    Beautiful build Buddy; I've made two of these spot welders and they work fantasic. I've even spot welded several ak47 kit guns and a stein gun so that they would be slick sided firearms without any rivets sticking out. And they've held up beautifully. Along with every project that required spot welding. The result has been no more rental fee's for a spot welder. The project paid for itself with its first use. Highly recommend build, if your project ever requires one.

    The only thing I would add to this machine is a fuse or circuit breaker, in case the primary shorts out. Don't need to burn down the house or shop for the lack of inexpensive Circuit breaker or fuse. Thanks for sharing! Loved every bit of it! Super job. Best wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

      The cord is already fused at the end of the power cable (top plug connector) and the socket must be separated from the rest of the other sources. What you are saying is just many unnecessary items being in mind that this is just a simple project that can be implemented by non engineering people

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya 3 роки тому +5

      @@mikesgenerators2068 The top plug connector at his shop is but I doubt it would be at someone else's shop. I would also add a ground to the metal case as well. Both these safety features are very easy to add and could prevent a death. I've seen first hand what happens when there's no fuse or safety ground on an electrical appliance or tool. It wasn't pretty, the guy got electrocuted and burned badly and had to spend a few months in the hospital. He was out of work for 6 months and his scars were permanent. Besides if someone can build this an extra two dollar fuse and ground the case is no sweat to protect your life. After seeing what I've seen I have never failed to include those in my project builds, nor will I ever skip those two safety items again, just for the sake of making it easier or adding "Unnecessary Items" that don't add to the function of a tool. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    Excellent build. Thats a pretty heavy duty spot welder. I am building one to spot weld batteries and I had to put in circuitry to controll the number of AC cycles and the conduction time of each cycle otherwise it would just blow through the batteries. Love the paint job too.

      Why not trying at home?! every genius person starts making various good things at home, but what important is to make sure that perfect safety is applied even by requesting support from the skilled electrician in order to avoid short circuit and to be sure with proper insulator which supposed to be bad conductor of heat especialy to the secondary winding and to ballance the secondary windings of wire accordingly.

      This project of his directly deals with AC and the case is also made of metal, one mistake could possibly kill you. It's fine if you know what you are doing and careful, but can you say the same for the viewers, majority of them don't know whats AC. Also, you don't need to be genius to build staffs/ projects at home. You are free to do anything, so long it doesn't pose a risk to your life.
