Awesome collection! In regards to your Turtles' arms being a different color now, vintage Star Wars figures have an issue like that as well. We call it "frosting." It's a kind of plastic degradation, as the chemicals break down. It's a grey/white sort of color which begins to cover the plastic while it's carded. Sometimes it looks almost like ice crystals on them or flocking, giving the figure a dull, frosted appearance. If you put the figure in the sun for a few minutes or under a very bright light, it usually clears up. It's actually the heat that fixes it, not necessarily the light. Collectors just use light bulbs or the sun because it's easiest and runs the smallest risk of damaging the figure. I don't know if your turtles are having that same issue or not, but it might be worth a shot if the look of the plastic is bothering you.
This was so nostalgic to me...I'm one of the biggest classic TMNT fan. I used to love getting the package and reading the back back to see whats the next figure I can find
I remember walking down the aisles of toys r us back in 1988 and running into teenage mutant ninja turtles for the first time and being blown away by them. my dad bought me Leonardo and my brother got Michelangelo. we collected ninja turtles from them all the way up to 1993. wish I still had all of them I bet there worth a bunch of money now
Na het zien van deze video heb ik spontaan mijn Super Powers collectie te koop gezet en ben nu op zoek naar turtles! 🙈 heerlijke nostalgie! Vroeger zo veel mee gespeeld!
There was a Drug Store a few blocks from my house that sold the original TMNT figures. I used to take my allowance and pick up either a new TMNT figure or X-Men cards. This video definitely brings me back to those memories.
I brought Fugitoid to school when I was in 5th grade and the teacher saw me playing with him and took him until the end of the day! And when I got ChromeDome I actually put him next to my pillow before bed I was in love with that figure and MetalHead.
I never got the pizza thrower as a kid and the pizza tossing turtles were the next best thing. It was awesome to walk into a store and see them. I always loved the pizza tossing mechanic. The thrower for some reason after it was initially released you couldn't find it anywhere. I don't think I would have ended up liking it anyway if I got it back then because it's so noisy.
I picked up the same 1988 carded Donatello with the same weird “powdery fuzzy white” stuff, but mine was on his leg. I thought it may be sun/ heat damage due to the severely yellowed plastic he was in. I got a wicked deal on it and decided to take him out and see if I would be able to somehow clean/ repair the damage. DUDE. It literally just wiped off with my finger! No joke. The figure in completely mint condition! Totally pristine! Yours will no doubt be the same. I LOVE your videos (especially those that include TMNT)! Thanks for all the great content! Keep it up! 😊
I was in 5th grade when it came out, I thought it looked stupid. All the kids on Monday said it was. And the following week, we all learned what a "Wet Willy" was.
Saw it in the theater. Didn’t seem too bad at the time. I remember being so excited when the trailer came out on a Saturday morning during the show (the original 1987 line)
I got the whole set of them for Christmas one year and my friends older brother stole them a couple days later. They lived far so it took me a little bit to get them back. Santa had also brought ninja turtles cereal so my mother cut out the turtles from the box so I could play with them untill I got the real one's back.
Ur Donatello (10 back) is a really early production variant, it has rubber limbs. Some even earlier variants have rubber limbs aswell as a soft rubber head. There were changed in the later 10 back releases quite early on. Making the "soft versions" extremely rare. 🍕🍕🍕🍕
@@unorthdoxcleric6953 it is.... the whitening of the arms or (frosting) as its sometimes called is from the paint deteriorating. There's no such thing as "soft limb variants" With the original 10 backs all there is are the soft head and hard head versions. The rarest of the 10backs are the soft heads with fan club flyer and mutant pop up display. I would say 2nd rarest is 10back soft head with fan club flyer, followed by 10back softhead with pop up display (no flyer)
Love the og carded toys! The original mutatin TMNT toys are my favorite. Very well articulated, authentic look, original colors, fun weapons plus they can Transform!
The storage shell Leonardo that you weren’t sure about it’s timeline is a Canadian card, not sure why they had to be different, they were also not as good. The movie star line had a generic back for all the turtles with the same movie scene while the American cards were all unique.
Ed I am amazed at the TMNT'S you have in the Packaging!!!!" And I love the fact that their opening up their Turtles Packaging!!! That means less of them in the wrong In the packaging!!!? This is awesome! And it's crazy that none of this are on display. I'm struggling so much with what I want/need carded. 10 backs would be great, but I don't wanna pay those prices.
Wow Mutagen Man & Mondo Gecko, I used to have them as a kid. Nice collection man. Giving me some memories, I used to have so many of those figures. I remember my first Ninja Turtles when I was kid was the original Ralph and Leo. When they used to have squishy heads..

