Both solo. I totally could relate to your excitement and joy and discovery of such an amazing thing...cruises! I also had a balcony cabin on both cruises and I don't think I could do it any other way. LOVED my balcony cabins. And the food and drinks and music and ocean air and HOT TUBS and super NICE people everywhere. And you being a very likeable genuine lady made your video extra great. Great vlog which bought back a lot of memories. The cruise we went on was so special as it was meant to be an anniversary cruise for friends of ours. Grace had cancer and she suggested a whole group of us join them. The cruise became the last trip for her who passed away. It was everything like you experienced. My brother who has been on about 10 cruises advised us to do our research. I did a lot of research beforehand, even to the point of finding out where all the restaurants and pubs were before we boarded. That way we eliminated all the floors that were just accommodation and didn't spend any time walking up and down looking for places. So glad you enjoyed your cruise. For people who have never been on a cruise I highly recommend it.

It's great that you got to spend quality time with people from my hometown of Chicago. Also, that you had quality time with those who appear to be old enough to be your mother, plus spend quality time with people close to your age. It came across to the viewer as if you had a storybook vacation, something out of a movie.
They were all so lovely - just the kindest people to see me on day one and invite me into their group. They would invite me to dinner and drinks every day, no matter where they were going on the ship they'd make room for me and include me. It was just so lovely :)

Loved seeing your experience on the Norwegian Spirit and love to see you loved it. We have done quite a few cruises on NCL and love the Spirit the best. We actually took the trip from Sydney back to Auckland on March 3, 2024 so just a few weeks after you did.
Hey Phoebe, great to see you enjoying yourself, I also went on a cruise from Florida to the Bahamas- such amazing feeling- being in the middle of nowhere doing all kinds of things, 1 thing I loved when I did my cruise was go on a discovery tour through the ship in places u could never go and my favourite spot was going to the bridge where the captain was. I’ve done a couple of cruises and whilst they seem to have a bit of a reputation for being primarily for retirees, my experience was they attract a whole cross section of friendly, positive passengers across all generations and demographics. I recommend them for a totally relaxing, relatively stress-free holiday - no cooking, cleaning, making beds, no worry about drink driving, relying on Ubers or public transport to get back to your accommodation and you only have to unpack once the whole trip - food, activities and entertainment options covers a vast array of tastes, interests abilities and mood on board and you’re given a choice of interesting off board excursions to suit mobility and interests - lots of scope for personalising your own cruise experience! A cruise is a great way to reset and self-care if you’re feeling the pressures, stress and challenges of life or suffering burnout and a great way to meet people! There are often so many great discounted deals on offer so a cruise isn’t necessarily expensive with all its inclusions compared with other holiday options!
Totally agree! I had thought it would be all retirees but I met so many people from all walks of life - It's what I loved about it most :) I made so many friends of different ages and from different countries! LOVED all the things you shared too about not having to stress and having everything taken care of. SO easy! I'll definitely be cruising again - it was such a welcome break from my usual style of go-go-go travel!
Also I like that there’s no driving - I’ve been on a lot of road trip adventure holidays and whilst I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all you tend to come back feeling like you need a holiday from all the driving and checking in and out of accommodation that can be wearing!

Hey! I’m with a bank that offers zero fees on all tap transactions so I get by just using my card everywhere I go. If I’m going to a country where I know I need cash I’ll take a good amount of cash out once and wear the cost of the withdrawal but it’s rare I need cash. Happy to share the name of the bank with you privately on IG :) doesn’t seem a good idea to advise where I do my banking on the internet for the world to see haha
