Super helpful! 4 yrs ago moved to a rural area and HughesNet was the only WiFi service available, ughh but anyways, ziply fiber is now available- and now moving to a home that has a daylight basement. This has helped me to sort out confusion on what to buy! Thank you!
The problem with most installers (myself included) is they do have the knowledge about products, but their company has strict orders for them not to recommend products. Main reason being is if there is an issue that arises, then that installer, the company included, gets blamed. Most ISPs have a bad rep already, so to add that would make things even worse. I try to recommend mesh WiFi every time, and I make sure that I say it’s my personal recommendation, not the company’s.
I live in a very rural area. Our one and only option is Century Link. No other available. Our “speed” is 12 mb, just recently upgraded from .7. (Dial up). We have a good sized two story with basement. When the tech installed the router, he put it on the second story in a middle bedroom. I now have a basement office that is getting less than 6 mb and it cuts out frequently We have Ethernet wired through quite a bit of the home, including very close to the basement office. From your video, I think I’m going to upgrade to mesh as there are a number of walls and floors I’ll need to go through wherever I put the router. Should I incur the expense of moving the router to the main floor from the second story, or just get the mesh and two auxiliary units? I guess the question is, does it matter if the router is in the middle and auxiliary ones at the extreme ends, or will it be as effective if they are router to auxiliary to auxiliary in series? Your video is extremely well done with no stupid music blaring in the background and very concise. Well explained without being redundant Thanks
Great video B. I work for Lumen fiber and you nailed it, fiber is always better than any coax or copper provided service. I use 2 eero pro’s in a 2100 sq ft house with 20-30 connected devices on our 1GB service. Absolutely no issues.
I bought the Orbi wifi 6 at cost co for like $80 off about month and half ago . Makes a world of difference. Fast speeds through out my 2,400 Sq feet and runs my outdoor wireless security and ring doorbell smoothly. Worth the money!
I’m the anti-technology geek but I purchased an Eero Pro 6 tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6 system and it was the best investment I could’ve made for my home network. All my home network issues that I had with my Nest outdoor security cameras and internet service have been resolved.
That is something I sort of failed to mention in this video, is that all wifi problems with all devices typically disappear with the addition of speed and coverage.
This is the problem I am facing. My Ring security flood cam is dropping service. Plus, I have a very weak signal strength. This is why I am here looking into mesh Wi-Fi?
Anything is better than the provider rented equipment. I have Suddenlink service at 300M and it sucked using their equipment. I decided to return the modem/router and get my own. I went with the Arris surfboard 3200 and purchased the MeshForce M3 suite. I didn't know what I was missing. My speed and wifi were great and no more dropping/buffering. My youngest is moving into their own apartment. They are taking the MeshForce unit. I was considering the Google Nest unit, but I am glad I saw your video and read some comments. Also in consideration was the Eero, and TP Link. Thanks for the information!
I recently installed the Nexxt Vector 3600AC three unit mesh. Our house has concrete walls and the ISP router just covered 30% of the house. With two kids having online classes and two adults working from home, the traditional extenders didn’t make it . After installing the mesh, the whole house has great coverage and connection speeds are great. The only down side is that it uses outdated security protocol. Nexxt did promise to update to AES.
Thanks for the info., The local tech recommended an Arris system saying it worked better with the Comcast modem. So I will get that mesh system. Comcast Business customer service was of no help at all and tried to sell several additional services that didn't seem applicable to slow wifi issue.
My number 1 tip for people wanting to install a 2 or 3 mesh wifi setup at their house is to call around electricians to get a dedicated CAT6 cable backhaul ran from wherever your cable modem and main AP is located to connect to the mesh units. If the AP's have to punch through walls to talk to one another, you're automatically sacrificing speed just for the backhaul communication so no matter how good your range is with the satellite AP's, you're starting off with a bandwidth handicap.
