I must say, you are a natural presenter, you just have that kind of voice which is a good narrator's voice, you sound like a professional film narrator.
OMG that ancient obelisk with so much history is just right
there on the streets of London, and people just walk right by
it, probably unaware of what it even is. So very ancient, and in great shape too, which is impressive. I love the water feature, too. London takes really good care of their open spaces.
I'm glad that they didn't tear down the old columns on the Thames from the old bridge, I believe history should be preserved and remembered. So much of history has been lost already.
So many treasures of the past just sitting there. I unfortunately never got a chance to explore London when I was there. I was under military orders going through Heathrow on my way to my permanent duty station in Germany in the army, so was not free to go explore at that time. I've always wanted to go back to London and explore it's vastness. I remember in 1988, when I was flying over the city, it seemed to go on and on forever, it's footprint larger than even Los Angeles, as I don't remember LA seeming quite as huge as London in sheer acerage. I have always loved London and love reading about it's history. History and travel are two of my favorite passions, so a channel such as yours is amazing and will help others to find all the little bits that they might otherwise miss, to see the history that is all around them when exploring the ancient city. I can't wait until all of the 2020 mess is over so that I can travel back to Europe again!
Thank you so much for making a channel like this to help people find little treasures that may otherwise by overlooked.

Thanks so much for your comments. It is incredible that these pieces of history are just there for all to see and a memory of the past. Hope for you once all is cleared up in 2020 that you get back to Europe again, and hopefully a trip to London.

My my my - 1199!! What is that? I did not catch the name of it. A water outlet. So there is a handle that operated it. Fascinating!! Amazing still there after 800 years. The stories that lion head could tell!! Love the pillars of St. Pauls Bridge. I love the amazing water fountain. You featured that on one of your Christmas videos 2022.

According to google, the obelisk was built in 1580. Before then it was just a well with a leather bucket. And there have been several refurbishments over the centuries.

Wish people get the facts right. Instead of rambling on about ‘oddities’.

Hi Shirley, thanks so much for watching and subscribing. There are a couple of playlists on the channel called Secret London & Historical Places that you might find interesting with more places to see. The original part of London Bridge in the grounds of Guys Hospital is another of those weird things people just walk by but with so much history. Take care and thanks again.

The last wolf killed in the UK (not London, that was a different wolf) was killed where Heathrow Airport now stands.
