  • Canon made it a bit tricky to remove printer head, but with a little knowledge it is as simple as it was on previous models. This procedure will apply to all Canon Pixma printers that use Canon 250, 251, 270,271, 280, and 281 ink cartridges. Basically all Canon printers that use 5 or 6 ink cartridges and were produced after 2016.

    Thank you so much!!!!! A number of people give directions on how to take the printer head out, but YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE who explained the barrier that needs to be moved first so I was unsuccessful till I saw your video. The others also did nonsensical things like rinse the toner cartridge and stick it right back in the machine. Thanks again for helping me learn how to remove the printer head correctly!!!!!

    WOW!!! You made it look so easy. In practice, it was even easier. Hadn't used the printer for a few years as I have a black and white laser. Now I needed it and the jets were clogged. Didn't even occur to me the print head could be removed and cleaned. You did this video as if we haven't got a clue how to do this (and I didn't). Took only 2 minutes while watching the video. Thanks for the time it took to do the video.

    Thank you, this video and the other one about cleaning the print head solved my B200 error in my Canon MX925. It was not too difficult to perform. BTW, I did not just soak the print head but cleaned it in an ultrasonic cleaner that I happen to own. For the record, I did not flush the ink channels because I did not have a fitting hose. Took the print head out, cleaned it by soaking in water and rinsing in running water. I took it out because magenta went out for no apparent reason. New magenta cartridge didn't fix it. Now I have no color at all, just black and white. I dried it in front of a heater overnight and replaced the print head in the morning. Very informative, very useful, & very helpful video. Much appreciated. I’m about to check your channel to see if you have more maintenance vids on that exact (MX922) model or similar, including hopefully how to clean the print head. (I may need to rewatch this one, I didn’t hear what solution specifically you planned on soaking printhead in, perhaps I missed it)
    I just bought the MX922 used & while it works, it definitely has some issues, including a clear amount of ink staining in the internals (viewed via same method you display here behind cartridges, but on the white plastic roller components, & the horizontal metal bar that traverses the inside from edge to edge (if I’m not mistaken).
    I’m wondering how far inside I should venture, (& learning how to access/remove the critical component in this video helps tremendously) &/or whether I should attempt to clean those components as well, if so how well, etc.
    Canon doesn’t even seem to offer a true PDF on this model , seemingly only making it available as a .dmg, Or an “installer” for Max (.exe equivalent) as opposed to simple PDF. It further complicates matters that this model is around 5-6 years old now I believe.

      What I did was put it under hot water until it stops leaking any color. It took a good 20 minutes to remove them all and I had to constantly flip the sides and shake it a couple of times in the end. Once it was all gone, I sun-dried it for a couple of hours and reinstalled it. I won't click and will feel loose until the color label thing is pushed inside. Once that's done I turned on the printer, and the B200 error was gone.

    Very good video. I cleaned the print-head in warm water and let it soak in a bowl. I still got the error. I replaced all the ink cartilages with new ones and tried the hack several times. Still the error.
    I again cleaned the print-head in warm water and concentrated on the round pads that the ink goes into from the cartridge turning the cartridge upside down some. I did a better job this time and kept soaking it in a bowl and cleaning it until no more ink showed up. I put back the ink cartridge that were removed about 15 hours ago and still got the error.
    Is this print-head hopeless and needs replacing or do you think there's something else going on. I've had this printer for about 5 years and never had this B200 error before. I have used it a lot about 5-10 pages a day. Thanks for your excellent help already with this video

      You're welcome. I'm sorry you weren't able to fix the issue. Yes, the printhead at this point usually needs to be replaced. Actually, in most cases, when the B200 error pops up, the printhead may need to be replaced.

      @@303electronics Thanks so much for your insight on this. I thought I must be doing something wrong, so I did it 2x. But I now feel good about the printhead I ordered from Amazon for $29 and free shipping. I'll get it tomorrow. I hope this post helps others in a similar situation

    Thank you. Figured it would help. But now all the colors do not print now, just the pigment black. It's a brand new reputable printhead replacement. Seems the CMY and dye black purge lines are clogged now? Any ideas? Thanks!
    Cleaned the squeegees and the encoder strip too.

      Hi. Do you have enough ink in the cartridges?

    • @timd9430
      @timd9430 2 роки тому

      @@303electronics yes. Have tried different ones and also swapped heads with different printers. Seems the printer itself may now be the issue as the heads work on other printers. Something in the printer is not letting the CMY dye black not work now... just the pigment blacK only.

      Hi. I use LA's Totally awesome cleaner for soaking printhead. It is sold in dollar stores in USA. I mix half hot water, half cleaner. Also, windex and ammonia work. 1/3hot water/1/3 ammonia/1/3 windex.

    To move the printhead holder to the remove position just hold the STOP button for 5 sec or so!

      I see only Wifi, Power, Home and Return.
      I assume you must do it _before_ pulling the power cord

    b200 error can be solved replacing the printhead?

    The printer is now "printing" pages without ink, i.e., blank pages, and the error message says the toner cartridge needs to be replaced. I can't find anything online about replacing "toner" cartridges, only ink cartridges. Any thoughts?

    • @303electronics
      @303electronics  3 роки тому

      Hi. If you have a Canon mx922 series printer, they have ink, not toner. Does it tell you on the computer screen or on the printer screen about the toner?

    • @brucezwecker8750
      @brucezwecker8750 3 роки тому

      @@303electronics Yes, the message on the Microsoft surface laptop was that the toner cartridge needed to be replaced. This was puzzling, because the printer is probably 5 years old, and I've replaced ink cartridges multiple times, but had never heard anything about a toner cartridge.
      I tried doing maintenance/cleaning through the menu yesterday, but there's still no ink being released. I also replaced a couple ink cartridges that were flashing red, and all the cartridges now have solid red lights.
