The most Healing Soup ever!
Your baby is soo adorable! 😭☺️❤️
Is this soup good for skin inflammation including scalp? Do you have any Asian inspired recipes that are great for the skin? Btw this soup looks deeelish 😋
I love seaweed! I cannot wait to try this! Thank you so much for sharing lots of cultural recipes :)
Thank you for the soup 🍲 recipe! Omg your baby is soooooo cute 😍😍😍😍 love her 💗
Honeysuckle
I don't like seaweed... ._.
try seasoning it with fish sauce! and add just a 1/2 a tablespoon of soy sauce- I’m korean and my mom always uses fish sauce to flavor this soup
thepandajk it's so true my mom do it exactly same way
Thanks for the tip!
That's what we do too!! And it makes EVERYTHING yummy! I don't cook most Korean food without it!
Can I add thinly sliced onion?
How much fish sauce?
As a Korean living in US, I like it when you introduce ways to cook Korean food with what can be found in the states!!
One of my favorite foods!!
My mother cooks this soup on my birthday every year, and I cook this soup for her on her birthday every year. I hope your daughter can cook this soup for you when she grows up. It's a touching moment that your child is old enough to cook miyeok-guk for you. By the way, the longer you boil miyeok-guk, the tastier it gets!
That is so sweet of you both! I love that and hope we could start that tradition too! 💗
Thanks for the tip on longer cooking.
@@LadyBereness812 Hope you have a delicious meal! ☺
Great video! Really love the way you cook and present. Wish you and your baby good health :)
This recipe is great itself but here's a few tips.
1. Soak the seaweed in cold water for an hour or so. It softens the seaweed.
2. Boil in large quantity. This really enhances the depth of the taste.
3. When seasoning, add salt as though it taste a little bland at first. Add soy sauce for just the color and aroma. Too much soy will make the broth unclear. Boil the soup for more than 2-3 hours in low heat. This soup has more flavor when boiled for long time. If too bland even at this stage, add more salt.
5. Substitute of beef can be shitake mushrooms, avalone, clams or dried mussels (all with no shell just the flesh). Pork and chicken are rarely used.
6. For variation, try adding ground perilla seeds or sticky rice cake balls (kneed rice flour with hot water, take small bits, roll in circles with hands to make a ball shape and add to boiled. Balls will pop up soon when cooked)
DANGEROUS TEDDY 2 cold water
Dzung! Thanks for sharing 미역국 with us all. Like you explained, the soup is an essential part of the postpartum healing process for Korean mothers. Here in Korea, we also have it on our birthdays as well to commemorate and celebrate the hardship that mothers go through when giving birth. I hope the time that Erisy gets to enjoy this lovely soup comes soon 💕
Lots of love from South Korea!
I always eat this during PMS (starting 10 days before period). There're tons of iron in the seaweed and also more in beef. Also, the fiber aids digestion and evens out hormone levels and keeps me feeling full and stave off PMS cravings. The seaweed itself is mostly soluble fiber and has very little calories.
When I'm eating this on non-PMS days, this is also tasty made with chicken or clams or dried pollak
Thanks for the info
Omg, I don't know what I'm going to do when your 30 day healthy eating series is over. I'm enjoying it so much!
Your recipe is very authentic. That's exactly how I make mine!! (as a Korean) It's also good with mussels or fish in it. Thank you so much for sharing this. I love your channel!

I'm impressed that you know about Soup soy sauce(국간장).
and try mussels or any clam instead of beef. My family loves it :)
My husband is half korean and his aunt has taught me soooo much!!!
I make it vegan with 4 types of mushrooms
my goal is to buy all pink kitchen bowls and accessories like you have! I bought a pink cookie sheet last week and I like it so much it makes me want to cook more often ^^
y4miko I didn't even notice until you said that. It's really cute with the mint green wow
same omg
I like your idea of using bone broth to make this,i think i wanna try it that way!
Also, your baby in your videos just brightens my day! She's so perfect!
Thanks for this video! I made your recipe 2-3 times and like it more than others that I found and tried on UA-cam.
Love that the soup commemorates the mom through the labour she went through. That's so special
I only know this soup because of my Korean dramas! Lol. Now I can finally make it! :) Thanks Dzung!
Literally made this the other day but now I'm definitely making it again! One of my favourite dishes forreal 😍
Your daughter is so adorable I’m overloaded with cuteness 😚

