Just had to comment on how brilliant Patsy King's acting talent was throughout the entire show as the Governor she was involved in almost all the story-lines and usually it was to reprimand or verbal gymnastics to deal with Vera and later Joan but she manages to put so much depth into Erica totally amazes me ...
The cop complaining about no onions and the moustache is the dude who was Arnie's arch enemy in Commando! Before taking on Arnie he learnt his trade picking up tarts on the street
Not everyone is an Arnie movie buff. And considering he's taken on the small screen of late, assuming David was referencing another tv series, isn't unusual.
Prisoner was always so accurate when it came to the prison service. Not getting an interpreter and letting another prisoner do the job. I mean that poses no security risk at all.
I used to watch this in the 90's on my portable telly in my bedroom! think it was on UTV at 11pm, it's great to re-watch it all, I don't think I ever saw the first episodes though. You just can't beat this show its priceless and addictive. Tried Wentworth but it's not as good, the original show is way better.
Erica "You will address, me as Governor or Mrs Davidson, you will only speak when you are spoken to, and you will not have the impertenence to come to this office without an appointment!" ha ha go Erica you tell her!
Wider Barbecue And now we have a prostitute in a prison who can't speak English, nor communicate with the other women, prison officers and the governor. It seems like she hasn't got a clue either. Haha.
The scene in the Gouvernor's office between Erica and Clara is one of my all-time favourite scenes. The humour of it, the looks on their faces... classic.
Charlene Abbey Not that Bea was set for any long lasting romance, nor happiness herself though, so she can shit stir if she wants to get a rise out of Meg, but it won't last. 😃

For those that want to go into acting - you could learn a lot from this guy.. The guy that came to see the Greek family. He's the definition of what Bad acting means. He's a classic example on what not to do. He's a classic example - on what not to do😉
Or maybe there wasn't a whole lot of Greek people in the industry to actually choose from. So they gave a couple of people known to someone through the show, a chance to play a small part. And they just happen to be unprofessional actors.. so what.
Theo Tsalkitzakos as Stavros. ALL the actors in Australia at the time and HE got the job? How did he pass his audition? He obviously knew someone in the Casting Department.
Poor Irene. It wasn't her fault double entendre was an unknown concept in her native Hellas. "I ask nice man if he will let me play with his bouzouki", she said in all innocence. "You're a raving nympho" said the Aussie cop, whose old man had battered into him that if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, then it must be a duck. "You want to taste my moussaka?" pleaded Irene in a last desperate attempt "You're worse than that sheila down the road that gave my brother the clap" said the cop, clapping her in irons. "Oh...acropolis", said Irene.
One of the things I have found most endearing and charming about PCBH is the combination of terrible acting and amazing acting, ridiculous storylines mixed with compelling and addictive writing. Sometimes it gets a little ridiculous, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons (ha get it, because Wentworth is full of pros and cons) 😂😂😂😂
So a Greek woman is brought into Wentworth and apparently doesn't speak a word of english and whilst everyone is wondering how successful they're going to be with inducting her, good ol' Vera Bennett up and says "If english is good enough for us then it's good enough for her!" Lol wtf? Is she even serious? 😂😂
Because Vera is not only short-tempered and inhumane, she's ignorant. That's why her own personal life is such a mess. Another great character put in there by the writers, I bet, to show that the guards and staff can be as hapless as the prisoners.
Davo takes a decision, it turns out badly and she punishes Warner/Travers because she was made to look a fool by the press and the 'department'. Poor governorship.
I love these old cars from the 70',s such beautiful style. I have to get used to the steering wheel on the left side, as I am from the states. great coloring like today.
Erica is being totally unfair to penalize the whole block for the actions of one woman. If she thought logically then should realize it was Burke who did it. I mean its pretty obvious that no other inmate staying inside would be responsible for damaging a television which they can make good use of. Poor Karen and Lynn have to suffer missing out on their day release due to poor governorship from Erica. She is just being awkward and taking it out on them all so she can remind them who's in charge.
8ballpoolking1 Plenty of teachers I knew throughout my childhood didn't hesitate to blame and chastise the whole class, just because of the actions of one or two or a few students. Especially when the guilty ones didn't own up to whatever had gone wrong. I guess it was a way to hopefully flush out the guilty ones. And get them to own up to it. Otherwise, the guilty ones ended up being disliked by the rest of the class because the innocent class members had to suffer the consequences. And that could be seen as a form of punishment too.
3:16 "They hold me personary responsible"?? Bumbled lines, high camp Greek acting, Stavros looks straight down the barrel of the camera at 28:06 - who directed this episode, One Shot Beaudine?
The Greek woman comes back as a prisoner named Yamine! She won’t speak at all, they think she’s deaf and mute and they call her Jane Doe. During Myra’s top dog era.
There was a telecom interpreter service where you called an operator which connected you to a language interpreter if you needed one. Greek and Italian were available for sure back then.

Jack Spratt Those are good points and I'm sure you're right. My gut feeling is that had Nolene not been released then Erica would have got to the truth eventually. She just had to dish out her punishment somewhere in response to the incident and so she made them all suffer as a consequence.