I recently upgraded to ATT Fiber and the modem/router combo is great even with a 4000 sq ft house. Just 1 router. I used to have the Google mesh system (4 units total around the house) but disconnecting them all gives me much faster speed and coverage. ~300/350Mbps download and ~300/350Mbps upload speeds in the farthest distance from the one ATT modem/router. When I had the mesh system, it gave me slower speeds even though I was right next to it. I can't explain that part!
great video. Clear and concise. I just increase my speed to COX Gigablast. I am now getting 35 mbps upload and 400 -500 mbps download WIRED. On my galaxy on 5gigabyte I get 122 down and 34.6 up near ny router. 2.4 is lower. You helped me understand. Thanks
We have comcast in Portland Oregon. TV works, but even hard wiring from the Modem doesn't work for Zoom and we often lose the connection and freeze up.
We recently switched from: * 200Mbps Spectrum with our trusty-but-old AirPort Extreme 802.11ac (I gather nowadays called “WiFi 5”), to * “1Gbps” Google Fiber and the two free “Nest” mesh routers that came with it. I’m finding the WiFi speed to be all over the map: Typically 500-650Mbps in line-of sight of the routers, but all-too-often dropping *_way down_* to below 100Mbps, occasionally as low as 20Mbps for short times. I’ve only done one wired hookup so far, and the speed was *_a lot_* more consistent. Fair chance I’ll switch back to our old AirPort Extremes!
As a professional IT WiFi engineer , Xtenders = bad, MESH = only fair but easy for novices, true performance comes from proper placement of multiple AP's and proper configuration/installation. MESH is highly over-rated but an easy install alternative to a real connection.
Hey B, hoping you'll see this. I'm currently expecting to move at the end of the month with my family, and the new house requires a different internet solution than we currently have. For context, right now we have a 1Gbps package from our ISP who provided us with an Eero router. My parents have the router in their room so they're directly connected via ethernet. My brother, on the second floor, is connected wirelessly. I am on the third floor with a 50ft ethernet cable running through holes in the floor since the wi-fi signal, even with a range extender, was absolutely terrible(and my new desktop that I built last year doesn't even have wi-fi capability, I'd need an adapter for that.). At the new house we're moving into, the router will be in a more neutral area, the living room, which is on the floor below all three bedrooms, with my parents room being at the complete opposite end of the house from the router. Drilling holes in the floor at this house is not an option, and even if we did get permission to do so, you'd have at least three ethernet cables being snaked along the walls and ceilings, which doesn't look great. And while my brother and I could at least connect to wifi, being positioned directly above the router, my parents would likely get a terrible signal unless we invested in something like the Netgear Nighthawk AX11000, the new WiFi 6E model. And even then I have no idea what the signal strength for everyone would be with at least two televisions streaming 1080 or 4K content, three video games systems, four smartphones, two powerful gaming desktops, and two laptops and possibly other extra smart devices. So I've been considering the Netgear Orbi, specifically the newer Orbi AX6000 model, and I was wondering how feasible it would be to put one node in each bedroom regardless of proximity to one another. So one in my room, one in my brothers room right next to me, and another at the far end in my parents room. This would give each person their own node to connect to, wirelessly or via ethernet connection, but I wasn't sure if there would be problems with this, again, because at least two of them would be almost right next to each other, just with a wall separating the two rooms.
Great video! How do I add any Mesh WiFi to new Verizon 5G Home box? It keeps disconnecting constantly and I called technical support many times and they are no help. Looking forward to hear from you. Thanks!
I've tried several Mesh systems and my conclusion is they're decent for small to medium spaces but don't do so well in 5000 sq ft or greater multi-level homes, despite their claims. In my opinion it's better to spend the money for a few strategically-placed wired data jacks and then connect simple cheap nodes in AP mode with wired connections back to the router.
Its not possible for everyone to build that out. I've had success with Orbi for large homes.. 4 unit can handle 8k Sq ft house pretty well. I have the newer ax4200 3 node and it is ridic..
John: Not sure about that, I have access to my neighbors Orbi mesh network (they're friends). Single family neighborhood, they're house is about 80' away.
@@GunnyPhillips very true. When you do the nodes you mentioned, do you have to manually connect to them, or is there a way to connect automatically based on signal?
925.5 Mbps. Some sort of extenders that were a $200 add on for the cable modem. The extenders provide about 25 Mbps in bedrooms. The provider does not let mesh systems work with their modem. So I have to buy a modem AND a mesh system. Very discouraged.
