This Shotkam goose hunting compilation is the best shots I had on honkers this past season. I was lucky enough to get to goose hunt a few different states and chase them over water and in fields. Hope you enjoy!

Great content! We'll start sending your channel to our clients who recently bought land from us near the hunting areas. This will surely give them motivation to try new activities like hunting and camping. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Thanks for watching and sharing!
Hunting northeastern South Dakota, pass shooting. Early season was tough. Warm weather in ND and Canada kept birds from consistently passing through, but had some bangers when the migration kicked in. Great videos! All the best.
Do you strictly pass shoot out there? If so I'd be interested to hear how you setup those hunts and what species you target. I've heard of guys doing it for snow geese in that part of the country but that's about it
@@HokeOutdoors Most hunters in this area area decoying like anywhere else. However, there is a chain of long, deep lakes that provides good diver duck hunting. Its a hunting club that was incorporated in 1914, but had been a club prior to that. My wife and I found brass from the late 1800's out there this past spring. There are pits in the ground between the two lakes. We shoot a mixed bag, however, during the migration, it's key species is Bluebill, Redhead and Canvasback. This isn't a great video, but will give you an idea - ua-cam.com/video/hxukD-bxiT0/v-deo.html
Enjoyed this season watching an hunting. Already hyped for next season. 🤙🏼
Thanks brother! Me too!
Spilling geese is my favorite past time. Enjoyed smashing primers with you Thomas.
Thanks Scott! Looking forward to doing it again soon!
Missouri here. I did fine but our zones changed and no splits this year which resulted in season ending way yo early. By the time the birds were here, duck season was closed. Thanks for all your videos!!!
Thanks for watching them Daniel! Sorry to hear they messed up y'alls dates, hopefully they'll get it rectified before next season
@Hoke Outdoors thanks but unfortunately whenever changes happen, they are set for 5 years. Ugh
Great video Tom had a great first season here in Oregon just moved here and it was a blast best moments from getting my first limit to 4 man limits and getting my mounder pintail at the vary last day of the season lot of birds average hunter got 2 birds a hunt at less
Thanks brother! Glad to hear it was a good season out there! Can't think of a much better way to finish off the season than with a sprig too. You do any fishing out there during the offseason?
@@HokeOutdoors yea I do a little bit lot of trout and salmon out here and there is kings as well
What field of view do you use on your gopro while hunting?
I use linear FOV
From the shotKam once you bump your gun until after it starts recording how long is the video clip usually? Is it usually 3 seconds before you bump it and 6 seconds after you shoot?
If it's in sleep mode then it starts recording as soon you bump the gun and typically records 8-10 seconds after you shoot. If it's already awake then it'll capture about 10 seconds before you shoot
@@HokeOutdoors OK thanks for the info
Cool video Thomas ,thanks. Given your preferred brand is Kent, what is the Speed?
(Have a friend who hunts on the Mississippi River in Iowa...he loves the Kent also)
It was a crazy different season here in SD.BECAUSE of the drought. Season starts on last weekend in September and ran till December 7th. Early season is mostly local ducks that breed here in the prairie pot hole regions. The main migration (depending on winter weather )doesn't start till early November.
Because of the drought most of the small waters and sloughs are iced over.
I no longer do public duck hunting...don't have the energy to complete with all the kids. Now that I've lived here a few seasons I am certain I will have some farm ponds to hunt on private property. (Had one this year but it dried up because of the drought .Most of serious folks hunt the fields. We both know it takes 100s of decoys, a trailer etc etc.
Right now we have very little snow pack and it will take great spring and summer rains to bring an end to this dang drought.
Here's hoping 🙏
Thanks Sly! I like the 1 1/4 oz 1550 fps loads they have, that tends to be the speed I stick to with whatever brand I shoot. I hope this drought will break for y'all soon, it was sad driving around ND in August and seeing all the dried up potholes. What's most concerning in my opinion is that drought conditions are supposed to be even worse in prairie Canada than they are in the Dakotas
Thomas did a 3 day guided hunt with a great lodge back in late October 2014 (you can see his Hired to Hunt videos on UA-cam)
The area was southern Alberta. I've become friends with Claudio and he tell me his area 500,000 areas the overall conditions are about "fair".
His American business was crippled by the closed border.
Overall both ND.and SD.conditions are poor too fair. We can only hope and pray for precipitation.
The Black Cloud I shoot MV is 1450
My season didn`t go good got a few Woodies but it didn`t get cold enough till the tail end of the season. Enjoyed it Thomas
Thanks Chuck! Hopefully the weather will come earlier next year and the birds as well
love the videos. whats your favorite brand and shot size for geese. keep the videos coming. great work.
Thanks Roy! I like Kent 3 inch #1 shot for geese
Really enjoyed the video... interesting to see the hits and the leads... good job Thomas
Thanks Kraig!
