    Looking at other sources of looks like the Weeks has now been moved to the starboard side of the bow, and the barges, etc on the port side have withdrawn a little. That may mean they finished all the preparation yesterday, just not early enough for the tide.

    A Demo is what you do when you are Demonstrating something. A Demolition is what you do when you are implementing "the action or process of demolishing or being demolished" (Wikipedia). There is no accepted version of shortening the word Demolition.

    • @SteamCrane
      @SteamCrane 5 місяців тому

      People that do it often call it demo. Including during house remodels.

    • @chrissybabe8568
      @chrissybabe8568 5 місяців тому

      @@SteamCrane That's ridiculous. If you are remodeling a house you certainly aren't performing a demolition first. That is called a rebuild. As for doing something (I am presuming here that you are referring to demolitions ?) often it might be a trade term almost certainly ONLY used by demolition crews. If this video was only made by and posted for a demolition crew or expert then you might get away with it but since it is posted on youtube it is visible to everybody. Or was this created only for American audiences - something that gets forgotten by a lot of posters here who seem unaware that the audience is worldwide NOT just the locals.

    • @SteamCrane
      @SteamCrane 5 місяців тому

      @@chrissybabe8568 You've never done a full remodel? First step is to demo the old drywall so you can get at the plumbing and wiring. Been there, done that. Have photos of me holding the sledgehammer. In our case, also pull up the old non-waterproof flooring. If you watch any of the stupid TV remodel shows, that's the term.

    • @chrissybabe8568
      @chrissybabe8568 5 місяців тому

      @@SteamCrane A problem of semantics. My understanding of the word demolition is "the act of totally destroying it". The meaning of the word "demo" is a demonstration of something. I could be wrong but you might be American ? Who have a habit of using words the wrong way and sometimes giving them their own meaning. Note that your audience is NOT just the USA but worldwide.

    • @SteamCrane
      @SteamCrane 5 місяців тому

      @@chrissybabe8568 We totally demoed the walls of 3 rooms, left the others untouched. And we have freeways and tollways, not dual carriageways. US English uses fewer syllables than British English, that's why we get stuff done!