Just dumped ATT 2 weeks ago. Fiber is available to my neighbors 2 blocks away but not my house. At 28 mbps it lagged and buffered a lot. Even so ATT charges 59 bucks a month. Just went to cable and it is very fast and 29 bucks a month.
Ok i know im late to the party but i have an orbi rbk 13 and ive got 400 mgb coming out of the main unit hardlined in but stand next to it i only get 18mgb on wifi and my computer in my office which is in the room directly above it only get 18mgb and normally i only get around 13mgb. Firmware says up to date and its the same with the satellites cant get over 20. please help.
Damn. How big is the house ? I'm about to pull the trigger and then I'll make a how to for set up. Not that it's rocket science but setting it up in 1 room is like a "like" magnet.
@@BTheInstaller The house is about 4000 sq ft. setup was super simple. I switched from Nest wifi for reliability issues. My four Nest Cam Outdoors would constantly drop connection while on Nest Wifi. Like I mean at least once a day. Now that I've been on Orbi they haven't dropped once! Go figure! My iPhone 12 Pro is wifi-6 and I'm pulling speeds of 600mbps on a 1gbps connection in every room in the house. It's well worth the investment as far as I'm concerned.

Get 20 down and 3 up in rural Illinois Brent. So Burt, my barn is 150 yards from my house. Do they make a system that you are familiar with to beam it there and disperse into the barn Brian? Enjoy the channel Ben!
We moved to a home that doesn’t lend itself to running concealed wires so we just had a Netgear router, but it was in one corner of our 2000 sq ft home. Coverage in our bedroom, farthest from the router, was meh. So I installed a Netgear Orbi RBK752. Watching your video made me glad I went with that unit. You brought up a point I’d always wondered about. Really low upload speeds. We have Spectrum cable and modem. We get 300+ mbps download but only around 10 mbps upload. Is there anything I can do to help that. Or it just is what it is. Thanks for the info you provided.
The ASUS AIMesh is excellent this is what I use in my two story home with two ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 handles 30 devices connected with ease!another benefit they are both tri-band routers.
Best video yet! Just bought to m4 mesh. Have Frontier fios Internet. With the TP mesh do I need to connect to Frontier’s router, add my Lynksis first then the mesh system or just TP mesh alone?
Hmmm, I really have no complaints about my at&t wifi. However, I have noticed whenever I drink five or more beers. My streaming pictue tends get somewhat blurry!? It really is quite the mystery!!? ;) Thanx for posting!
I run the new Google WIFI mesh system and its excellent 878 down and 100 up. My mesh network full bars throughout the house and 4K plays everywhere. 2700 square feet, shaw cable in Canada 🇨🇦. Placement is everything, I used there mesh placement tool and it made all the difference. I also worked with Google and they were excellent. I have Google home automation and Alexa everywhere, never skips a beat. Door, Garage, Hue lights, plugs. So very happy with the new Google WIFI. Cons is no firewall management.
Yeah I have only had experience with the one from 2019/2020. The one I show I. The mesh transition. We had 4 in a 2000sqft house and there were dead spots everywhere. Glad to hear the new ones are decent.
@@BTheInstaller I am struggling with the Google Nest, I bought the 2 pack and I live in one bedroom apartment and the signal drops 80% in my room It is unbelievable because the distance from the main router to the second device in the mesh is less than 10 ft . My net gear router frequently dropped the wifi connection. . I found it was overheating so i raised it 2" so air could cool it and since then no problems!
What up B! Question for you and yes my wife sucks! We live in Scottsdale and the only provider is cox cable and they have a monopoly. And are expensive. Wanting to cut the cord we were sold a ATT Netgear nighthawk m6 pro. The unit is in our living room and the internet is alway always buffering won’t play and on and on. When we first got the unit we got reception in our bedroom about 0 feet away now it doesn’t. What in the world can we do help. 🙏
Great video and great information! Food for thought considering the increasing need for connectivity with multiple devices, smart home needs, etc. I've always purchased my own cable modem, but upgraded my aging Apple Time Capsule backup/router device. We went with the Google system about a year ago and the improvement was dramatic. My son's gaming experience improved, zero lag/buffering on streaming shows and movies, more coverage/reliability... you get the idea. Covid hit a few months later and with all of the online schooling... It felt like we were prepared, for once!