Great video 👌👌,
Which choke u used ??
Nice job Thomas! Those wheatfield hunts look like fun...
Thanks Matt! It was quite different from the field hunts here in VA
Hey can you tell me Where you got the camera please and thank you
Man I love seeing those pterodactyls get rocked! Hunting NW and central VT, hunting was good early but real tough after Nov til the end. Not enough cold, my brother in law had a record season so I guess it depends like always. We might be getting a late goose this year so who knows!
I hope they approve it for y'all! Our late season has been disappointing the last couple years but it's always nice to have the chance to chase them a little but longer
@@HokeOutdoors Honestly most years everything has a foot plus of ice and theyre out fishing. Maybe it'll allow us to target some field hunts? Who knows!
Awesome video definitely can see were your shooting with the shot cam. Buddy of mine has one . Definitely amazing footage 👌
Thanks Bob! It's an amazing little camera!
How far would you lead a goose at 30-35 yards? I’ve come back empty handed the last two days because I can’t tell how I’m missing. I use a 12 gauge with 3-4 shot and a full choke.
All depends on how fast it's flying. A good start though would be to switch from a full choke to modified or light modified and try out #1 or #2 shot if you're using steel. If you're using bismuth then #4s will do the trick
@@HokeOutdoors sweet! Thanks for the info, I’m 14, so I’m relatively new to waterfowl hunting. I can bust clays all day, and I got 6 doves in a couple days when they were in season a couple weeks ago, but for some reason, I haven’t been able to scratch a goose off yet. I guess more experience will do the trick also. I appreciate it!
If you don’t mind me asking what choke do you usually use man
I'm using a Carlson's light modified
@@HokeOutdoors ok thanks man
Good shootin! Love the ShotKam vids!
Thanks brother! They're always fun to put together!
What ammo do you use? Brand? Shot size? Shell length?
For steel I'm typically shooting 3 inch #2 shot, Kent is my preferred loads but I'm not very picky. I shoot bismuth too when I get the chance and use BOSS #3/5 or #4s
What shot are you using?
3 inch #2 shot for most of these hunts
The goose season here in Iowa was our best ever. I stopped hunting before the waters froze up because I had already shot as many as I could put in the freezer. The duck hunting was very poor though. The Mississippi flyway isn't what it used to be.
That sounds like what we've seen over here in the Atlantic Flyway the last few years. Glad to hear y'all had plenty of honkers though!
@@HokeOutdoors yeah it wouldn't be worth waterfowl hunting here if it wasn't for the honkers. But that's okay with me. I'd rather shoot 2 or 3 geese than half a dozen ducks anyway lol
Those close up shots were insane I wish I could find a field to hunt geese and get em that close I’m usually shooting 40+ on the fly over water
Thanks man! What state do you hunt?
@@HokeOutdoors in Georgia hmu if you want to do some river kayak hunts
Hey man! what gun do you use?
I shoot a Franchi Affinity 3
@@HokeOutdoors thanks
Can’t wait for more green head and woody videos keep it up man
Thanks man! Gotta chase a few turkeys first but it’ll be back to the duck videos before too long
Fake account give away 😂
Its x3 or x4 zoom ??
3x I believe
Northern Territory, Australia. I hunt magpie geese and ducks. All on the edge of water, not too keen on kayaking, since we have 5 metres. I would love to decoy over a field
Nice shooting!!!!Be well always!!!
Sick shooting Tex.
Thanks!
Beautiful
Didn’t do to good but that’s NC for ya. Going to Missouri to snow goose hunt in march and Canada in November
Sounds like some fun adventures! What part of Canada will you be visiting?
@@HokeOutdoors almeada
Nice shooting !!!
Thanks!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
NC seasons just dropped - September Canada season has bag limit of 15, allowing electronic calls and unplugged guns... you coming?
Hoping to be able to make it down there a couple times in Sept!
@@HokeOutdoors let me know if you need an extra shooter!
I don't remember the one at 1:25 being in a video.
It was a hunt at the end of the season so I'm gonna put out the video this summer
@@HokeOutdoors awesome!!
Take a trip to SW Michigan next year for goose and duck. You won't be dissapointed!
I'm gonna try to make it out there!
@@HokeOutdoors sweet! Lmk if you do. I don't have many spots but the ones I do are really sweet early goose spots.
I hunt in Prince Edward Island, and we got a bunch of ducks and 1 goose
What kind of ducks are most common up there?
Hey, I think someone is scamming through your channel. I recieved a message today saying I was randomly drawn for a prize but I'd need to pay for the shipping by purchasing a gift card and sending it there. You may want to check in on this before its reported to UA-cam
Thanks for letting me know! I'm looking into it now
IDAHO is the best
Agreed!
L got my first duck
Congrats man! What kind of duck was it?
Hello would you invite me to hunt with you I new to hunting
What state are you from?
