I have a question, how many pages is your icewvoles copy? I have an English copy that was printed in the United states (its a paperback), and it looks super thin compared to yours! Infact, all of my elementals books look thin compared to yours .. my elementals icewolves book is 333 pages (with about 20 pages extra for a scorch dragons preview). But I just want to make sure im not missing pages or something!! Just find it interesting how my copies look so small compared to yours. (Also, nice video!! I love these books a ton, I read battle born in 2 days after it came out!! So good!! )

I feel like I keep bracing myself for news that you've DNF'd a book before breathing a sigh of relief when it turns out your progress just stalled. 😂 Funnily enough, I've just got back into manga too! My Shonen Jump subscription went unused for about three years, so I'm catching up on where I left off with One Punch Man and My Hero Academia. The Frieren anime is on my to-watch list!

If I were reading those Sanderson books I would want them to count for three books each. I feel that should be the rule.

Thalia is also grocers backstory , he was there. Annabeth told us about her parents though. Percy seeing the fates makes no sense , not only does he not know Percy even at the end Luke’s death is between her and Luke , Percy is just on the side . It was definitely bad decision I the book .

I did not emjoy powerless and wish I had dnfd it. I had also put down nettle and bone! And I did not get the hype for t kingfisher UNTIL I read a sorceress comes to call. Then I moved to a house with good bones. Slowly making my way through her work now. I really enjoy her sense of humor.

I’m reading Powerless right now. I’m almost halfway through. I really liked most of the first half, but the banter is really starting to annoy me because it’s too much! It’s literally in the whole book. I didn’t mind it in the beginning, but now I’m getting tired of it. It’s just so immature and childish. I’m not sure if I should keep reading it. I love the world and the characters are decent.

I DNF’d Powerless. I really liked the world, but the banter was too much and too long. I like Red Queen, that is why I initinially started this. But the romance part wasn’t for me

It's good to see you DNF a book even if it's gifted. Forcing yourself to read a book immediately saps away any and all enjoyment for it. I've seen Powerless in quite a few shops and was curious. Thankfully I've noticed that if you don't like characters/prose, then there's a good chance that I simply won't either. I'm really happy to find a booktuber that matches my tastes quite well. And - as if to prove me right - What Moves the Dead was very... mid for me. I finished it. I had no thoughts about it overall. Very average. I've tried three different books from the same author (two this month for Halloween reads) and DNF'ed them all. The author is not for me. I read Mistborn Saga (1 and 2) and have thought about starting the Stormlight Archive. I really want to find a new series I can sink my teeth into. But the sheer volume of it is intimidating.

I have a entire TBR bookcase as well as some I have wrapped and hidden away to fill in the gaps once I read some but I really want to make it a goal of 2025 to have a curated library with my favorite books but also a TBR list that is filled with books that I know I'm interested in but is a manageable number, I would love for it to fit on a single TBR cart at the end of the 2025!

This sounds like an interesting challenge - I have plenty of books I want to read and I'm gradually cutting down on them. It will be fun to see how much I can read in 24 hours :) I might make this my next challenge (right after horror themed October is over with). I'm curious about the Tainted Cup. I've seen it receive a lot of praise. Trouble is whenever I pick up a book with high regard, it almost never reaches my expectations :(

I’m a student. I do not often have time to read as much as I would like to (I’m in my last year so I’m hoping this will soon change). I read both Atlas books as soon as they came out, but I had other things going on and the Complex was put on the back burner. Thank you so much for your deep summary and thoughts on these two books. I've read This Delicious Death, The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, and In an Absent Dream. I only liked This Delicious Death (3 stars), and the rest were 1 star! lol. I need to read the others.

Hey Becklebooks, I have a question: What are the parts called in this book that are supposed to be from the scribs? the italicized scenes. I've been looking for a name for these but cannot find anything on them. I know not many authors use this, but the few times I've seen them, I've always looked forward to reading them. Thanks!

Id recommend white tears/brown scars by Ruby Hamad. It can be a harder read just because it does challenge the white womens biases, but it is important read. Also found the way the author wrote it to be accessible and easy to digest.

This is reminding me of my own terribly overenthusiastic Libby audiobook borrowing behaviour. 😂 No idea when I'm going to get through them all, but thankfully I'm deep into queues for many of my holds so they aren't all coming at once! Just a few of them are... 👀

My year has been shockingly low on fantasy reads so far - despite it being my favourite genre - so I must correct that soon! 😂 Currently reading Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin for my book club. I'm only 100 pages in, but it's shaping up to be a brilliant tale of friendship, the consequences of fame, and the video game industry.

I feel like you waited forever for those new releases (even though you didn't really) and then you read them both in like, 3 days, which tracks tbh. 😆

I'm currently listening to The Expectant Detectives #1, since I won the 2nd one in the series on Goodreads!! It's funny. I also started We Shall Be Monsters but I'm not liking it yet lol. I'm almost done with this graphic novel: Witches of Brooklyn: Spell of a Time #4! Love these. I recently finished Bless Your Heart by Lindy Ryan and Bride by Ali Hazelwood *(both 5 stars). Loved these two vampire novels! Indian Burial Ground and Apprentice to the Villain I gave 3 stars to recently. Then I tried another graphic novel that was cute: Summer Vamp. Another two books I gave 5 stars to: Mother-daughter Murder Night and Love & Curse Making (Magical Dating Agency #1). 🤓

I hate pumpkin spice, too, and pumpkin pie lol. Anything pumpkin, even the sprays. Me and my boyfriend just went to Barnes and Noble yesterday on my birthday and I tried a Pecan Crunch Latte with oatmilk. That was good! lol and their Turkey Sofrito sandwich cheese melt, too, is so good!

Can't believe I was going to read Five Broken Blades, told you about it, returned it to the library unread, and you read it instead and actually liked it. It's like you read it on my behalf and my TBR thanks you for your sacrifice. 'Watch TV' huh???? What a great idea. 👀👀👀👀👀

I don't know how close your library is, but I found it easier to reach my goal of daily walks by finding a destination I wanted to go to and it helped me actually go to that destination regularly rather than on a rare occasion. I also should add more actual reading to my habbits, I'm almost always doing audio books now because it's just so easy to add in to a commute or anything else your doing. Although it has meant that I'm now able to complete a Stormlight or Malazan book in just over a week by using only the audio book so maybe the trade off was worth it lol.

I felt the exact same way about N.K. Jemisin! Loved the Broken Earth series. Couldn't wait for The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms to be over. Then decided that I would try out The City We Became since it came AFTER the Broken Earth series. And it was even more of a slog for me. Just couldn't stand the writing or the story. Also, I came from the other direction with James Islington. Read The Will of the Many and I was like, "Yes, please! Love it!!" So I went straight to The Licanius Trilogy and...it just did not do it for me. Ended up reading all three books in the series but in starts and stops and by midway through the third book I was so bored and didn't care for the story at all. Just wanted it to be over.