Currently using WOW in southeast Michigan. When it works like it does 99% of the time it is fantastic and our Eero system was a nice upgrade from the netgear nighthawk singular router we had. WOW has problems every once in a while and for some reason they seem very unsure of the problem when it does go out.
Yep same here. I have WOW here in Florida, but you can't beat their prices. Verizon/Frontier is the best fiber provider in my area, but you're going to pay. Verizon/Frontier still charges you a 10$ rental fee, even if you have your own equipment...smmfh

I have a town home with multiple floors. I would say earlier this year my WiFi took a turn for the worse. So I purchased an new Arris Cable/Router but found this did do anything to matters. I use extenders but these don't help either. I logged in my Modum software, ran Spectrum Analyzer and found that I am competing with my neighbors. Many of the WiFi channels are in used and at time I get bumped off a channel and loose signals. Have been battling it ever since. I've seen the Mesh network systems but didn't know about them until no. Any suggestions for my current situation?
I have spectrum gig and orbi rbr50 with 3 satellites in 4,700 sq ft and still have issues. Had eero but switched to orbi. Much better. Thinking of going to WAP system like ubiquiti, araknis or ruckus. Thoughts?
I'm, not that rich to spend money on Mesh stuff. My house is 1900 sqft. And suggest me a good router plz under $160. I can't have Verizon(fios )atm. Coz they need some ground wiring so Spectrum the only way. Great video but still suggest me a good router plz.

I have Fios 400 MBps plan and use a 3 year old G1100 router. The router provides okay strength throughout my condo although I wouldn't mind upgrading to something better. I wonder if Apple will put a WiFi 6E adapter in the next MacBook Pro or if we'll have to wait until next year.
Some of my neighbors switched to Verizon Fios and are using the G3100, but their devices seem to connect to the 2.4 GHz network instead of the 5 GHz one. I like having different SSID names to specify which one my devices connect to.
I’m upgrading my local network and I’m confused. Have had AirPort Extreme for many years without problems but not any longer. More units connecting wireless is on thing. New router from the cable provider it’s now SageMVOM F@st 5370e from Telia. (I live in sweden) I’ve bought TP Link Deco AX 1890 Wi-Fi 6 system 2 pieces. My apartment ain’t big. What’s best Telia as a router and TP Link as access points? Or the other way around?
Thank you for sharing. I have spectrum internet cable and mobile service. My problem i8s my wifi signal disconnects while i am using youtube. Dont know if i need a new router. All of my equpment is from spectrum. Any suggestions
If they simply gave you one router/modem combo, signal could be going in and out depending on your distance away from that. Mesh systems can extend the range.
I live out of town and the only internet I can get is using the ATT WiFi hot spot. I can usually get 75 on this for just the cost of the device renta, about $24 per month, as apposed to the long distance Windstream that I could get up to 12... but I never saw that and it was usually around 5 but often below 1...... So I have a 3800 sq ft, three level home. The signal has been a bit off lately. Three smart TVs, 4 iPhones, three macbook pros and a ipad pro plus two chromebooks. To increase the signal I installed a google mesh to the port on the ATT WiFi device/hotspot. Top floor is where the host is, the middle floor in the master bedroom and the basement apartment, in the common area. Still having problems...any suggestions?

Great Video B! I used your tips setting up my my tri-band velop mesh. For areas without an Eth port for hardwiring, is it better to use a wireless node or keep it simple w/ existing wired nodes if you still have a decent WiFi connection further away from the wired nodes? (I have extra nodes, so it’s a speed question, not cost).
Don’t your provider have to be compatible with these cause we have centurylink dsl high speed internet so would these work with centurylink cause our internet drops a lot and gets slow and it drives me nuts so I’d like to try and fix the issue
Really enjoyed the video! I know this will be a dumb question, but I’m learning. You mentioned ditching the router from the ISP. When I talked with an AT&T tech, they recommended mesh Wifi, but that I wouldn’t be able to get rid of their main router. Is this legit or are they just trying to get me to keep paying for their router? Using fiber, but have poor coverage.
