I'm so glad more people are starting to talk about her, i feel like she's so underrated even though she's super entertaining. Gfoty is the type of music you play to those people who says they'll listen to everything and you scare them away. Wish she was more active :(((
I used to listen to GFOTYBUCKS when I was driving my friends to lunch in high school. It was the right level of extreme production to make them pay attention, but also absurdist lyrics that would be entertaining enough that they would enjoy the experience. Tongue and Friday Nights are personal favorites.
also, I disagree on at least 7g sounding anything much like modern hyperpop. Hyperpop at the moment is really trending towards that glitchcore, ecco2k, bladee sound, nothing like the blend of acoustic/synthetic that AG brings in his production. Although I do think it's 100% the correct option for AG, and PC music as a whole to step down now, instead of becoming more and more inundated with the sound and weight of being the "innovators of pop" for the next who knows how many years.
I discovered GFOTY just this month. Digging it, as I don't usually find pop noisy nor unhinged enough to listen to. I'll say though that _Poison_ is of course about poisoning someone, the subtext could also be interpreted as about alcoholism. Especially the contrast of coming right after _Red Silver Blue._ Done in by drink, pop, or whatever kind of compulsive consumerism.
@@valendale1903 OMG! I've heard rumors that she's working on a new album but this is great to hear! I wonder if Jerskin Fendrix is still going to be helping with some of the production?
amazing video. can you name some of the hyperpop producers you said are doing it better than AG? would love to know more about whats happening in the hyperpop scene. even tho im weirdly sceptic about it. hyperpop now sometimes feels like an abomination of what pc music wanted to be.
i knew that "hyperpop" was damned when straight guys started to mainsplain it to me on tinder. like that music was designed for girls and gays and MAYBE few weird art majors straight guys, of course i know who charli xcx is, shut up steve
Nice vid, although I disagree with some of your interpretations of the songs. I'm subscribing for more though, and hopefully I'll be able to say I was here before 100 when you get big.
Imagine running a video critiquing music and calling it genius for pushing the boundaries of what music is, while in the same breath insulting Blink-182, and the original song, which in and of itself was a parody of popular music, instead of appreciating the evolution the song has taken as a whole... Do you even music, friend?

SOPHIE. She is hyperpop
That's because a lot of the artists have lost the satire aspect of it and it's become the thing it was parodying

Wish you had included the one that goes - “I’m watching you, and all the things you do, ppl laugh at you, cos you’re so dumb “

Have u heard BIP LING - bipping?
You hate Blink-182 just because they're older men? Absolute brain rot
Yeah, it was probably tongue in cheek but also ageist and unnecessary
That was the point where I stopped caring about this guy's opinions
I agree
