My keyboard already has the velocity feature in it so will this Arduino code work for it
Im planning to make a midi controller from an old keyboard I hev but idk how to enable the velocity

Hi, probably could. Personally I prefer keys that have presence and shape. Surface pretty much could be a touch screen of iPad or something :) But as you said it is possible. I've seen FSR + Potentiometer strip combined to do something what you described.

Is it possible to get aftertouch on your midi keyboard if it doesn't have one ? o.o

Incredible! Can you theoretically (and practically) add aftertouch to any synth, say Korg Kronos or Krome?
    Thanks, Bourian

This is super cool. Gonna give this a try as soon as I have time (e.g. in a billion years).

Im wondering if this is factible to do, with a normal 5 octaves keyboard on Venezuela... XD

You mean that is also picking the release/note off velocity?

I left a message on part one asking whether or not you would consider making one of these for a paying client. In one of your videos you said something about wanting a challenge. I have one for you that I think you can handle. Can you take a Casio SA-76, make it velocity sensitive with aftertouch, add a lightweight midi module, replace the speakers with louder speakers, and, finally, trim the edges off the sides so the whole thing is only a hair wider than the keyboard itself so that it fits in an international carry on? That's my dream keyboard. If this doesn't interest you, do you know someone who might be able to use your designs to build it? I would pay for the parts and labor, of course. I live in the Boston area.

Jen I'm relatively a newbie in the field of electronics to do with musical instruments. I'm interested to do a project which involves using an instrument like the djembe to recreate the sound of a snare drum in all aspects. That is even after damping the skin. I find it doable after seeing the exceptional use of fsrs on the toy keyboard you have used... Could you please advise me as to how to go about it ?? And probably which books to read ??

I think honestly, you have 4 good options.
Firstly, the Circle7 Djembe/Cajon hybrid. I own one, and it works great. www.customdjembecajondrum.com/
Secondly, the Remo Mondo Snare www.remo.com/portal/products/521/590/591/ss_mondo_snare.html
      Thirdly, the Schlagwek Cajinto www.schlagwerk.com/products/cajinto-yambu/cajinto/cajinto-skinwood/
Finally, for the electronic version, you might be able to get away with a Roland HPD-20 www.rolandus.com/products/handsonic_hpd-20/
I assume what you are looking for is a hand-drum equivalent that sounds like a snare, but with the playing style and expressiveness of a djembe. If so, I think these are your best choices.

I suppose we could even move away from actual keys and just have a touch surface, would allow insanely fast tapping and stuff, a few things like that but often expensive.

Hi Jen. Could you work up a tutorial implementing pitch bend? I used your code (modified a bit) for the basis of my MIDI project and it does work!

Just change the after touch CC to pitch bend CC?