Choosing a mesh system is soo difficult... there are too many options... i decided to buy eero 6 because i can do wired backhaul... so i guess it wont hurt that much not having the 3 bands... hopefully it will work fine
Which one would you recommend? The orbi RBK752 or the ASUS AX6600 both are the same price $448 but the ASUS claims to have the same speed (AX6600) as the more expensive Orbi RBK852 which is $699 and the Orbi RB752 is only AX4200. I have just router comcast gave me.The salesman said I ll fast speed threw out house. But i don t I have outside spotlights with cameras in them ,one was off line alot because of wi fi.Thats reason I looking to extend if. Hoping A mesh unit will fix that?
@BTheInstaller hey thanks for responding. Since my home is older, it has THICK walls. I have a wireless security camera any idea how to increase the signal to it?
I live in a rural area and require a wireless GSM MODEM. DUE TO a weak signal my reception signal is mostly lost. What wireless GSM 1900 modem do you recommend
I have Xfinity internet and I bought a 6 mesh system from them, so I complained about my Wifi speed and a Tech told me, that the mesh system is for distance only and not for speed. So they gave me newer router modem combo so i had the set up all of my devices that can only use the 2.4gz. Here's my problem or what I think it may be ,the old router modem had the 2 channel Wifi 2.4 and 5g, I have the 1g service. Now what they didn't tell me was that the 2.4g and 5g are now combined and instead of 2 wifi channels. so now I only have to use the one password instead of two? By the way I live in a 4 bedroom 2000q.ft. home. So I unplugged all of the mesh systems and now I'm getting about 200g to 275g speeds using the 5g. Well by now I wasn't really happy with my wifi speeds so I purchased an Zen-booster extender, after hooking everything up..the Wifi speeds on the extender were ever slower. I then went back to square one and my wifi speeds are back to where they were 225 to 280 speeds, just using my own newwork..........what a waste of money, I feel like I got scammed by Xfinity and MI Tech.
I live in a very rural area in Ct on the side of a mountain. Have to use Netgear Model 1100 hotspot for internet. Download speeds of 48.84 and upload of 5.57. Can I use MESH system and login to the hotspot? Using nether extender now but do not have good overage in house.
Just ordered the orbi RBK752 to pair with my new verizon fios gigabit. We have one remote PC that doenst have wifi and is currently on a internet-over-power-cord type setup - and he's getting better speed since we upgraded the internet service, but still much lower than a laptop over the wifi downstairs. Slightly nervous about getting the Orbi set up with Verizon - like not sure if its better to unplug the modem (which is in my attached shed), or call verizon . . . or if I need to plug the new router in to the old one or i can just plug it in to the jack the installer gave me when he was here? (I used to have the coax but now i have regular ethernet outlet). Hopefully i'll figure it out when it gets here!
Question: currently using an external EZ Bridge Light point to Point Extender to get wifi signal from my detached home office to my home. My netgear router in my home picks up the signal but signal is weak in one area of the house. Will the Netgear Orbiesh network work with existing Netgear router or does the system come with a router that replaces the one I am currently using?
I have Google Fiber with mesh. It is supposed to switch between 2.4 and 5.0. It does not get 2.4 at all and I can't use any of my smart devices. Very frustrated.
I'm totally picking up a Mesh system now, looking to get some more coverage in the garage too. I did some digging around and some negative reviews on the Orbi say they force you to subscribe and use the Netgear Armor? Is this true in your experience or are people just not un clicking the box/ canceling the trial/ paying attention? The Orbi RBK13 3 piece system is currently $115 on amazon and thinking about picking it up quick. Thanks a million man.
I have spectrum. They claim 200mbps. When I test my network I get 140 down and 20 up. I do have all the issues you stated. I'm thinking of replacing my set up. Does the mesh network come with a cable modem?
i have Fios optic cable from Verizon in NY state....i have 1 gig but it usually is in the 100-300 range because once you get off ethernet and go wireless, it drops it right down...but who wants cables all over the place
That speed range is limited by the Wi-Fi chip in the device that's connected wirelessly to your router. iPhones from like 2014 are capped at around approximately 350Mbps speed over 5GHz Wi-Fi. Every device is different.
wifi extenders suck, use mesh. Hide your TV wires too - ua-cam.com/video/6sy49rr74JQ/v-deo.html

Very good video. I seen a lot of others on UA-cam for this subject and you’ve condensed this just right for me.
