Yes! He was relaxed and funny again. He's seemed a bit embittered recently. I almost expected Karl and Steve to walk in and it was like they'd never been apart.
I'm so glad I found this interview. I was actually kind of annoyed that his previous interviews all followed the same lines and he would repeat so many things. This renewed my faith in him :D
he's one of the few famous comedians who is critical of trump, but isn't insufferable in how he goes about it. He also doesn't obsess about trump like 90% of popular comedians now. He's about comedy first, and his politics are secondary. Too many people are the opposite these days. I love Ricky.
Yeah well Trump supporters have no sense of humour about it and the people who don't support him are mostly sick of hearing about him by now. That said, The guy is a character and he's not well loved, especially not outside the US. People have been making fun of him long before he was president and they'll be making fun of him for decades, just like all the other presidents who weren't popular.
@@jimjambananaslam3596 i feel its just to easy anytime i hear anything involving Trump from a comic i skip ,especially these late night pretend comedy hosts , it isnt comedy its political agenda . It's become beyond boring , u are not funny so lets talk about Trump so i can get a laugh and some views
I don't want this to degenerate into pointless insults but I think the problem with Trump is, he's such an obviously bad guy. Because of this, it's easy/lazy for a lot of people to say that if someone supports Trump, then they are obviously bad guys as well. When this is coupled with cheap web based clickbait articles ("Twitter is outraged!") it distorts reality of how most people think or feel. Personally, I hate Trump, I think he's a cancer on the world, but if you support him I will respect that, I don't know what life you have lived that has brought you to that place. I would just ask you to keep an open mind, that maybe Trump doesn't have your best interests at heart.
Jim has never had chemistry of any kind. As Patrice O'Neal said Jim is a gelatinous blob that will fit into whatever mold you pour him in. So yeah he ballwashes Ricky well and a narcissist like Ricky loves it.
Bowie came into my video a lot around the time of Tin Machine. Super friendly, personable guy who would chit chat with anyone who wasn't scared of him. Knew everyone at the store by name and would greet you by name when he saw you. He once asked me if there were any new movies I could recommend. I pointed at a new release called The Linguini Incident, which he starred in, and said, "I can't recommend that one." He laughed when he saw what I was pointing at and said, "What was I thinking with that one, Mike?" Such a funny guy!
Absolute mad man. Love this guy. So thoughtful and considerate but with zero care of how he is received. He could make twice as much playing the game but refuses to do so. Much love to you ricky. Don't ever change you legend.
I’ve often struggled with Ricky Gervais, I’m not really sure why. But this was a lovely, charming interview, he’s obviously at ease and just being himself. Thanks Jim, Sam and Ricky that was a delight to watch.
Watch after life, and you will no longer struggle. Unless you’re American, that might explain it. They’re quite slow and not the wittiest bunch, and will take any sarcasm seriously, or barring that they will spend a few minutes looking at you with a puzzled face until they realise.
I've met Bowie 3 times in my life, and Ricky doesn't realize is Bowie was that charming with everyone in every walk of life... and never forgot anyone's name. If you met him once, you felt you've made a friend for life.
To be honest, im sure Ricky has a more intimate knowledge of Bowie's personality than someone who's met him 3 times and most likely fleetingly. With over 40 years in entertainment Bowie must of met tens of thousands of people. So unless he's Rainman only remember 10% of them.
yeah i'm sure you knew all kinds of secrets about Bowie, having met him 3 times, that Ricky had no idea about, having been to his house and talked to him regularly for years.
Best day ever. Listening to your new material. Have a laugh. laughter is the best healer & in all my 100yrs of living. I couldn't be bothered with anyone's humour other than yours. Keep up the good work it's better than a shit day. I introduced you to someone yesterday. In fact the entire world should hear you. In SA we call it kak funny AKA shit funny. Laughed & laughed. That is all that counts. Thank you Mr. Nonsense. Love to you Jane & her friends.
yea they really seem to enjoy hanging out together, the comedy and laughs just seem so natural and flowing. Great to watch and listen to. Oh and Jims viral videos are hilarious , I laughed like hell to no 19
I saw Roy Chubby Brown live in the 80's. Not through choice I should add, he was on the bill. He really was like that, regarding "foreigners" and would always squeeze in as many swear words as possible into every sentence. He built up an army of brexit / trump type followers that loved him.
Alien OrSutin i used to watch him as a kid and think he was good because he swore lol n they shouted you fat bastard at the beginning but now i watch him it's like wow. he has a few funny bits but overall not great.and has a racist view on things, got worst with time also. lol i dont agree with all his supporters being brexit voters n trump fans though
Vanity is a huge thing for a lot of women unfortunately. But from a biological point of view it's also a huge metric for women. A women who used to turn heads in her 20's may be devastated in her 50's especially if she is still single or single again due to a break up.
Ricki's character "derick" in the nursing home ;is brilliant, touching ...: a beautification in Ricki's repetoirs : such a generous perceptive ,quality entertainer : giver !!!
its very interesting what he says about people's opinions and social media, you can feel it constantly on YT in the comments section, where people simply dont care about facts, only about passing their opinion as the truth. In fact social media has been fantastic for intolerance, its at an all time high. thats why liberals are libtards and trump supports are trumpanzees, and I blame it all on the ego. Social media has put an amplifier to thousand of damaged egos who want to be bigger, want to be respected and heard, so they embark in these infantile crusades attacking anyone who disagrees with them with utter fury

The idea that comedians are getting self conscious about people not getting their irony, satire, and sardonic mirth is petrifying. Satire and irony are so damn important and for anyone that actually has an open mind it can be extremely funny.
Well, they fell out. But no one quite knows why....I notice RG never mentions SM or Karl (I think the Karl situation was to do with filming commitments to Derek). BUt there 3 of them, or indeed any 2 of them, have not been seen together for about 3 years!
I think thats 100% made up. He doesn't talk about karl because hes living his own life (both karl and ricky). You gotta remember karl isn't his die hard best friend in the universe he'll die with and in rickys will. Im guessing thats rickys wife not the random radio producer they had at xfm.
good point about people missing the irony (satire) of a joke and agreeing with it. same thing used to happen with "all in the family" and archie bunker, i knew people who liked archie bunker because they agreed with his racist and ignorant comments, the satire of the dialogue when right over their head.
This is the best interview with Ricky I have seen for years. And I've probably seen them all!
gullivera agreed. This was like remembering why I love the man
5 minutes in, oh wow what were you doing in london?!? ..i live there. Yeah great interview.

I wish he'd do more long interviews. It makes me remember why I love this guy. Legend.
Ricky is a real talent. Loads of people can act. Some can do stand up. Some people can create entertainment. Ricky does it all.

I don't think it's so much that they're obsessed as they have wider reach.
51:32-54:33 David Brent turns up , guitar in hand and sings ‘Slough’ live on the show ! What a guy 🎤🎸🤩🤩
Ricky and Jim have wicked chemistry. Sam is really coming into his own too. Loved this clip
I agree

That Bowie story in the end, is absolutely priceless. Amazing!

This my first time visiting the youtube channel. For a second I thought I was watching the Jim and Art Garfunkel show. I love the show.

Ricky has warmed to Sam so much more over time, originally Jim was his focal point but that's totally changed now.
Great interview
he's actually quite decent at singing
he used to be in a band
was a pop singer in his 20s and almost made top 10 in british charts with his songs. one of his songs ended up being super popular in the Philippines
Decent Voice. His music is shit though
He was a pop star after all.
