarious how upset yall are and congrats on being the only reactors I watch who didnt like these first 2 episodes
This is so wholesome. I really enjoy watching you all! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you! Will do!
LOL but hey each to their own... i can't say i agree with ANY of your criticisms.... the characters are definitely on point in regards to where they are in this timeline... the cinematic choices are also awesome... the night sisters temple LOOKED AMAZING (not flat as you described) and the story is playing out as it should (rebels fan or not) and the music..... how can you criticize the amazing score from kevin kiner?? i stopped watching in the end as you guys just sucked out my entire life force... sorry
Kevin Kiner is a musical genius and he's been at his bet scoring the fort 3 episode- I fully agree with that!
we truly appreciate your honest thoughts and are thrilled to share our experience with this show.

Thanks Jose@@MaJeliv for taking the time to respond to me.. I really appreciate it... as fans we all have the right to express ourselves both positively and negatively i understand that.. i personally try to avoid the huge amount of toxic hate directed at starwars by most of youtube channels these days preferring to watch people who watch/analyse/discuss more than surface deep... give their views and hopes without spitting the dummy if their wants and hopes don't pan out... I guess i was just not expecting such a negative reception from you guys from the get go and it jarred me.... I do hope you start to enjoy it more as the story unfolds... peace

11:25 Why are the highways into and out of Capital City on Lothal always completely empty except for Rebels' characters?
Because the highway is to Ezra's tower.
Andor is when Empire still in power ? Same thing as Mandalorian
Well said-- and thank you for your service!!!

Sabines rebel attitude is all about missing Ezra. She also is not a religious type of mandalorian so she isnt gonna react like Mando would.
Just to be clear, I unsubscribed because you guys clearly enjoyed the episodes then you s**t on it in the review.
I definitely for some reason feel the emotion of baylen and his student, rather than ahsoka and Sabine.... And its not because I don't like Sabine or snips.... Sabine was my favorite character in rebels.... I don't know what missing, but it feels like something is...
Idk sounds like a you problem
Great reaction! It is very interesting to see your joint reaction to the film Robocop 1987. This is a cool classic 👍🔥
extremely disappointing reaction. too bad.

@@VoteSaxon99 so ur saying they are allowed to voice their displeasure but we as an audience aren't allowed to do the same of them?
