The dream ending is obviously this game's creepy bad ending. When Syrup invades, Wario subconsciously mimics the actions from his dream, causing him to yet again enter the haunted house, where he again discovers he was in a dream upon reaching the end of the haunted house. And thus Wario enters an endless cycle of waking up from the same dream, never able to reclaim his treasure, never able to truly wake up.
Yeah, what if Wario is waiting for them to come and he then kicks their ass when they come in, because now he knows that they are coming. That means they never managed to steal Wario's treasure.
LightningDude999 I don't think so. Syrup managed to steal his treasure because he was asleep when she arrived, but in the dream route he wakes up by himself before she arrives thanks to that nightmare / premonitory dream
Wario has always been one of my favorite Nintendo characters. You want the world and the princess saved, you call Mario. You want some asses kicked, and you don't care the cost? Wario's got you covered. Just make sure you pay the man, or at least tell him there's some treasure involved, but don't lie to him about it, or he will find you. He's a mercenary. I can only imagine if we had a Mario styled adventure that involved Bowser. There was one time Wario got a princess, but he just doesn't seem too interested in that. There was also that other princess that had the cat curse, but he didn't get to keep that one, unfortunately.
HOLY COW your TOTALLY ME! Only difference is Wario is my FAVORITE CHARACTER OF ALL TIME!!! Doesn’t give a crap what you think, he will get is hands on all the dough he can find! Even if it means shoulder bashing you to the MOON!🌕 Yeah, totally don’t regret my decision.
I never really mind bad endings that are less than prominent in a video: it's entertainment enough to hear our favorite text-based narrator discuss the whole plot and mechanics of the game, like going on an educational adventure! And also, would you consider this more of an episode of Lovely Good Endings, or do they still retain the unsettling "premature end" factor that makes it a bad ending episode?
That's what I love about whois, he loves going in-depth about the plot and mechanics of a game, although it never feels over-the-topwhois, keep up the good work, man
Who else found the alternative route in the beginning of the level by mistake, I did by leaving the game on to do something else. When I go back to play the game, I noticed I cleared the stage. I was like, "What the heck?". Certainly a clever way to hide a alternative exit.
Flutterbaws 95 Shadow the Hedgehog... well, while it may have had alot of endings, it was pretty tedious to go through EVERY stage again and again, so youre definately right. oh and trust me, ive played through all of the endings in Shadow the Hedgehhog.
Alternate endings are freaking wonderful, i especially like when games are programmed to allow being clever and breaking the usual flow (Or in certain cases, using new game plus to view things that are technically impossible on the first run).
DarkOrderSolDjango Not really true. Care to list some examples? The first game that comes to my mind is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and even then it was more of an expansion on the bad ending then anything
'Wahahaha! Excellent!' Not sure how a game where you apparently can't die can be considered 'challenging' at any point, but it was interesting to see just how many different ways there are to make Team Black Sugar go Blasting Off Again in this game. I sometimes hear people talk about wanting to see a Wario version of Peach, or 'Nega-Peach', but Captain Syrup may be exactly that. I know it's cliched as a dream sequence at this point, but Git deserves a lot more views and likes.
"I'm so sick of fighting against you and losing. So sick of being on the losing team. Please hire me! You know how tough I am! Out of all the enemies you fought, I take by far the most hits to defeat!"
"Creepy Bad Endings" _(discusses pretty much the whole game)_ And that's why we love whoisthisgit. Thank you, buddy, for making this video. Me from several years ago loved it and me from today loves it just as much.
What amazes me is that all that content manages to fit on such a small cartridge, and with such small processing power. This was gbc era stuff, yeah? Looks like a gba game. And that surrounding screen on the whatyoucallit would be near impossible.
"I know, it might sound crazy to say that about a Game Boy game, but I swear it's true. It actually feels spooky at points" It's not crazy to say. Take Pokemon (Gen 1) for example. Lavender town might be the town of my nightmares and it's in the Game Boy.
See, i always thought the Giant Spearman just followed Wario home and lived in his castle. He took Syrup's loot and made a friend in the process. Also, pretty sure that basketball boss is a rabbit, not a sheep.
19:44 Man, Wario looks like a swell and cool bro to hang out with...as long as you don't mess with his money. 27:33 Wario Land 2 has ending where everything was a dream. Super Mario Bros 2 happened in a dream. But Super Mario Bros 2 is actually the third Super Mario Bros (the second is The Lost Levels). So, Half-Life 3 confirmed (?). 33:42 What about Wario Land Shake It! Or you don't consider it a Wario Land game?
Hey why dont you try EVO. Search of eden? Its a game which is going to give you a lot of material: Creppy bad endings, Creppy moments, Worst levels ever, Boss Analysis, Strongest characters ever etc...
27:40 Well, I can make a Creepy Bad Ending out of this for you. What if Wario didn't realize it was a premonition of the future and went back to sleep, except this time everything that happened in the dream happened in the real world? With that last scene of Wario falling down a trap door, there would very likely be some deadly trap at the bottom, which means that would've been the end of Wario for good!
I liked all the classic Wario Land games, but his one, I have to admit, can be quite frustrating. Some of the hidden exits are just outright unfair. It often ends with "Throw enemy against random wall!" But, then agian, that's how game used to be. It's one of the few aspects of old-school gaming that I do not miss.
I found the first level secret exit as a kid because I was so amused by the sleeping Wario sprite. Wario Land 2 was one of my first games and is one of my all-time favorite games ever, so just seeing this character that I liked sleeping was funny to me. When you've played a game to death, but still want more, you start to focus on the small details.
Quadrilogy? In terms of Wario platforming games there is also Virutal Boy Wario Land (the only one of the 8 not be released in Europe), Wario World, Wario: Master of Disguise and Wario Land: Shake It!. So wouldn't it be 8 Wario platforming games and thus an Octrilogy? But yeah if you don't count those 4 games then it would be a quadrilogy.
To cure everyone's curiosity, for the Wario not waking up secret path, in the first level of the game, you can't actually do it in the first playthrough. It seems the developers didn't want us to skip the "tutorial level" for the first time through. It was actually the first secret path I found (I think I just looked away for a few seconds and in that time I passed the level).

