I am baffled as to why no one has restored it to its original beauty. Even if the county (if anything) can make it an historical landmark/museum if they invest in it’s renovation 🙏🏽❤
it is an national historic landmark, and the house is being restored by Historic Hudson. Should have said that in the beginning, instead of making it believe is abandoned. And you can visit the house
Brilliant video, thanks for sharing! I too love exploring and was fortunate to go to Angkor Wat in Cambodia in 2003 before a lot the ropes went up, so you know I was in and out of everything!
I don’t usually describe things as “trippy” but that staircase! Beautiful to look at but it also looks like a murder scene from an Agatha Christie/PBS special
So beautiful, that stairway alone is a tribute to the quality of craftsmanship that America once prided itself in.
Really great video John! I love that I can feel your passion and connection to all these places you visit. It’s really cool and special!
Thanks man! Means a lot! Happy to share these experiences with you.
Ditto that. Great job on showcasing
That staircase is awesome, btw I'm happy to see they've maintained the windows. it's very important to keep the elements out.
So beautiful...and so expensive to maintain!
Looks totally restorable.
This was used in the film The Bourne Legacy, with Jeremy Renner. Absolutely gorgeous.

That’s a neat staircase
It was very fun - and often tricky - to photograph.
Brilliant video, thanks for sharing!

That house is awesome. Being that this was a part of the training school is this house on the prison property?

Did you see or feel any ghosts? What did the house smell like?
So sad to see it in this shape
I do hope they are trying to save this house.
is not abandoned, it is a National Historic Landmark house, and is currently being restored by Historic Hudson
