Crazy medusa! Hey your video was great. I am a chemical Engineering grad student! I am planning to apply to cornell and some other univ. in coming year. I wanted to know that how much research experience should one can have to be on the safe side to apply for a direct phd right after the undergrad. I am at the end of my second year and had presented two research paper at the national conference's till date!
I want to know about how did you find the opportunities? Like the projects you did back in highschool are really amazing and as a 11th grader I'm really lacking opportunities to do something that might show up as an achievement and it's getting harder during the pandemic

Know that you have a lot of time left still..Try doing voluntary work or tutoring or even art or blog..ig anything will do as long a you have an interest in it
Don't do extracurricular for the sake of colleges..do it because you want to
@@nandithadev4889I have a question for volunteering... Does the volunteering activity have to be related to your major? Bcs I'm planning on majoring in commercial dance and I don't think there's any volunteer opportunities for that, especially in Indonesia where dance isn't a big thing.

Crazy Medusa!! Master's in Healthcare Administration (MHA) is not a known degree, yet an expensive one. Is it worth it to pursue? Or getting a license in the specialization is more worthwhile?
You're the first one! I was scrolling through the comments to see who'd catch the last part ;) MHA is a tricky degree- since it doesn't fall in the STEM list of courses, the first thing is you'd have to find a company to sponsor you quickly! With that said there is a growing need of healthcare management in USA, so that makes the degree worth it. A good alternative would be doing a MBA with a focus on healthcare, that way you'd have a variety of job opportunities once you graduate. But it all comes down to whether you want to pursue a career with technical expertise or in business management. Good luck!

How hard it will be for me to get selected in the top university as I have not done any projects as of now but I am working hard now. I have realized it very late and also some advice for me Dos and Don'ts. I am planning to go to Canada (UOT, UBC, etc)
You are the third one! :) If you gain some kind of research experience in your technical field, it will make a big impact on your application. Canada is a great to apply right now, but in order to stand out, I would definitely recommend doing a project. Try to approach your professors in the current university and share with them some ideas. Take the help of online learning modules such as Coursera, edX. Do not use these to just gain a certificate, try to apply them in any of your current courses. Good Luck!

Its amazing if you publish research papers, if they are extremely good they will get recognized nationally or internationally ,which will make an amazing impact on your application, if u do projects because its masters (internships)from top companies like IBM, and online courses for AI and diff comp fields from top universities then ur application will have a great weightage

Yes I notice you! :) you are the fourth person to notice the message in video! I have seen a lot of questions about financial aid and scholarships. There are a lot of ways to support yourself before admission and then on-campus. Of course Loans are readily available, but first do some research about the program you are interested in. Things like CO-OP for undergraduate and RA/TA for Masters can really help you cut down the expenses. Keep an eye out on my channel, I might just make a video on this topic! Good Luck!

There is a culture at my college. The prof. just won't write Lor's for the students. They ask them to bring a template or essay. They will sign it and that's that. Now, it's my turn to go through this. I consider this a form of deception, and I'm super uncomfortable with that. Trying to see how I can tackle this problem. U know of any solutions?
Btw, do uni profs.s read youtube comments made by applicants? 😬
I can relate to this, I have been through the same trouble! as much as I would like it to change, some professors don't want to put in the work! Try to find professors who have worked with you on some projects, that way it might be less uncomfortable! and for the second question, no I hope not :D
@@CrazyMedusa One doesn't just comment a personal problems in yt comments unless he has exhausted his options.
Before I had thought it was a few profs who didn't want to write the LORs. I thought they might not have found me good enough, n I went to ask someone else. Turns out it's not a few profs being that way. It is a CULTURE at my cllg to do this. I dared to mention to one of them that it feels deceitful only to hear that this is how it happens everywhere (which is not untrue in India).
So, I have tried to find profs who would be willing to write it themselves but found none (although haven't exhausted every single one teaching at my cllg). And, now, it just seems like a culture here.
I'm done with my rant😅, and probably even you have nothing to say that would be of help to me (unless u do, which would be awesome), which I understand...
