Thanks for the episode. I haven't checked in on the state of vr for a long time, and I found this very encouraging! It feels like VR is going through some healthy growth after the hype died down a bit. I love the idea of rec room understanding the limits of VR and working with it instead of trying to hide it or force it.
I can beat Lost Skulls over and over now...with the right team. Overcoming the difficulty and putting together the right team (and do speed runs!) is truly rewarding though and I wouldn't change a thing about it. I'd love to watch an interview with the devs. Great video, guys. Thanks!
I've made S class 10+times at this point in The Lost Skulls quest, and am helping others get it as well. Some of the most satisfying gameplay is to beat it with someone for the first time. It requires intense communication and teamwork. You can beat it Tested!
Always a lot of quest pros forming groups in the Rec Room Discord server! Or DM some of the devs in there and we'd be happy to group up :) discord.gg/recroom
I totally 200% agree with you.. while other VR games have a few players maybe 3-4 and others are single, Recroom has done things right and connected many random players together and there is so much fun playing on quests or playing 8 player games there like Paintball or Laser Tag.
Yes, please make another segment on custom rooms and circuits! There’s a room called ^FeaturedRooms where the dev team features rooms made by players every week or so. I’ve had a few there that I made including a replica of the rec center and a full-on Taco Bell.
I'd say it did feel like the hardest, as it was new with new mechanics. However, once you get the mechanics down, I feel it's actually easier than Curse of the Crimson Cauldron. It just takes practice. Still love it. You can see where micro-transactions can start fitting in with the new token system and the ability to buy items instead of working on them. Come into the Q&A today at 3pm PST and get some face time with the Devs.
Rec Room is easily one of (if not the) best VR experiences out there, and it's been that way for over a year and a half now! The little world that Against Gravity has built is an amazing place to meet cool people and forge strong friendships. The dev team is absolutely astounding, keeping things fresh with updates all the time, and they've always been open to player feedback and suggestions. If you've got a headset and haven't tried it yet, you don't even know what you're missing. Go join the fun!
i tried Rec Room and was really amazed, but it is not what i like to play of VR game. i will say it is a cool game and totally worth trying if having a VR headset.
I tried both The Void (Ghostbusters Dimension in Toronto and New York) and 3 games by ZeroLatency (in Phoenix and Poconos). Graphics is better in The Void and they have some additional immersive tricks (smells, aerosols and wind). Also you can interact with real objects in the Void, but I always have some latency issues with their technology. No issues of that kind have ever occurred with ZeroLatency, so they are not kidding with the name. All ZL arenas are much bigger than Voids, and you can play with bigger number of friends. The fact that you could play multiple games in the same location is one of the main benefits of ZL technology. None of this technologies is a full body VR and you can not see your hands for example. To conclude, the Void is more like a one time experience, and ZL is more like a game.
With a bit of practice & a good team it's not too hard to complete Island of the Lost Skulls, would definitely make the game less fun if the difficulty was reduced.
The new quest is amazing, I played it to death and finally got all the items in the shop including the S rank ones, and I still find myself going back for more despite not getting any kind of reward from it simply because I just love grabbing bottles in midair and tossing them back at skellies.
Yo! There are always players forming groups to quest in our Discord server and subreddit. You can find links to them both here: www.againstgrav.com/help-center/
Hey have you guys done one on the custom rooms and the stuff you can do in them like maker pen sculptures or live concerts? Very interesting. Check out ^defendthewall and the sick maker pen dragon built. Also check out my UA-cam for in game live shows and music videos. Way more interesting
I heard about the update while at work and I was so excited to check it out. I played for the first time in ages for more than 30 minutes. SMOOTH LOCOMOTION paintball! I tried the other quests but everything forces teleport $!#@$!!! So I had to quit.
Interesting, but the lack of anime girls makes it a no go for me. On the other hand VR chat has plenty of anime girls but the meme content is too thick for me. Need to find a middle of the road option...

You guys definitely need to cover the new PSVR patch for “WipeOut”. It could be the best, most well-optimized VR experience yet! Amazing.
Rec Room is the first killer app in my opinion. It's so fun

Arizona Sunshine has a pretty enjoyable reload mechanic :)
16:22 Zero Latency
Zero Latency has a location in Melbourne! This awesome stuff never comes here!
Of course it has, it is where it was founded!

With the Pirate quest, des said that there was more fun with 3 people rather than 4.
Are you guys going to cover Google's "Welcome to Light Fields"?
The devs said that their visuals are artistic choice, not only performance thing.

Can you help me beat it? (my name is Link)
