- This isn't really a Creepy Bad Endings video, it's more of what I'd call an "Interesting Multiple Endings" video. But why create a new series when I can just fit it into an already well-established one?

Bad endings. I don't know about anyone else, but they terrify me. Just when the hero(es) thought everything was finally right, just when it looked like peace had finally returned to the world, something happens that, at best, creates a bittersweet victory and, at worst, spoils everything and the enemies win, despite everything that happened throughout your adventure. Bad endings don't give you any second chances, you screwed things up for everyone and you must pay dearly...

The dream ending is obviously this game's creepy bad ending. When Syrup invades, Wario subconsciously mimics the actions from his dream, causing him to yet again enter the haunted house, where he again discovers he was in a dream upon reaching the end of the haunted house. And thus Wario enters an endless cycle of waking up from the same dream, never able to reclaim his treasure, never able to truly wake up.

LightningDude999 I don't think so. Syrup managed to steal his treasure because he was asleep when she arrived, but in the dream route he wakes up by himself before she arrives thanks to that nightmare / premonitory dream

I never really mind bad endings that are less than prominent in a video: it's entertainment enough to hear our favorite text-based narrator discuss the whole plot and mechanics of the game, like going on an educational adventure!
And also, would you consider this more of an episode of Lovely Good Endings, or do they still retain the unsettling "premature end" factor that makes it a bad ending episode?

Who else found the alternative route in the beginning of the level by mistake, I did by leaving the game on to do something else. When I go back to play the game, I noticed I cleared the stage. I was like, "What the heck?". Certainly a clever way to hide a alternative exit.
16phillip10 I haven't played this one, but it sure has really clever secrets and endings. I really got to try this game out someday.

This game's multiple ending system beats the hell out of Starfox Command and Shadow the Hedgehog's by a quarter mile. Wp, Wario Land II.

Shadow the Hedgehog... well, while it may have had alot of endings, it was pretty tedious to go through EVERY stage again and again, so youre definately right.
oh and trust me, ive played through all of the endings in Shadow the Hedgehhog.

Alternate endings are freaking wonderful, i especially like when games are programmed to allow being clever and breaking the usual flow (Or in certain cases, using new game plus to view things that are technically impossible on the first run).
Wario has always been one of my favorite Nintendo characters. You want the world and the princess saved, you call Mario.
You want some asses kicked, and you don't care the cost? Wario's got you covered. Just make sure you pay the man, or at least tell him there's some treasure involved, but don't lie to him about it, or he will find you. He's a mercenary.
I can only imagine if we had a Mario styled adventure that involved Bowser. There was one time Wario got a princess, but he just doesn't seem too interested in that. There was also that other princess that had the cat curse, but he didn't get to keep that one, unfortunately.

Not sure how a game where you apparently can't die can be considered 'challenging' at any point, but it was interesting to see just how many different ways there are to make Team Black Sugar go Blasting Off Again in this game. I sometimes hear people talk about wanting to see a Wario version of Peach, or 'Nega-Peach', but Captain Syrup may be exactly that.
I know it's cliched as a dream sequence at this point, but Git deserves a lot more views and likes.

Well, Syrup does become a good guy in warioland: shake dimension, so you could consider her peach if another warioland ever comes out.

Well since it's Nintendo they'd probably have the extra paths already then add DLC for even more paths on top of that.

I love how Syrup ended up getting bubbled while trying to flee from Wario.
What amazes me is that all that content manages to fit on such a small cartridge, and with such small processing power. This was gbc era stuff, yeah? Looks like a gba game. And that surrounding screen on the whatyoucallit would be near impossible.

I found the first level secret exit as a kid because I was so amused by the sleeping Wario sprite. Wario Land 2 was one of my first games and is one of my all-time favorite games ever, so just seeing this character that I liked sleeping was funny to me. When you've played a game to death, but still want more, you start to focus on the small details.
I fucking loved this game. Played so many hours of it.

Quadrilogy? In terms of Wario platforming games there is also Virutal Boy Wario Land (the only one of the 8 not be released in Europe), Wario World, Wario: Master of Disguise and Wario Land: Shake It!. So wouldn't it be 8 Wario platforming games and thus an Octrilogy? But yeah if you don't count those 4 games then it would be a quadrilogy.

To cure everyone's curiosity, for the Wario not waking up secret path, in the first level of the game, you can't actually do it in the first playthrough.
It seems the developers didn't want us to skip the "tutorial level" for the first time through.
It was actually the first secret path I found (I think I just looked away for a few seconds and in that time I passed the level).
Nope. It takes longer to do, but you absolutely can do the sleep path. I'd know because that was my first path

I liked all the classic Wario Land games, but his one, I have to admit, can be quite frustrating. Some of the hidden exits are just outright unfair. It often ends with "Throw enemy against random wall!"
But, then agian, that's how game used to be. It's one of the few aspects of old-school gaming that I do not miss.
The creepiest thing about this game is that the sun never changes position during the ending.
This game is like Streets of Rage remake.

The dream ending was actually the first ending I got in this game. Coincidentally the last game that I beat prior to this one was the US version Super Mario Bros 2, which also ended in a dream. I thought from that point every game was going to be a dream.

I have something that I think you should know about the alternate path in the first level. It can be accessed when you first play the game, I've tested it myself and it worked for me, however, instead of waiting in bed for about 5 seconds like you showed in the video, at the start of the game, you have to wait for about 30 SECONDS! It's after you discover your first ending and when you discover that there are alternate paths in the game that the waiting time is dropped from 30 seconds to 5 seconds. I'm sure that the 30 second waiting time is put there to prevent new players from discovering the alternate path too soon. I think it's interesting on how that path is reached and when you can reach it.

Not waking wario up could have happened to me. In Pokemon Moon I waited a minute until something happened without realising that you need to move.
I haven't really wanted to touch 2 and 3 because I don't like not being able to die.
5:08 It's sorta insane to feel that about an Original Game boy game, but it's more understandable for the Game Boy Color, which all games for the system have an immense amount of colors to set the mood and theme!
