    For GLOW STICKS:
Buy a bag of a couple hundred "fishing" glow sticks. They're small but very bright and I've had them last for MANY days. They're great for leaving trails or for marking places you'll frequently reach in the dark. They're also insanely cheap! Like...pennies

October 2024, Walmart is selling packs of 30 4.5" various color glow sticks for $7. Some colors look pretty but are not especially bright like the green ones but can be used marking items and areas. And, if you have ever been in an area where there are ZERO light outside, a small amount of light is all you need.

That ammo can as is wont sheild yiur electrinics from an emp. You need to modify it for that to work. It likely has a rubber gasket in the lid. You need to remove it and use a conductive material to make a new conductive gasket. You also need to line the inside of the ammo can with a non conductive material to put your electronics on so they are not touching the can.

Side note. The HFT box can be a shield. However in its stock form it lacks die to rubber lid seal/gasket. Sadly removing that sacrifices water proof characteristics. Leaving it allow RF waves to enter.
It is possible to obtain a modicum of protection by wrapping the electronic items in aluminum foil and providing a buffer between them and the metal cage.

People worry too much about EMP and solar flare, most small electronics would be just fine in case these happens. I have seen a test of small electronics vs EMP without any protection, electronics with all metal construct like flashlights laughed at the EMP, not even affected at all. Radios, walkie talkie and another electronics works just fine after the EMP. Even when they are turning on while the EMP happen, some of them turn off and you just need to turn them on again after the EMP, again, they works just fine.
Bigger electronics and the power grid is roasted in case of big EMP or solar flare btw, that's our main worries.

I wouldn't take a chance. I would protect even the batteries. I have a metal cabinet converted into a faraday cage and a metal army medical case that I use for my living room coffee table. So I have A LOT of items including flexible solar panels (require less space), marine battery, charge controllers, Inverters etc. I know is over done but since I have the space, why not? You can be right BUT I would not trust anything on line. Sure gives me ideas but I take what I think is right and what I TKINK is wrong. I do like to hear all opinions, that's why I'm here. Next, I'm converting my shipping container that is on off the grid location into a home. It's 40'x9' tall one way shipping container. I'm gonna shield the whole interior into a faraday fabric. The container will look just the way it is from outside, but inside will have all the amenities a house have, and all the connections will be hooked to and from under the trailer. Thank you for the info you provided

What about storing Li-Ion batteries like 18650s?

In a real life survival situation i think USB powered devices have the downside of being hard to charge if you lack the according adapters. Try hooking up a car battery to a USB C. You will either need a premade converter/adapter or disassemble your device untill you can bridge the USB dock with wires on the circuitboard. Also i would always include a generator lamp that you can crank to charge.
