Originally I bought Persona 5 because I didn't want to play royal because I thought the soundtrack was different but then I immediately went to persona 5 royal after beating Shido and discovered that the P5R is way better and maintains the original soundtrack plus more. Only difference is the title screen is colors flying high rather than Wake up get up get out there.
I love how this is the theme of Phantom Thieves fighting for their ideals while "Throw away your mask" is the theme of Maruki fighting for his ideals, so much poetry

I have no idea how I got the game without hearing it. As soon as the final day came and the Life Will Change started before the lyrics, I got as pumped as I got at the end of the original P5
I like to believe that beginning segment is meant to be a slight motif to the song that plays when a party member awakens their Persona, which is fucking sick after learning, just, everything Maruki.
Its a shame that my favorite song in the entire game (and thats saying something) only plays during a cutscene and when you go to steal the treasure of the final palace.
"Yes, I know using Akechi and Sumire will make fighting Maruki harder. What's your point?" Feels like a waste to not use the two of them for this fight. Pair em up with either Ann or Ryuji, depending on your preference of Concentrate or Charge, and that's all you need. Provided you fused Maria so you can be the healer when needed.
