When the Moon Hatched felt like someone tried to make a book by an ingredient recipe, but didn't cook it quite right. Assassin, tick. King everyone thinks is evil for unclear reasons but is secretly good, tick. Secret past slowly revealed by a converging narrative device, tick. Extremely spicy scenes, even if they didn't really make narrative sense, tick. Cool mythical creatures that are mistreated by bad people, tick. So many things mixed in but needed a story editor with a good red pen.

I was back and forth in 6 different schools in San Francisco and Chicago. Then I stayed in Chicago for high school and college lol with my mom. I didn't like California much.

Why almost all the romantasy books look like the covers were made by the same person? It makes me NOT want to read any of them 😢