I have something that I think you should know about the alternate path in the first level. It can be accessed when you first play the game, I've tested it myself and it worked for me, however, instead of waiting in bed for about 5 seconds like you showed in the video, at the start of the game, you have to wait for about 30 SECONDS! It's after you discover your first ending and when you discover that there are alternate paths in the game that the waiting time is dropped from 30 seconds to 5 seconds. I'm sure that the 30 second waiting time is put there to prevent new players from discovering the alternate path too soon. I think it's interesting on how that path is reached and when you can reach it.
17:05 welcome with us again...Atari! ahahah however good video and good game series, finally a different uses of deaths! Usually game developers use death for punish the player instead to use as a key for doing the levels! very clever!

There really just is something quite magical about Git's narration isn't there.

16phillip10 I haven't played this one, but it sure has really clever secrets and endings. I really got to try this game out someday.
Same happens in far cry 4
This game's multiple ending system beats the hell out of Starfox Command and Shadow the Hedgehog's by a quarter mile. Wp, Wario Land II.
Flutterbaws 95 f-u-c-k-i-n-g RIGHT
Flutterbaws 95
Shadow the Hedgehog... well, while it may have had alot of endings, it was pretty tedious to go through EVERY stage again and again, so youre definately right.
oh and trust me, ive played through all of the endings in Shadow the Hedgehhog.
Same here (I may have missed a few). Shadow the hedgehog was oddly addictive for me.
The binding of Issac:AM I A JOKE TO YOU?
Gir shadow tried to emulate the ending system of Star fox but forgot to make the game fun in the process
I think warios true enemy was the water bill
Jonathan Wuensche yep
*Invades the tax officer's and takes his/her money*
Wario shoulder dashes through the police and makes his escape
New route: escape from the water bill
The really actual final chapter
Alternate endings are freaking wonderful, i especially like when games are programmed to allow being clever and breaking the usual flow (Or in certain cases, using new game plus to view things that are technically impossible on the first run).
Today, all these alternate paths and endings would be paid DLC...
depends on who made it. if nintendo made it today, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just like this.
Well since it's Nintendo they'd probably have the extra paths already then add DLC for even more paths on top of that.
true!!
Actually not true. Nintendo doesn't care about Wario Land anymore, so this game would be Wario Ware 57 instead
DarkOrderSolDjango Not really true. Care to list some examples? The first game that comes to my mind is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and even then it was more of an expansion on the bad ending then anything
'Wahahaha! Excellent!'