I had quite a few of these as a kid. But that Movie Star Foot Soldier REALLY takes me back for some reason. I think it's because I did a lot of cross-play with him with other toys and not just with the Turtles.
I loved that mini mutants baseball set. The sports figures that they released were some of my favorite figures in the toyline especially baseball raph.
Hey Ed , I have only few carded turtles figures from the mutations line and some from the regular line, I just like the way they look in my display cases 👍🏼Awesome collection 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I remember my Universal Monster figures had different colored weapons. Mike was the same purple you have, but I remember my Raph and Leo had orange and Don might've had red.
I had soooooo many TMNT figures as a child...🤗 I'm really excited to see how far Super 7 will take it on the the line their doing which is based off the Playmates Toys line...👌🏼💯✔

Damn you got lots of carded figures! I have a few but most mine are loose. I love the Universal Monsters figures. I can remember about 8 years ago NOT buying all 4 MOC figures on ebay for 40.00. Whoops!
Realy cool Collection. Reminds me on my boxes in the Basement with Transformers and Star Wars - mostly stuff about 2000, wish it would more from the eighties. :) Nice Video, i feel the TMNT Love.
The thing I loved about this show is that Shredder and Krang were conquerors. They were characters who were humanized and relatable to many figures all throughout history. Hi Ed - just catching up on some of your old videos! Great collection of carded TMNT - probably even bigger now, given the age of this vid?! Regarding the yellowed blister shown, this isn't always down to the effects of sunlight - I've had a set of the astronaut figures in storage for nearly 30 years and, interestingly, the blister of only one of them (Mike) is very yellowed with the other three still clear???
Green with envy right now! Awesome figs! One day I’ll make it to some toy shows and hopefully grab the original four carded, for now I have just a couple odds and ends. Thanks for the upload, quality as always!

Its a great collection you have, so many on card. The only issue i have with the Turtles toyline is the figure releases after the first couple of waves just got a little silly with poor sculpts and they started releasing themed character sets which didn't relate to the cartoon in anyway. I guess a lot of people feel that way and thats why the prices of them are generally cheaper then other 80's toylines.
@@EdsRetroGeekOut Interesting, i guess thats probably more due to rarity than appeal of the actual figure design. I loved the cartoon as was part of the Turtlemania craze back in 1990 in the UK but characters like 'Undercover Donny' or 'Birthday party Leo' just have no nostalgia value to me or visual appeal. Where as something like 'ScareGlow' in MOTU was rare and a late release but also very cool looking so appeals to be even though it has no nostalgia value and not part of my childhood.

Oh yeah get that retrobit music 🤘
I’m in America, searching toxic crusaders figures. I seen an ooze. $22 US. Not sure if this is good. Container looked cool on pics. eBay buy
Dude, I hope you reply to this comment! That Leo with storage shell is on something called an "error card" Many were released but you might be the only one alive to have it MISB! THAT is worth A LOT of money! The same thing goes for that Rahzar figure! They are going for MAD MONEY on Ebay and other Merchandise Sellers! Thanks for this awesome video!
I’m pretty sure the error card is just a cheap artwork combination for europe, why is the zahzar expensive?
@@EdsRetroGeekOut it's because it supposed to be in its original movie card. Not that one. You can sell it for BANK
He didn’t come on a movie card 🤣
@@EdsRetroGeekOut the original release figure did. Yours is an error card.
Then there’s only error cards on ebay dude
Your hat is awesome.
That lifeguard Leo might be a figure released in China but I’m not sure
Very cool collection ed 🧔🏿♀️👍🏿