GOOD!!!! 👍👍👍👍
@@BTheInstaller I completely agree!
That's what I'm saying. Spread the video haha.
Definitely helps to be hardwired but most people that get these are doing it because they won't want to wire the home. Good point tho
We recently switched from:
* 200Mbps Spectrum with our trusty-but-old AirPort Extreme 802.11ac (I gather nowadays called “WiFi 5”), to
* “1Gbps” Google Fiber and the two free “Nest” mesh routers that came with it.
Agreed 100% im a unifi AP's guy and Mikrotik Routing person.

One of the most informative Wi-Fi videos I've seen on UA-cam. I'm going to start incorporating the word "suck" into my own videos.
Buy Ubiquiti enterprise routers, access points, etc.
@@krehbein Yea, I was just sharing my experience. As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.
@@GunnyPhillips very true. When you do the nodes you mentioned, do you have to manually connect to them, or is there a way to connect automatically based on signal?
Great video! But will be better if you recommend some other brands too instead of only Orbi
Linksys velop. I use them and they're excellent!
Thank you for the great, very informative video, Brandon!
A King James reference in a AV Video gets a big thumbs up from me.
It just sounded right.
Aww, love seeing you bring Flash to life with paint- amazing! And Barry in the beginning ❤ #bemorebarry
I've got the Orbi RBK852. It's an absolute beast. Managed to snag it cheap on a Black Friday deal.
Bro, I honestly only hit the 👍because you said you were from the 619!🤙! Get 20 down and 3 up in rural Illinois Brent. So Burt, my barn is 150 yards from my house. Do they make a system that you are familiar with to beam it there and disperse into the barn Brian? Enjoy the channel Ben!
Funny.
Sounds beefy
@@BTheInstaller indeed!
That's funny.
After 5? you must not be in any way part Irish
I am goin to try Orbit or Eero. Thank You so much for this video
Yeah Google isn't always great. Also could be just poor internet quality from the ISP
@@BTheInstaller I already ordered Orbi, I will let you know if there is a substantial difference
I can't get my GF mesh to pick up 2.4 at all. None of my smart devices that require it work since I got rid of their regular router.
Very good info from this guy good clean understandable, hit all my issues, very good ..
appreciate the feedback on the orbi - i've used the google mesh at our restaurants but will give the orbi a try - liked and subscribed
Great video, the ? I have about the Deco S4 is how secure is it mine was showing open I am a newbie when it comes to this . Thanks
I've got Comcast gigabit with an Orbi at each TV hardwired to Shields. Down speeds in the 400-500mbps uploads only 35-45mbps.
Yeah its much better than the apple routers.
@@BTheInstaller No contest. It was fine for a while, but clearly cannot handle today's needs.
Do you have any videos using a router to extend Wi-Fi?
Appreciate the honesty. Curious what your set up experience was with the Orbi WiFi 6? I had a painful one using the app and setting up the router.
The orbi app can be a pain but once set up, it's solid.
They need to stop charging based on non-rental. Some companies got sued for that. Get the speed.
Hi my name e is Steven Baker just got done watching your video and having problems with my internet I have sling TV and it buffers all the time and my tablet my phones are slow mesh systems work and do I have to buy a new router to go along with it I have an AT&T router and I do have fiber optic so I would like some help if you can . Thank you
I have the TP-Link mesh system, but it doesn't travel well through a cinderblock wall, so it defeated the purpose. Looking for a better mesh system
If my powerline adapter I just ordered fails me, I will have to look into mesh wifi
I just bought the Nighthawk Mesh (mk633) vs the Orbi 753. I did that then looked at your video. What do you think?
Bought a new Verizon Fios router, just want to add an extender. Any extender recommendations?
Thoughts?
Araknis? Ruckus?
Never heard of them. I've only heard of Ubiquiti's enterprise hardware.
Excellent video. I learned something I didn't know. This was my first exposure to mesh wifi. Thank you.
I'm, not that rich to spend money on Mesh stuff. My house is 1900 sqft. And suggest me a good router plz under $160. I can't have Verizon(fios )atm. Coz they need some ground wiring so Spectrum the only way. Great video but still suggest me a good router plz.
