@@63paulc yes Sir ...I did so that I might help others that was having the same issue. Is it a fix ? No but it gets around the problem.. thank you for your response and I'm glad it helped you!
Ive come across plenty of these bad gm grounds. Most likely the ground wire on side of transmission to engine bolt studs. Wires frey off of the copper eyelits. Should be able to see them below throttle body. Hope this helps!
I'm having this problem at least every other week. I've only had my G6 since before Thanksgiving. I put a motor in it, and it was good for a minute. I really liked your video. No rambling, no um um ums, and it's perfect for a girl like me, who has some knowledge and resourcefulness, but not the good hacks!! Have a blessed 2023 Christmas 🎄. I'll let you know if I figure it out. 😉
Dude, you are a lifesaver! I've got a G6 in Pheonix (mistake to begin with I know) and I keep getting stranded in places because my car won't start after a 30 min drive (not even halfway across town). This trick works and it has kept me from melting!
Thank for letting me know this has helped someone else with this problem... What I have shown is not a repair nor should be considered a fix for the issue BUT it does get around it ... Glad it helped you with your vehicle 👍🏼
Relay was good no cracks in the fuse box ...some where it lost its ground to the relay we never looked any further for the problem as the ground wire to the ground pin on the relay solved the no crank issue ..it's still running in the bypass wire to this day with never a problem starting
Check the ground wire that is located on the transmission fasten with a nut. It by the temperature sensor on the main transmission bolt. There like 5 wires. Those wires get corroded. No crank no start sounds like a rely box issue. Swap out my relay fuse box. In my Chevy cobalt.
The ground to the starter relay was not active.. this was causing the starter not to engage using the key .. we supplied a ground to the ground pin on the relay and the car started right up ... Also we left the jump wire on it for a week of normal driving activity to see if the problem came back and it did not ...we ran a new ground wire to the pin from underneath the fuse box later on and no more issues so for ...😊
Believe it or not mine wasn't starting while warm it took for Ever to get a lucky crank and when I grounded the relay like this man it's starting every time
No we just used a ground jumper wire at the ground pine if the relay ...that's an easier troubleshoot to see if it is a dead ground in the box or a ground supply to the box ...once you use the ground jumper and ground that starter relay it will start if it is a ground problem
We never went through the trouble to find where the ground was last ..we just established that new ground to the starter relay and that car is still running today and no issues..
Just did this to my car and it worked. 🎉 Thank you so much 3 years car has been parked. 2010 Pontiac g6. Can I just leave the wire to the battery. Since it’s only grounded can’t overheat or anything right
My intermittent no crank issue has been going on for years. It can go many months without acting up & then out of nowhere it happens again. I'm going to try this temporary ground jumper. Thx for the suggestion.
Yes , the car was driven and tested after it was hot ..It's been four months now and the car still has had no other issues with cranking ...

I had the same problem it was the ground on the bell housing one of the wires it was black/white strip it had only two strands holding on just added a piece wire so it could reach that took care of that hope this helps you and any body else
I have A 2009 Pontiac G6 2.4L dealing with the same issue no crank no start changed out the starter, alternator neutral switch fuses the whole dam yards and nothing I'm trying your way give it a try
Thank you so much for posting this video. Very helpful. I have the same issue, however mine would start when cooled off. I was wondering if this car has the same issue and if after adding the wiring to it if it was tested to turn on while engine was hot?
The one we worked on just quit all together .... but the when hot issue seems to be in the copper strands of wire inside the fuse box ,I have seen some that the wire got hot and cracked resulting in separation when hot due to the wire expanding and separating them when cool it will go back together and crank .. we did check this one for cracks but non where found ....BUT ! If it has lost the ground to that relay were I show to ground it to the battery ,,you have reestablished the ground and it will crank if it's a ground issue ....Hope this helps .
This one started not cranking here and there then one day it just quit starting...this wire jumper was kept there for a couple of days just to see if it gave anymore problems and it did not ...it's still starting and running now with the new ground that was re pinned into place ..
it was used to run a ground from the battery to the ground pin on the relay in the fuse box ..no special wire just a piece we use for testing with a clip on it .
If it has the same issue, possibly it may work .. locate your starter relay and find which pin is the ground pin and add a temporary ground to the relay ground pin and try and see ... Don't know for sure...
Thank you! Ive been having the same problem for a year and a half you help me fix it in one minute. Thanks for posting.

Can I just leave the wire onto the battery
@@targetcadena yes it will be ok to leave it that way , if you don't want to go through the trouble taking all of the fuse box apart.
@@stevengraham4678 thank you
I'm going home to try this now

So the problem was to replace the bad relay fuse?
Thank you gonna try this at daylight. I've bought new alternator, starter, battery and new battery cables and it won't start. I really hope this helps
Did it work?
So the problem was a bad ground pin in the starter relay?
No because I had this problem and switched out with several relays
@@SammyFknParishe was saying the ground inside of the fuse box I’m going to try later cause I’m having this problem
have you ground the cable on the bottom of the box? I have the same problem! Thanks!!!!

Trying that today on a 07 torrent lets see if it helps ty for info
Hey Steven this has helped me a lot!! But can you tell me where the ground wire is located that was faulty?? Thank you!
we never looked for the problem spot ,just went around it ...
Perfect
Yeah I did that but now it makes this tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick sound when I hook the battery back up
What’s that red wire you used called?
it was used to run a ground from the battery to the ground pin on the relay in the fuse box ..no special wire just a piece we use for testing with a clip on it .
Your starter has a fuesable link connected to it that might be the problem that was the problem I was having
Was it in your body control module … I did the ground and mines not working so I’m guessing problem in body control module
Im wondering is the same for g5?
If it has the same issue, possibly it may work .. locate your starter relay and find which pin is the ground pin and add a temporary ground to the relay ground pin and try and see ... Don't know for sure...
I need a help right now with mine
Oh yeah it the ground at the top left of your transmission