I made a Nega peach who was a princess of goombas
Well, Syrup does become a good guy in warioland: shake dimension, so you could consider her peach if another warioland ever comes out.
Maybe the giant spearman wanted to join Wario at the end?
"I'm so sick of fighting against you and losing. So sick of being on the losing team. Please hire me! You know how tough I am! Out of all the enemies you fought, I take by far the most hits to defeat!"
Wario got robbed by the Wet-Bandits!
Son of Tiamat metaphorically high five me bro!
so this was the prequel den.....I see,we'll I'm splatting them in water when they are in jail! lol
0:40 why is sonic's drowning theme in wario land?
I posted a comment like yours before I saw yours.
I love how Syrup ended up getting bubbled while trying to flee from Wario.
Little does Wario know that the true treasure is inside him all this time.
It's Immortality.
And the power of
Wah
Princess Luna
Wario: You mean Farts?
Sorry,that isn't a Treasure,that's a Talent.
What, did he eat it?
jk
All he has to do is reach inside of himself.
Guys, Princess Luna was talking about garlic. The true treasure is garlic.
Wait that mansion looks familiar...
Oh god no
Don't tell me
Luigi's mansion started WAY EARLY??!
32:58 I bet what happens is the Spearman actually works for Wario at the end, because he realizes how much stronger Wario is.
"Creepy Bad Endings"
_(discusses pretty much the whole game)_
And that's why we love whoisthisgit. Thank you, buddy, for making this video. Me from several years ago loved it and me from today loves it just as much.
30:02
I'm going to assume the canonical ending was the main one where Wario just goes to Syrup Castle.
so basically everything ends with Syrup Getting Fucked
Save Zawarudo Yup, it just happens in different locations.
That’s hot
@@paladin_2164 🤨📸
Wario: "I've killed you 17 different times!"
Giant Spearman: "I feel like it's gonna be at least 18."

Original GameBoy, later updated/upgraded to be compatible with the GameBoy Color.
It’s amazing we need a port to the switch with even more endings!
i love how even in the endings where wario "rescues" syrup, it's just to kick the crap out of her and take his treasure back
"I know, it might sound crazy to say that about a Game Boy game, but I swear it's true. It actually feels spooky at points"
It's not crazy to say. Take Pokemon (Gen 1) for example. Lavender town might be the town of my nightmares and it's in the Game Boy.
And Pokemon was one of the first gameboy games
@@thevoiditsings Maybe one of the first GameBoy Color games. The GameBoy as a while had its first release in 1989.
There’s just something spooky about gameboy and 8 bit graphics in general
See, i always thought the Giant Spearman just followed Wario home and lived in his castle. He took Syrup's loot and made a friend in the process.
Also, pretty sure that basketball boss is a rabbit, not a sheep.
3:50
For being such a -THICC- large man, Wario is light-weight on beer
Wario World and Wario Land: Shake It are looking at you right now!
Finally, Wario Land 2, I don't think a lot of people really talk about this game over Wario Land 3 or 4, which is a bit disappointing
*game over* XD
0:38 So a shit stained with nice smelling flowers?
Man, I HATE dream endings SO MUCH! You're stuck on a cliffhanger, wondering what happens next, but nope, it's a dream!
I think he meant the original 4 for the gameboys
Real Talk: Ending the game early would be an amazing Speedrunning strat.
Thanks for the vid, Wario Land 2 is by far my most favorite gb game out there ^^ playing basketball with the bunny was way too enjoyable
27:07 falling into the Underground be like
"Hey Wario I know you're feeling pretty angry right now but- Karma's a bitch and her name is Syrup"

Hey why dont you try EVO. Search of eden? Its a game which is going to give you a lot of material: Creppy bad endings, Creppy moments, Worst levels ever, Boss Analysis, Strongest characters ever etc...