I have multiple mesh systems linked under $150. The tplink ones are fine.
@@BTheInstaller mesh system without router? Coz my router NEEDS to be changed lol . I got a 2012 . So I was thinking buying a decent router and budget mesh system
Would you recommend buying the Q90T 65 inch now or wait for the new 2021 lineup?
Some of my neighbors switched to Verizon Fios and are using the G3100, but their devices seem to connect to the 2.4 GHz network instead of the 5 GHz one. I like having different SSID names to specify which one my devices connect to.
mesh systems normally prioritize the 5GHz unless the device can't. the 5GHz is way faster... with the multiple mesh nodes, the 2.4 is redundant.
I had switched my parents to the linksys velop. We hard wired 2 of the 3 nodes and it's been night and day better
Since The Mesh Systems Take The Place Of The ISP You Still Need A Modem Correct? If So Which Do You Recommend. House Is 5,000 sq ft.
Excellent video
Great video, do you have any thoughts on the newer Nighthawk Mesh (mk83) vs the Orbi 753?
What do you think about using MOCA throughout your house in 2021?
We're in the area of Riverside California, and we have spectrum, and we have an eero pro 6 mesh router and we still not getting the speed that we're paying for. We have contacted Spectrum, and the technicians have come once the technicians leave. Our speed goes back to slow speed 😢 not sure why I think they do something so we don't have the speed we're paying for. We don't know what to do. Can you please help us with what to do with this matter? we'll appreciate it.
I have the google nest mesh and I agree on coverage claims...
Yeah, it's not the most robust.
You can keep their modem. You just don't need to use the att wifi network as the mesh router will broadcast a much bigger one.
@@BTheInstaller Awesome, thank you for the added information! Will be working on setting this all up today!!
Choosing a mesh system is soo difficult... there are too many options... i decided to buy eero 6 because i can do wired backhaul... so i guess it wont hurt that much not having the 3 bands... hopefully it will work fine
You want it wired? Most regular are find. You don't need wifi6 costs. But sounds like you are working on a selection.
Which one would you recommend? The orbi RBK752 or the ASUS AX6600 both are the same price $448 but the ASUS claims to have the same speed (AX6600) as the more expensive Orbi RBK852 which is $699 and the Orbi RB752 is only AX4200. I have comcast 1.2 gb internet speed with a motorola MB8611 Modem.

Ive been looking at an Orbi, but wondering if it would be over kill for an older 2 bedroom home??
Any of the mesh Wifi dual or 3 unit systems will normally help
@BTheInstaller hey thanks for responding. Since my home is older, it has THICK walls. I have a wireless security camera any idea how to increase the signal to it?
I have a wifi extender new I have set this up as per instructions. Says connected without internet? Any advise ?
I just learned a lot from this lol thank you
I live in a rural area and require a wireless GSM MODEM.
I then went back to square one
and my wifi speeds are back to where they were 225 to 280 speeds, just using my own newwork..........what a waste of money, I feel like I got scammed by Xfinity and MI Tech.
I have AT&T internet 1000 with 7 hardwired Eero Pro 6 units. I have no issues with WiFi.
I live in a very rural area in Ct on the side of a mountain. Have to use Netgear Model 1100 hotspot for internet. Download speeds of 48.84 and upload of 5.57. Can I use MESH system and login to the hotspot? Using nether extender now but do not have good overage in house.
Has fiber gotten better? The first few years it was out, I remember it being like a muscle car; wicked powerful, wicked sensitive.
It is intense but when you have that 300mbps upload, it makes navigating around and streaming incredibly fast.
Awesome video! Q. For true 4K or above gaming/movies quality, wired or wireless?? Cheers!
You don't need wired. You just need the speed and coverage. Fiber or good cable modem and good mesh and I stream without issues.

You just choose "no" for that option. Orbi is the best system for speed and coverage. No doubt. Get the 43 or bigger
I want to see you do a video on T-Mobile oh Internet, T-Mobile home Internet I live in Oxford Pennsylvania and it sucks
Yeah tough to rely on cell phone wifi coverage. No other options ?
