  • 2022 is just around the corner, so to help you accelerate decisions for a business in the new year, here's a 5-step framework to help you reduce the overwhelm, make decisions, and choose the right path that will help you get results more quickly.
    In this video, I also feature @RobertoBlake who attended our event, Audience Driven, and laid down some amazing value about a particular segment of this framework.

    As you know Pat, I started my podcast 2 years ago after listening to your Ask Pat 2.0 show. Well, nearly hitting 3 million downloads. The ad revenue without sponsorship etc has started to make a living wage. The show launched its own app and next year, our first physical product.
    For everyone reading this and starting to follow Pat, his methods work. The only barrier to your own success is YOU.

    Enjoyed the video Pat! I've made all the mistakes in the book, but I love the closing thoughts on finding 1 person, solving their problem and continuing to level up.
    Love Robertos points on focusing on 2 platforms. Great stuff!

    Hi Pat DJ Skoob here. Thank you for the structure. I really had shiny objects syndrome bad. I want to fo so many different things. Especially in monetization. Im having trouble just picking 1 to concentrate on. Everything else i got. So i will try to pick 1 to learn. Thank you Pat!!

    Good advice. I find it hard to stay on one thing, because I'm constantly having new ideas, but I've made myself do it (mostly). I got my real estate business up and running, then more recently started my UA-cam channel. I'm trying to get to the 1,000 subs needed to get into the partner program. I kind of broke this one at a time rule by signing up for Merch by Amazon. I didn't think that would be too distracting, because it doesn't require constant attention. I can just upload a new design when I feel inspired. Thanks for the great content, Pat!

    I've head the term niche down, but never explained as well as this, thanks Pat. I guess starting out, I'm not sure where good opportunities will come from so I don't want to close the door on anything. I don't like the idea of saying no to some things but I think it's the right call.

    Hi Pat, I have been interested in starting my own podcast but you have been my inspiration for it. Thank you for all the amazing and helpful content you share. I have a question: is it best to start with an audio podcast and then transition to video format (youtube) after I have a large enough number of subscribers? What if I want to make my podcast available in both audio and video formats, as well as generate short clips (like you advised in one of your videos) to reach a wider audience? Does this sound wrong? Is it putting too much on my plate?

    Thanks a lot for your work. Question for you, if you find the time.
    Do you consider writing (self publishing) books and podcasting to be two different content platforms? Or are they simply two different things altogether? I am writing books that I want to work with to grow my business and find clients, but also start a podcast. Is that two content platforms?

    At what point should you set up a UA-cam platform or website as a business?

    • @patflynn
      @patflynn  2 роки тому

      Those platforms are not the business, they're the place to run a business from / or on and build an audience. The business is the service or a providing of a solution to the audience that you build. Based on this framework, it would be building on these platforms to build an audience once you've determined who it is you want to serve!

    Hey Pat, dope video, but I have a question. What would be your recommendation for niching down on a podcast that is based around guests we have coming onto the show. By the nature of having guests as our source of information, their information would be pretty diverse and in the scope of multiple episodes. We are focusing on the ideas of entrepreneurship and success as provided by our successful guests, which share their insights and opinions on whatever industry they are in. Would that be too general, or do you think that is about right for the nature of our work? If you read this, thank you for your time immensely.

    Would you consider something like Patreon to be social media, too?
    You're always great about clarifying things, making them so much easier!

      Great question. Looking forward to the answer.
      I think that Patreon would be a membership platform, which would be one monetization choice. Look forward to confirmation or education.

    • @patflynn
      @patflynn  2 роки тому +2

      I agree with Michelle, before monetizing you’d need a place to communicate with your audience without a paywall. Patreon would be one Monetization platform that provides an opportunity for your people to connect with you more deeply, in exchange for that offer!

    Hi Pat, thanks for this video. Im hyper focused in one platform and seeing some good results but in this platform, there are endless niches and that sometimes throws me off my game.
    I was wondering if I should hire someone to help me keep up with it all and if you think I should, what is a good pointer you could give me to get started on the road to finding help? Hope this makes sense

    Pat I have some feedback for you, I find your presentation and content extremely boring. I have tried to watch a couple of your videos now and I feel you may need to take some courses/lessons/mentoring on your delivery and language used in your content. Your monotone style and over worded explanations are disengaging and actually disconnecting. Sorry.

    • @GiggleGroup

      @@patflynn I actually am your target audience, SME and growing, strong presentation skills and a growing client base both corporate and charities. It’s a worry that with feedback such as this you minimise with a target audience remark as if 100% of your target audience is required to embrace your style or they are suddenly not in the target audience! But you are right, each to their own and I respect that.