Erisy is so adorable! She's always smiling when she looks at food.
I just love your recipes thank you for sharing your gift with all of us. 🤗🤗
I also love to eat with Miyeok-Ddeokguk at new years day:) It's kind of my family tradition! And if anyone who are interested in making this soup, I highly recommend to use "soup" soy sauce! Bc the taste is totally different :D ! anyway love your videos!!
My daughter is due in July with her second baby!! She would love this soup!! Airse is so beautiful!!!❤🌹❤🌹
Congratulations!!!
THIS CHANNEL IS SO WHOLESOME AND CUTE AHHHHHHH
Can it be frozen? You should make a freezer meals series for people preparing for a baby!
Baby girl is just too cute for words 😍. And, I can't to try this soup! Looks yummy.
God! Your baby is soo adorable! The soup looks yummy😋😋😋
I use chuck roast to make this soup! And soak the meat in cold water for 30 minutes to bleed the meat. I like to cut the seaweed into small pieces before soaking, I find that to be easier. For seasoning I also add kosher salt, black pepper, and soup soy sauce.
Same here! Korean-American here living in the US…
Saved on food playlist for me to cook later
Definitely love learning about different cultures through your channel!
This looks absolutely delicious! I'm so excited that you've made this video. I'm definitely going to try making it. Your recipes are so fun and simple enough to follow!! Thanks for your hard work! Hello Erisy! So nice to see you!! ^_^
WARNING at the End of the VIDEO!!
EXTREMELY CUTE BABY!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can you save the water from the seaweed and use it as a veggie broth (for something else)?

I wish I knew about this soup after birth!! Would have been very helpful. I had postpartum hemorrhage and wasn't healed until a month later. Feeling a bit normal and active. Will definitely do the soup
I Love how u explained all the process 🙋👍👍
2:26 baby alert! Aww! This soup looks delicious.
I wish you a lovely long relationship with your itty-bitty one!
I wish I liked seaweed. This looks very comforting.
I Cut the seaweed before I add water . I use mushrooms and bone broth
You are beautiful, both inside as well as outside. I could watch you all day. I do use bone broth, actually I love it. So now I must try the seaweed. This recipe sounds like it would be good so I'm going to give it a try. Love all the food facts and tips! Erisy is adorable!
Interesting soup. It reminds me of some Vietnamese- soup in color, as we don't really use seaweed in our food that much, I do not think. And Erisy...OMG, she is too freakin' cute for words! I love seeing bits of her here and there. She's got the best smile/laugh. Love that baby!
Love your kitchen and kitchenwares!!!
Thank you so much. Will definatly prep ahead of time so I can have soon as delivering. 😊
I know this is an older video, but I just found it and absolutely love it! As a Korean-American, I really appreciate you sharing this recipe. My grandmother makes 미역국 whenever our family visits, and I’ve always wondered how to perfect it. Btw, really good pronunciation 😊

If I used tofu and miso paste as well, would it affect the healing nutrients of this soup?
Nah u basically made a miso soup with meat. It’s good.
I like using kitchen sheers to cut things just like that too!
adding 1 tsp of sesame oil makes the soup taste even better !!!
oh~my~ I'm going to a Korean market to grab the dried 미역 tmrw!!

Dzung - love you and your channel. I’m learning so much! Can you share how you make your bone broth? Thank you!
Made this last night. It was Delicious!
I'm going to make this today. I gave birth 3 months ago and its not too late to eat this.
Thanks for sharing. Never thought after pregnancy special food. So, chicken soup and seaweed soup. I'd add some wild (black) rice or shiitake mushrooms while cooking seafood soup.
Thanks for the info
Is there a printable version of this wonderful, fabulous recipe? Thank you so much 😊
500th like!!!!! Thanx for this recipe. I will be giving it a shot real soon 😊
Thanks for the 💗
You are so so welcome 😚
This looks AMAZING!!!! want to eat that now :)
My partner loves kimchi and seaweed soup. I can't wait to make this for him. Do you know how to make a seaweed salad? I don't know the name of the seaweed, it's neon green and almost noodle like. I get it all the time at my H-mart dinning.
Tristan Dollinger chuka wakame I believe they're called 😊
I let my best friend from Korea make this soup for me, I lost so much weight!
Great recipe!
Thank you for this video, I can't wait to make it and try it. I'm doing some meal prepping for the postpartum period and am wondering if this can be made ahead of time and frozen? Will it retain the same flavor or not be as good?
Yummmm looks so good I’m gonna try to make it when I go to the Korean store....
oh my God!! your baby is sooooo sweet
If I make vegetarian version with mushrooms or tofu, should I still let it simmer for 1 hr? Thanks
oh I just made seaweed soup for lunch. after eating I’m watching this episode.

This soup looks so delicious! I'll make it with Tofu. I live in Florida and there is not a good Asian Market near me 😣 so I have to wait until I go to a Market in JAX.
Thank you again for sharing all your delicious recipes!
You can find this seaweed at Whole Foods too! It’s called wakame.