With that last scene of Wario falling down a trap door, there would very likely be some deadly trap at the bottom, which means that would've been the end of Wario for good!
pretty sure Wario's canonically immortal
FOOLISH MORTAL, WARIO HAS NO BAD ENDINGS, ONLY HIS VILLAINS DO
I liked all the classic Wario Land games, but his one, I have to admit, can be quite frustrating. Some of the hidden exits are just outright unfair. It often ends with "Throw enemy against random wall!"
But, then agian, that's how game used to be. It's one of the few aspects of old-school gaming that I do not miss.
Whoisthisgit, can i take a moment to say that your vids are just awesome. I saw this tonight, clicked on it, and said "Tonight is gonna be good."
I fucking loved this game. Played so many hours of it.
Plot Twist:
Syrup was the heroine the whole time.
19:27 Captain Syrup and the Sugar Gang are *blasting off again!*
Apart from each other...
I found the first level secret exit as a kid because I was so amused by the sleeping Wario sprite. Wario Land 2 was one of my first games and is one of my all-time favorite games ever, so just seeing this character that I liked sleeping was funny to me.
Chris W It's most likely that he wants to pretend those games don't exist, since they were all bad.
Clbull118
Master of Disguise wasn't that bad at all. In fact, it's quite on-par with the Wario Land games.
Adresadini Wario land shake it was amazing
World was okay, but not as good as the rest of the Land games. Shake it was on par or better than certain ones of the Warioland series.
Adresadini ever heard of Jack Bros.
YAS! ANOTHER VIDEO FROM AUNTIE GIT!

that group keeps getting team rocketed lol
Wario's entire treasure collection:

0:42 the clouds move with the music lol
15:30 --I bought it on 3ds VC. That's me. I thought the game was astronomically short and didn't touch it again for a while! I feel so dumb now.
A Hart now you know my friend, now you know...
Well get your 3ds and back to playing!
Warioland 2, along with the starforce megaman games and RF 2-4 are very underrated, so yeah, glad you covered it!
The creepiest thing about this game is that the sun never changes position during the ending.
27:32 I know how you feel Git. I know how you feel.
To cure everyone's curiosity, for the Wario not waking up secret path, in the first level of the game, you can't actually do it in the first playthrough.

Nope. It takes longer to do, but you absolutely can do the sleep path. I'd know because that was my first path
Yeah I learned the fact after I made the comment; think it’s something like a 4 minute wait or something?
Retro games can have just as much atmosphere as new games ^ w^ There's still music, story, characters, sound effects and design choices to be made~
Holy shit, I played this game so much as a kid. Thanks a lot for making a video about it, the nostalgia is too strong in this one

OK. Maybe this game DOES have a creepy bad ending after all! Though, it only creeps the bad guy, not the good guy or the player.
I found this video so enjoyable. I kinda got used to your way of hand holding us through the games you have played. Well done.
i was the person who didnt wake wario up.
On 25:56, there is sound effect almost similar as WL3 for final boss, Ruby's laugh. I didn't notice the sound are almost similar for since until now.

Can he even record Virtual Boy games?
You can, but the safe way is in Black and White.

I haven't really wanted to touch 2 and 3 because I don't like not being able to die.
0:40 am I the only one who can kind of hear the sonic drowning theme from that tone.
Great video, what a good game! Brings back many memories
This game is like Streets of Rage remake.
Many possible routes.
(I think there's only four, tho)
Connor Gamer That's a good thing in a game
Wow, that credits music. Nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks.
I don't think I got the original path when I first played it. I either did or I got the haunted house path.
I really love your channel !!! Just tje fact that you talk as a text is just too good !
30:32 the really final chapter???
That You-beat-a-level tune is engraved into my head
